Candace blinked. "I..I see..." She sank into the water until her head was all that was above the water. "Horsemen are weird..hippos aren't horses. Neither are bears."

"Which one? You've got a few, if I recall." It was true. Was it the one with women? The one with drinking? The one with how effective of a Sun he was? Surely he could befriend other Suns. She watched him play around with the jet settings, sitting up again and scooting over to sit beside Jerry. "What's wrong?"

"I know half the Life Department have quite a few bets rolling about me," He grunted incredulously. "It's all kinda' funny. And I bet I could name plenty people who are probably conspiring to smash my ukulele. Haven't been drinking, though!"

The worry of bets made her snort. "The Life division has bets about everything. You remember when I 'borrowed' Circe from Caelius? They made bets on how it would turn out and what my aftermath would be like." She rolled her eyes. She wouldn't mention how H had said she broken quite a few hearts in the process. Candace pat Jerry's arm. "You could just smash them ba--really?!" She gasped and sat up, and then she hugged Jerry tightly. She was so proud! "I'm so glad to hear that! And you've been taking care of yourself and doing all the things we talked about before?" Candace was absolutely delighted by all of this. It was progress!
