"Good," he told her. The soldier shook his mane and frowned.
"Come," he tried again. The language barrier would make it difficult to tell her directions, and Isifo hated the border. He would hand her off to a more experienced Firekin.
He wondered, vaguely, when the sands would get too crowded to house anymore rogues.

At first, Asami did not understand.
Then, as Isifo began to turn and the words began to sink in, she began to take slow, deep breaths. He was leading her. The swampie's eyes followed the blacker lion, and those eyes grew wider with each passing second.
She had won!
Small Asami, pilgrim from the southern lands would see the inside of this vast world. Perhaps they had fortresses dug from the rock. Maybe an oasis so rich it would be like living like the Queen herself?
Asami gave a jump, and jogged forwards, heart beating and smile as wide as can be.
