Karei hearing her state that she likes his story which made him so happy to hear. Starting to pick the story up again as he takes a deep breath. "The Dragon hearing the Princess's words he takes to the skies. To his shock the Princess had done the same. She is matching him with ease and perfectly. Maybe this Princess could be the one. The one to beat him at his own games. Maybe she has what it takes to get what she truly wants. He smirks at her courage and bravery and hopes for her sake that it is enough to grant her wish.

The Princess not knowing what the Dragon is thinking keeps up with only guesses to his next moves by watching his wings and how he is moving them. Then finally as the race comes to an end she sees an opening and passes him. Landing on the ground a ways in front of him when he lands. I win. What is the next task? She and her lover use to race all the time so she learned from him how to tell how one will move by watching their wings."

Amariel was quiet, and looked very impressed. She could not imagine anyone trying to out fly an enormous dragon, but thought it was sweet that the Princess learned form her lover. Amariel herself could not fly, but had learned a valuable skill from someone close to her. After some diligent observation and the guidance from her older brother, he had taught her how to start a fire. After nearly a hundred tries she made her first fire with success and he showed her how to feed it. She had never had the chance to actually put her skill to use, but perhaps if she is in a situation like the Princess her skill will be useful.

A glistening clear pool inched into view. It opened up as they parted the forest and it was only a few yards away.

Karei happy that his new friend seemed to be enjoying his story. He saw the watery pool in front of them a ways as he looks at Amariel and smiles. "After beating the Dragon the Princess stood in front of him waiting to hear the next task. She needs to pass. She needs the Sacred Lily of Life for her lover. She will do anything for it.

The Dragon looks at her and nods. You won the race. You walked through my flames without getting burnt. Now you must pick one of the three paths before you. He points to the paths. Pick the wrong ones and you will die. Pick the right one and it will take you to the field where the fluttercorns guard the Sacred Lily of Life."
