Melvin shot Rep a look as well. "Not taking a job isn't quitting. It means I'm busy sometimes and organizing takes a lot of time. No one else bothered to do anything from what I heard of past holidays. Does that make all of you quitters?" He wasn't a quitter, damnit!

Between Melvin's brief look of discontent, Jordan's plea for procrastination and Rep's virtual eye-roll, Jerry deflated a bit, "I was just offering," He mumbled self consciously. His own attention went to the pile of booze. "If people would prefer, I'll leave it upstairs."
Well, it was the holidays wasn't it? Biting his lip, he helped himself to a glass, cracking open a can of soda before mixing it with a bit of Rum when Jordan wasn't looking.

"Quittrerrrrrr" Rep purred, chin propped up on one hand. "We never tried. You tried and gave up. You quit." Winding up Melvin made any night better.
Jerry got a sidelong glance as he gave up pitifully easily. He shrugged, he wasn't picky either way what music was involved, music was just background noise. His attention turned to the gingerbread men Before had brought, gingerbread men that were suitably gory looking. Pilfering one he munched it contentedly, smirking at Melvin. "Every holiday from here on out you'll be a quitter."

A faint color was rising on the Lifer's face as he gripped his whiskey bottle and kept his glare on Rep. "Fine. Whatever holiday comes next, I'll do that one." He huffed back taking another drink.
Setting his glass down and slowly refilling it, his mind slowly started to list holidays. New years was now. January didn't have a major holiday. February had Valen -
He touched his head a moment. "Oh..right." He forgot about THAT holiday. Just great.

Rep didn't drop his grin, happy he was getting a reaction out of the Life hunter for a change rather than the other way around. He followed the same train of thought due Valentines and was about to get properly dug into Melvin over how terrible he could imagine a valentines party run by the other man could be just to try and wind him up further when Jordan clipped him on the back of the head.
He glanced over his shoulder and outright pouted before finishing off the last of his gingerbread man. "I am being nice. I'm being lovely."
"Yeah well. We'll see." he sniped at Melvin, mouthing "Quitter" at him silently.

Melvin's eye twitched at the word 'lovely', wondering if Rep had also figured out the holiday math that would be him hosting one of the worst holidays around, and tried to resist the urge of dumping his whiskey on the man.
Reaching for a cookie and inspecting it a moment, he looked at both Jordan and Rep. "Well don't you two make a cute couple."

"I've got plenty to go around~." he replied to Jordan with just a little edge of the pleading wheedle he reserved exclusively for him, glancing back again with a hint of a smile. "I won't run out."
The subtle smile though iced over as he turned back to Melvin, the glare he gave him about as chilly as it got. He had to put his glass back on the table hurriedly with a click as the urge to crush it became tempting - he'd learned his lesson at Thanksgiving.
"Not as cute as your feeble attempts at parties will be before you give up and go back to pretending to work in the labs."
His appreciation of being deemed cute was non existent and the blush that was his absolute blight did nothing to make him feel any happier.

Jordan smirked. "No summoning indoors," he said. "Either of you. You going to need some help with the planning, Melvin? Or setup? I'm sure we could help carry and haul, if nothing else."

"Aren't they precious~. Look at him blush." Candace agreed playfully with Melvin as she walked into the common room. She'd heard the music as she'd come into the dorm building but had continued on to her room first, wanting to change out of her work out clothes before celebrating New Year's with everyone. She also had a bottle of champagne in hand, though she knew she didn't have enough glasses to share with everyone. Candace just hoped there were cups here already. "What's Melvin planning?"

A blush made Melvin smile just a bit as he drank from his glass and set it down. He did not PRETEND to work in the labs. He did a lot of damn work in the labs, trainee level be damned. He couldn't throw a axe like a Sun or a punch like some meat head, but word games he knew.
"Would you say my attempts would be as cute as your glasses?"
Jordan was ignored for the moment as he kept his eyes on Rep, daring his little teasing game on.

Not looking away, he took another sip before responding. "Yes he did. He should show them off more often. I was thinking of getting a pair just like them, but I think Rep would still pull them off better. What do you like most about them, Jordan?"
