Sometimes, that's all Richard really wanted in life. For someone to enjoy the work he put into his business and appreciate it! That alone was enough to chase away any ill feelings he might have had in given the cat entirely way too much to begin with, and he had to admit that the sight of the pudgy cat being so happy pleased him.
What pleased him more, though, was the sight of the cat rummaging through his his collared overcoat and producing what was obviously a 24k gold necklace, diamonds and all. Richard just stared at the necklace for a moment, crimson eyes wide with surprise and some greed, and before he could ask the little cat where it came from, he was gone! Just like that! Gone!
Richard had seem many weird things, but most of that could have been explained by the alcohol. This? He hadn't had anything to drink that day! He took the necklace into his hands and gave it a look over, and he couldn't help but whistle aloud, as he looked for a name, address, or a serial number that would explain where Pippin may have obtained this beautiful trinket from. "Well, that cat sure has good taste... obviously so, since he came to my shop and found this."
He hadn't considered that this was the cat's way of paying for his candy, and why would he have? To Richard, that was just another cat, a big, fat, cat with great taste in candy and jewelry. "Hm... here's hoping all you have is a stomachache, little friend! I'd like to see what else you can produce if there's a next time!"
He placed the necklace into his pocket, deciding he'll keep it until its owner came sniffing around later. Perhaps he could get a good reward out of them, assuming he didn't simply pawn it off. He didn't want to- it was a gift worth keeping, he felt. It wasn't every day that one received a damn fine necklace from a cat.
