Another portal yawned in front of Madison, and she plunged in, bracing herself for the chill of the tundra. It was quite a shock when arid warmth surrounded her instead. She had a momentary glimpse of a very busy market before someone started shouting at her in a language she couldn't understand.
Her deer in the headlights look lasted a few seconds before she hurriedly backed up and stumbled through the portal once more. "Okay, I think that was better. But still not right," she sighed. She was feeling really strange now. Ugh...
