Joshi grunted noncommittally, glancing up at the tall trees around them. She'd been born a lion for a reason. Leopards were meant to climb trees, not her.
"If you want to drag this thing into a tree, you have my blessings." Joshi yawned wide and stretched, trying to work the heaviness from her limbs. "I can drag it to the base, if you want. But I'm not climbing up there."
Last thing she needed was a broken leg. An injury like that, out here... she wouldn't make it long at all. The small tan lioness pricked her ears, her eyes on the horizon and unfocused in thought. With a full stomach and no need to hunt, she could be past the edge of the grasslands by nightfall, and into the trees...
She wondered if Dak was really out there, in the mountains. Sade, Keegan...
Oh, right. The food.
"Uh, I guess we could just leave it here." Joshi said reluctantly. "I can't stuff another piece in, and I'm not dragging it with me." The image that came with that idea made her laugh. "If we're lucky, some lion will find it after us."
Probably wouldn't happen, but hey, what could you do? Joshi had a full stomach. She had no more use for the thing. If the dogs wanted it, fine. They could have it. She'd be long gone on all this extra strength.

Nyota nodded, a little reluctantly "alright, we'll leave it" she hated wasting food, but at least she got some at all. She sighed a little, and looked up to the sky. It was getting darker, and the stars were just slowly and faintly starting to appear. She stared for a few minutes and mentally shook herself. "so, do you have anywhere to go after this? i mean, pride wise, or something?" Nyota thought she may as well ask, hell, maybe Joshi would decide to go with her? Yet Nyota doubted it, every lion had there calling, and though Nyota wasnt thinking she would stay for a long time in this new pride of hers, she would stay long enough. or just not go at all. she had no idea.

"...yeah. I have somewhere to go." Joshi lied.
Weeeell, it wasn't really a lie, so much as an optimistic outlook. She thought she had somewhere to go. Maybe there was no one waiting for her, but she was pretty sure they'd be happy when she found them anyways. Her blue eyes drifted to the horizon again, and the mountains that were just outlined against the darkening sky.
Darkening sky...
Joshi cursed vehemently. So much for reaching the trees by evening! But maybe by dawn, if she got going. Then she could spend the heat of the day resting in the shade. Find some water... yes. That was the best plan.
"Ah... not to eat and run, but I should probably get going." Joshi smiled to soften the words. "You're welcome to come along, if you don't have anywhere else to go? Otherwise, I guess I'll just wish you good luck?"

Nyota understood the feeling. she should probably get going as well, to where, she had no clue. "its ok, its getting late. Thank you for hunting with me, and perhaps we will meet again someday?"
Nyota just wanted to make sure Joshi went along her way first, though she didnt really know why, she just maybe wanted to make sure she headed somewhere, instead of just standing here after Nyota left. Tristan Thorne your post can finish it :3

"Yeah, maybe." Probably not. Joshi didn't plan on coming back this way. If things worked out...
Well, even if they didn't.
The mountains, the forests. That's were I belong anyways. She missed the sting of frost in the air, the way her breath misted in front of her on cold mornings. The smell of pine in the air, sharp and rich. Needles under her hunting paws, quieting her footsteps...
Her mind already moving forward, the lioness gave a parting nod to Nyota and then broke into a ground-eating trot.
