OPTION D
ICE-BREAKING SINKS SHIPS

Success! It was a success! The cute library-boy thought she was a fan of classist stereotypes and deeply-unsettling clown cult imagery now, but it was at least a thought! A thought about her no less! Eresit could definitely work with that.

And work with that she did. For two weeks, Eresit worked and reworked the perfect plan to move her "relationship" forward. She probably could have formulated her plan in a few days if she didn't repeatedly feel the need to scream into a pillow every time she thought of him.

The literature always made this sort of thing look so easy. Eresit wished a plot contrivance would do all of this "romance" stuff for her. That juggalo author may have been onto something.

Unfortunately, Eresit lived in the world of reality, so she was forced to do all of the heavy lifting herself. Namely lifting herself. Off of her couch. To go to the library. And, you know, actually talk to what's-his-horns?

Eresit groaned into the shadow of the library as she approached. She was there. She'd made the commitment, just as she had the other day. That didn't go so bad, did it?

Why push her luck, though?

Wait. Wrong thought path. Eresit opened the door as little as possible so as to create the smallest disturbance, but her actions had the opposite effect as she clawed her way between the heavy doors with a clatter.

Successfully within the building, Eresit quickly set to work scoping out her target. She spent a good twenty minutes edging up and down each aisle as nonchalantly as possible given her scattered mental state. Eventually, Eresit realized the boy simply wasn't around and let her posture fall slack with both relaxation and disappointment. She walked out of the labyrinth of shelves contemplating her next move.

She almost ran the greenblood down as she headed for the exit. Eresit managed to swerve at the last second, combining both a spin move and a frantic scramble into the nearest asile. She avoided the thing where two parties are walking towards each other and then they both try to step out of the way, but they both end up stepping in the same direction and they awkwardly mirror each other for a few moments while apologizing and avoiding eye-contact until someone takes the initiative to just walk off to the side and let the other party pass, so everything was okay.

Eresit held her breath as the boy passed her by. As far as Eresit knew, he didn't notice her blatant avoidance of him. As far as he knew, she was just minding her own business in the library! Being cool! Reading, even! This was perfect. Eresit stopped gnawing on her bottom lip long enough to crack a sly smirk. She knew how to play this game.

Target fully locked, Eresit wandered over near the greenblood's table--her back to him, though, just so he'd know she wasn't there to talk to him, but close enough that, you know, if he, like, wanted to or anything, it wouldn't be like, super awkward or anything. Totally cool.

Eresit spent a couple moments crabwalking half-circles around the boy's table before moving on.

For the rest of the evening, Eresit would occasionally walk past the boy wherever he wandered in the library. Always with a different book tucked under her arm, title facing out, so he'd know what she was reading. Perhaps he'd notice she was carrying something interesting, and assume Eresit was similarly intelligent and worth a second look.

Maybe he'd just forget the errant juggalo thing.

B)

Sarise laughed awkwardly as soon as he looked away. She too angled her body away from her before she blushed and banged her forehead against the hard cover of her book. Smooth move. Looking quite defeated, she crawled her way out of the library with her books before she chose to return a few weeks later. She felt more determined to not let the boy dominate her thoughts. No, she came here to read! And troll watch. She could see him out of the corner of her eye and the corner of her mouth twitched.

Sarise pressed her lips together before she forced herself to sit down at an empty table and open her book. Don’t look over there. Don’t look over there. Don’t look—Ah. Her gaze was pulled to the research section. She frowned nervously before burying her face with her book. He appeared rather studious. It must be of some importance since he rarely ventured into that section. A determined look entered her eyes as she picked up her things and strode purposefully toward him. Her shoulders were spread out apart and her mouth was set into a serious line.

Then her entire posture deflated and she quickly scurried into the next section. Nopenopenope.

C) Wave him over... carefully

Well, that had worked! So far, Lovrin had discovered that the best way to communicate with this lad was to stay casual and not act like anything unusual was going on. Nonetheless, she would keep a keen eye out for him. A very keen eye. She would oh-so-subtly watch his every move, making eye contact when he passed by. Make eye contact, smile. She would wait to wave till she managed to get contact for more than a few seconds. Ah, wait, there he was! She did everything by the book: eye contact, smile, wave. A shy wave, not one that was too extravagant. Maybe it would get his attention and make him at least say hello. Say yes... at least say hello... she thought to herself as she waved him over. Oh, great troll god, please let him come over! She may have looked calm and natural on the surface, but inside she was practically bursting at the seams with the sentiment of "please please please come over."

