"I think we could put together a team to get it done," Jordan said. He half-smiled. "I guess I've been figuring out that I can't do everything alone, sometimes I need a hand, and that I've got people I can ask for that now. So yeah. I'd like your help with this."

He glanced down and frowned a little. "Dude, you're not wearing boots? The snow's going to get in your shoes."

"I thought we were heading to a major city and they'd have PLOWS," Jerry groaned, limping forward to try to get feeling back in his toes, "I have work boots but the er.... souls got melted. A bit. Let's just find a shop to warm up in already! I could use some REAL coffee. Ahahaha." The idea of the project seemed to have perked him up a bit at least, the smile back on his face in earnest. "I think it's an amazing idea. And lord knows I'm not getting it done on my own."

"Real coffee sounds like an awesome idea," Jordan agreed. "There's the street, I'm sure there's a coffee shop somewhere nearby. You can probably pick up some socks and new workboots after," he suggested. He wasn't asking about the melted part. Bizarre clothing damage was kind of part of the job description.

"We'll need some durable furniture," he mused as they walked. "Once we get it cleared out enough to fix up, anyway. Or easily replaceable. I know I break things by accident these days if I'm not careful, anyway. Maybe replaceable is the way to go."

"I need some things for my apartment before I worry about decorating a boobytrapped schoolhouse, ahahaha. But... maybe if we start a fundraiser? I could get my band to play! Ah- looks like there's a coffee shop down that way-" He breathed as though they had spotted an oasis.

"Or we could grab some Moons and build something," Jordan suggested. "Or a combination or something. Coffee," he said, his attention instantly diverted. "After months of the cafeteria sludge, I'd even take Starbucks." The last word was said in a tone of voice more usually reserved for something found in the bottom of a minipet tank.

Jerry limped faster, his expression picking up, "We need to get that place safe first. Rin and I found the circuit breaker but we're lucky no one got their faces blown off in the process." He wobbled at the door to the coffee shop- it looked like a nice hole in the wall, non-starbucks, which was a plus- hoping Jordan would get it for him. "Let's not talk about the cafeteria coffee." Nor the fact everyone blamed him for the destruction of the communal coffee station.

"Someone must have some degree of electrician skills. It might require some bribery, but that's doable." Jordan held the door open for Jerry. "Good idea," he agreed, and followed Jerry inside, taking a deep, appreciative sniff of the delicious smells in the air inside. "My God, I think I'm getting caffeinated just by breathing in here," he said happily.

"We'll need to bring some back with us," Jerry murmured, like a man enchanted.

"Nobody even said anything about the coffee at Thanksgiving," Jordan sighed. He headed over to the counter to place his order.

"I know it was the highlight of my evening" Jerry smiled weakly, limping after as he fished fr his wallet- it was odd to be carrying a wallet again. "It definitely ah... gave me incentive to um. Drink less."

"I'm glad you appreciated it," Jordan said. "I'd been saving it. No, put that away, I got this."

"A-are you sure?" He smiled bashfully, shifting his lean on his crutch to straighten his glasses and check the menu board. "Oh dear God we have options."

That's what she said, Ferros chimed in suddenly.

Jordan stifled a laugh. "It's incredible," he said after a moment, when he was sure he wouldn't break out in giggles. "I think I'll just go with a hammerhead," he told the barista who was standing boredly behind the counter, giving them the evil eye.

It was probably good he couldn't hear Ferros' joke.

"I'll... uh... uh..." Jerry gripped Jordan's shoulder as though that would stop him from crumbling under the pressure of commitment. "A... A caramel Latte sounds fantastic!" He beamed as though proud of this choice before patting his friend's back, "I need to sit down, I'll find us a spot."

"Right." Jordan paid for the order and cheerfully ignored the employee's glare.

A couple of minutes later, he brought the two coffees over to the table that Jerry had claimed. "Two real coffees," he announced. He sat down and sipped at his, closing his eyes to pay attention to the flavor. "Ahhh, wonderful," he pronounced.
