Sometimes the smoke can be overpowering to some people or even just the entire process is too much for a person and becomes overwhelmed. But sometimes, they grow too relax and calm from the sage that they might just lose balance and be slowly drifting away to slumber. And so hearing that Connor is all right did make the man smile; although he was a little concerned in seeing how his face is brightly red. He couldn’t pinpoint on the reason why his face is so flushed. Perhaps they are standing too close to the fire and he’s a little hot? Or maybe in combination with the smoke? Well, he would have to keep a closer eye on him. “Very well, just relax Connor and breathe normally . . .” He instructed him again as his hand that was resting on his cheek dropped down to his side.
Noah pointed the sage right over his heart and rotated his wrist clockwise as the smoke looped in the air above them. He moved it upward, keeping the same clockwise motion to be at his neck and as it hovered over his shoulder and down his arm. “You are free to close your eyes now if you want to Connor.” He said, fixated on his body as he continued to perform the ritual. Slowly, he walked around him to enwrap the smoke around his body and started to take a closer look of the young baker that he stole away from the woods. He is an attractive young man who probably is courting a woman or that is what he assumed. And then his steel blue eyes took notice of the freckles that is dusted across the bridge of his nose. He couldn’t help but to chuckle softly at the sight since it’s rather adorable. But suddenly he was pecked by Avalloc right at his head and he bit his lower lip to hold in the wince and looked back at the young man once again. “How do you feel now? Feeling lightheaded or anything?” He said as he walked behind him.

It was nearly impossible for Connor to just "breathe normally" as Noah told him to. And what did he mean, relax? There was no way he could relax when Noah was so close to him like this! Still, he tried his best and also tried his best not to bite his lip in order to calm himself down, knowing that he would very well bite a hole into it if he did. It was a little easier when Noah had finally dropped his hand from his cheek, finding himself breathing a little more normally, even feeling a little more relaxed. However, feeling that hand hover over his shoulder and down his arm, Connor had to fight the urge to shiver. It almost felt . . . as if he was touching him. Connor didn't say a word though and opened his eyes as Noah said he could do, now eying the smoke that surrounded him briefly. Just what . . . exactly was Noah doing again to him anyway? Trying to relax him? This seemed like such an odd thing to do . . . but Connor wasn't going to question it.
Just as Noah has asked him how he felt now, if he felt lightheaded or anything, Connor found himself feeling a little faint, finding himself bringing a hand up to his head as he blinked a few times. "Ah, no . . . I-I'm . . . I'm fine," he said, although it was more to convince himself that he was rather than answering Noah. However, it didn't help at all as he took a step back as he felt himself losing balance a little, only to find himself stumbling backwards . . . only to crash right into Noah. He hadn't realized he was behind him, especially as he placed his hands on the man's chest and stomach, perhaps a little too low, as he tried to push himself away, his face once more growing extremely hot. "O-oh god . . . o-oh my god . . . I-I'm so sorry Noah! I don't . . . don't know what happened! I, ah . . . I'm sorry . . ." His words and thoughts were all jumbled as he moved away from him, cursing at himself. Why did he have to act like such an idiot sometimes? In front of Noah too . . . he felt so ridiculous!

Noah would hope that the calming process is helping him calm down. The smoke practically cloaked the entire room as he focused on Connor to cleanse the bad spirits out of him as he inhale the smoke and breathe the bad out in case they might have disturbed the Wardwoods earlier. Hearing that he’s fine made him feel better as he continued onward. He brought his hand away that held the burning sage leaves as he believed he has covered the young man in the healing smoke well. The Chief didn’t want it to prolong any further for it was Connor’s first time and it can be too much for anyone. With his first cleansing performed by his grandmother he had almost choked and passed out as a child. Not a very fond memory as he would be smacked by the old crone. Ah, may she rest in peace . . .
But suddenly he felt the young baker stumbling back and collide into his chest which startled him. It made Avalloc and Mintha fly away to perch on the table again to be out of the way. “Conn—” Noah’s words were silenced when he felt his hand feeling his chest. Quite possibly for Connor to know what is he leaning against and felt the hand going lower and lower that he wanted to say something to alert him but the words have vanished. However, Connor finally realized and became completely flustered as he apologizes constantly over and over again to him. And in response, Noah chuckled as he smiled softly. “Don’t be, it’s better that way instead of falling against the floor and hurting yourself after all.” He said in reassurance to him. “It just means that you are relaxed and it also means that I should take my leave as well. It is very late now and I have work in the early morning.” He did extend his stay far too long than the normal but he finished what he set out to do as he gave a small nod of his head. He walked to the kitchen to douse the burned end of the sage leaves in water to be packed away with him and collected his belongings together.

