Clerise nodded. "Yeah. Or sometimes, you wake up and don't bond in time? And that means you go right back into the pod until the next time you spring forth from a machine like that one goddess did from Zeus' forehead."

She waggled a finger at Jake. "True ******** story, that. Look it up."

Balthazar laughed lightly in her head, despite being in relatively quiet mood. {[ You're a lot more helpful you used to be. ]}

"Yeah. You get paid, uh, like $400 a month? But you don't get access to your account for the first few months, because I don't know, we're full of jailors?" Clerise shrugged, and then nervously laughed a little.

"Don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to, my friend. And trust me, you don't want to know the answer."

"Well," Clerise said, heartily clapping Jake on the back, "okay as I can be, yeah? Sunny fixed me up, brand new like."

"You're a quiet thing, didja know? Are you normally this much of a mousy boy, or is this just special occasion for me?" The redhead shook Jake just a bit, by the shoulders. "We need to get you out and about, sir."

"Yeah, little bit, aintcha?" Clerise then proceeded to reach out, with full intentions of ruffling the hair on his pretty little head.

"Yeah, sort of. Or just out....in general. The rest of the labs, the island minus the duty areas~ You know." She smirked. "All that good stuff. There's like, a beach, little guy. Sure, it's...grey and overcast, half the time, and the other half of the time there's shadows everywhere, but hey! A beach is a beach, isn't it?"

Clerise went to do a last round, checking on each of the minis. "I'm gonna jet here in a few shakes, unless you need anything? All you need to know is to. Uh. Not let them out, really. At least, not all at once."

"Well, duh. We are surrounded by water, mousy-bro," Clerise said, shrugging her standard issue coat back on. "Shitty beach barely deserving of its name or no."

She smirked at Jake one last time, before touching two fingers to her forehead in a casual salute.

"Then I leave the labs in your capable-or-something-like-it hands, good sir." The redhead blew him a kiss and dashed off, a skip in her step-- maybe she could go tree-climbing in the jungle today instead of bothering with the outpost duty. Hm.
