He looked at her a moment, lips pressed thin. "My favorite color is silver. My favorite food is chili." He found the hot, spicy food comforting when it was usually cold and dismal outside.
He recrossed his arms. "You don't ask many questions, which is why you never find out things."

"That wasn't so hard." Ofelia sort of smirked at Melvin though it faintly shifted into a wince. She whisked that away from her face as quickly as she could, doing her best to ignore the pain, and she placed a hand gingerly on her stomach. All this talking had almost made her forget her hunger and her pain from her wound. "Also Ah never ask 'cause ya never look like ya wanna tell. Ah got mah moments where Ah wanna be nosy, sure, but even someone like me knows when people jus' wanna be left alone."
There was a pause. "Ah also f'gur'd ya'd like me not askin' questions." It was hard for Ofelia to gauge what he liked but at least now she knew his food preference and color. Perhaps he'd be getting some chili soon as a thank you for the shirt....but that was only if they even let her out any time soon. Even inside the hall she was getting stir crazy from all the smells.

"If you really want to figure out something, you have to ask. It's not a guarantee that you will get an answer, but it's not like you are risking life and limb just by saying a simple questions. I've learned a lot about everyone because I just ask. I think you'd get to know people more if you used some of that courage on the field fighting off the field talking."
He eased her up best he could and gestured ahead. "Are you able to walk back to your room or should I get a wheelchair?"

"It's not so much courage in mah fightin' as it is blind hope. Courage can't always carry ya, sometimes ya gotta let yer body an' instincts do the rest." Ofelia winced again, unhappy with the pain that was spreading through her torso. Was this the work of the medics, trying to show her that she couldn't escape as easily as she had last time? This wound was so much more minor and it was really annoying at how it limited her movements. Perhaps it was because of its location on her stomach?
She looked at Melvin for a moment at his question and her cheeks turned a little red. Ofelia didn't want a wheelchair, or really need one, and being offered one was something she should refuse. Walking off the pain was what she did best, a Sun hunter couldn't and wouldn't show any weakness, but now she just ached and it was annoying. ". . . . Ah think Ah can walk, but maybe should lay down when Ah get back mah head hurts." Honesty was her best policy and she turned to look back at her room. It wasn't far from them, she hadn't made any progress at all in her attempt to escape and find food. "...help, please."
Asking for help wasn't a weakness, right?

He took a arm, being careful, and slowly walked with her to her room where he moved the sheets aside and sat her down. Once she slipped in, he moved the covers over her. "Next time, just text people and stay in bed. You won't get any better wandering off."
He breathed deep, feeling a little light headed himself. "Talk to you later, Ofelia." To which he moved to the door and slowly closed it behind him.