Connor was absolutely embarrassed by the fact that he had even fell back against Noah like that and then basically felt him up! He hadn't even realized at first that Noah was behind him . . . but the moment his hand had touched his chest he had freaked out and tried to move away, only to make it even worse. Noah probably thought he was such an idiot! Though, to hear that he shouldn't be sorry, that it was better that way instead of stumbling over and hurting himself, it provided a little reassurance but at the same time he still felt like Noah just wanted to leave already . . . especially when he heard him say it was also time for him to take his leave. For some reason, it might Connor incredibly sad to hear that he was going to leave already but he supposed Noah had a good point, as he glanced out the window to see that it was dark out. Ah . . . and to have to work early in the morning . . . Oh! Right. Work. He had to do that too.
"Ah, a-alright . . ." he said, following him to the kitchen so he could grab the cake that he had given to Noah to take him with him. He then made his way over to the front entrance to meet Noah there, his face still flushed a deep red. "Don't forget about the cake . . ." he murmured as he stared down at it for a moment before suddenly looking up at Noah. "A-again, I'm sorry for . . . doing that, I didn't realize . . ." He could never apologize enough for it. "But . . . I also want to thank you. For everything. For . . . for saving Rosy and I in the woods, and also for walking me to my home . . . and also for protecting me, and my home . . . j-just everything, really." Sucking in a deep breath, Connor took a step forward in front of Noah, only to lean up and press a kiss to his cheek, letting his lips linger for a moment before he pulled back. "Thank you very much, Noah."

His belongings were gathered up. His sword was strapped to his belt and his cloak was tossed over his shoulder as it was tied around his neck. Mintha was perched on his shoulder already and nuzzled close to the crook of his neck as she looked very sleepy. He walked up to the front door to meet up with Connor who carried the cake with him at hand which made him smile. “Thank you again for the cake Connor.” Noah will surely be enjoying a slice of it when he’s home. The moment he was about to grab the door knob, he looked down at the baker who spoke, thanking him again for everything that he has done this evening. It made him very happy to hear that for it is his job to protect the citizens of Palisade and to hear it means he’s doing an excellent job. “You’re welcome. If you ever need me for anything you can always find me at the station.”
Just as he was about to open the door, he felt the sudden kiss on his cheek which made his eyes wide open and completely stunned. He . . . never thought that he was going to be kissed. It made him blush a rosy shade of red as he slowly look back down to him as Connor said his thanks to him. “A-ah, w-well . . . you’re quite welcome . . .” For once in quite some time he was flustered and apparently at a loss for words as not a chirp or a caw was heard. Even his companions looked stunned too at the man. “Well . . . good night Connor.” He quickly bowed his head down and opened the door to step out to see his horse. Avalloc soon flew out of his home and perched on the fence for now as Noah placed his foot at the stirrup and lifts himself up on top of his horse with his hand on the reins and the other holding the cake. He looked over to see Rosaire and gives a bow of his head to her.
However, he didn’t leave just yet. He looked over at the blue fairy wren on his shoulder and smiled. “Mintha . . .” The tiny bird chirped as she moved closer to him, hidden away from Connor’s sight. Soon, Mintha flew from his shoulder to land on Connor’s as she moved closer to him and gave him a peck on his cheek; a kiss. She has stayed with Connor at Noah's command to be a messenger between them in case of something might happen during the night; seeing how she nuzzled at the crook of his neck to be warm. As he and his horse trotted away from his yard to stand in front of his home, he smiled at the young man and waved his hand towards him in goodbye. Avalloc let out a caw as his wings expand wide before he took flight in the air. His eerie glowing blue eyes lit the way of the dark knight as Noah took off to go to his home after the eventful day he had and rest for tomorrow.

Seeing how red Noah had gotten when he had kissed his cheek made Connor grin a little, holding back a giggle as he was amused with just how flustered he had caused the man to get. He had never knew he would have such an effect on a man like Noah, so it was kind of a nice feeling so he couldn't help but feel a little bit smug about it. When he saw Noah bow his head a little and open the door to step out, Connor found himself chuckling finally, giving a small nod in return. "Goodnight . . . Noah," he said as he moved into the doorway, leaning against the door frame as he watched Noah getting all saddled up. He noticed him give a bow to Rosaire, who just stared back at him and even raised her head to him a little as if to bow back, as if it was her sign of approval in a way. It only made Connor smile a little more, just until he noticed Mintha fly over to him and land on his shoulder, to peck his cheek as if to give him a kiss kiss, which caused him to smile softly. How cute . . . Though it surprised him to see Noah ride away into the night and leave the blue fairy wren with him, but it also made him smile. So if Mintha was staying with him tonight . . . that meant he must see Noah again sometime . . . tomorrow he hoped. With that, he took one last look in the direction Noah had rode off in before slipping back inside, shutting and locking the door behind him with a bright smile on his face. Today had turned out surprisingly good and he couldn't wait to see him again.