If you chose A.), and have less than 1 relationship point:
You stealthily creep through the rows of books, your light footsteps and the library's thick carpeting hiding any noise you'd be making. You're confident he hasn't seen you, confirmed by his gasp and startled jump when you quickly pull out the chair across from him and flop down in it. He quickly pulls the book he was reading to his chest, arms concealing the cover, and looks pretty uncomfortable as you greet him. He excuses himself and darts into an aisle, returning sans book, only to tell you he's not feeling too well and will be turning in for the night.
-1 Relationship Point

If you chose A.), and have 1 or more relationship points:
You successfully sneak up on him, and while he's so surprised he accidentally drops the book he was reading into his lap, he greets you with a sheepish grin. After some light smalltalk, he excuses himself to get a different book--he is here to study, after all. He returns with a copy of Wiggler's First Automatonic Cyborg Experiments, which is pretty cool, you didn't know he was into robotics. You two share a very pleasant night of research and conversation.
+2 Relationship Points

If you chose B.):
You begin studying on your own, with no real expectations, although maybe a bit of hope. It's pretty difficult to study knowing he's such a short distance away, and half an hour later, thoughts of him are kind of taking over your mind when you hear the chair across from you sliding out. You look up to find him asking if he can join you. You happily agree, and while the night is mostly quiet, with you learning some basic carpentry, and him studying cooking, it's still quite nice, and you feel a bit closer to him by the time he gets up to leave.
+1 Relationship Point

If you chose C.):
You spend several minutes keeping an eye on him so you can wave and gesture every time he lifts his attention from the book, but the guy never even looks your way, forget about noticing you. You finally give up and go back to your reading. Probably for the better anyway, you really did need to get some studying done.
+0 Relationship Points

If you chose D.):
After the fourth or fifth time you walk past him under the guise of forgetting to look for a book, he makes an irritated noise, shooting a less than endearing look at you, stands up, and quickly strides up to the front to check out whatever he was reading, leaving the library without a word. You guess he wasn't really in the mood, but that reaction kinda stings.

You weren't even trying to run into him tonight. You were just grabbing a drink at the best local cafe when he waved you over to one of the tables by the window. You join him, and you two share a short, but enjoyable conversation. A break in the discussion turns into a pause, which turns into an awkward lull. Awkward because your drinks are only halfway empty (or full depending on your outlook on life). You can't just sit here in silence until they're gone! You've gotta spark up conversation somehow.

A.) Ask him about his future--find out what he intends to do when he grows up! You actually don't know much about his aspirations and talents, and you read in one of those trashy magazines that talking about the future with someone you like makes them imagine you in theirs. Kind of sneaky maybe, but if it works, it works.

B.) Be a bit brazen, and bring up his romantic interests! Now that you think of it, you aren't even totally sure he isn't already seeing someone. Probably would be useful knowledge to have before doing anything rash, you think; and if he isn't, you might even be able to drop a hint in if the conversation allows!

C.) Ask what he likes doing aside from reading! This is the first time you've seen him doing anything just for fun outside the library, and learning about his interests could be nothing but helpful.

D.) See what he wants to discuss! Just sit back and wait for him to strike up conversation. You've been making all the moves so far, but if you keep going out on a branch to connect with him, you'll look desperate. Time for his turn in the hot seat.

C.) Hobbies are endlessly interesting [-1 + 2 = 1pt]

Arosia did not like the final nights of schoolfeeding. She didn't get the best sleep during that time, but thanks to her last failed encounter with Mister Precious Cutie, she had gotten some studying done. Still, she needed some energy if she was going to finish up the last round of study land adventures. So she had gone to her favorite cafe and ordered an energizing coffee beverage, and was about to leave, but saw something out of the corner of her eye.

No way. Mr. Precious Cutie was waving her over. She felt her bloodpump skip a beat and her cheeks flush a little, but quickly regained composure. Now was not the time to be fawning! He'd made a move, not was time to get her head in the game. Smiling, she walked over and sat down. Keeping her head in the game didn't mean she couldn't be a little flirtatious during their discussion, though! But all good things come to an end, and soon there was that dreaded awkward pause.

Arosia sipped at her drink a little, searching her thinkpan for topics. Oh if only she'd had more sleep! A horrible thought dawned upon her...she probably looked like some mangy purrbeast that hadn't been groomed in a long time. Lovely. The awkwardness of the pause was just getting worse by the second...! HOBBIES!

"S-s-so what do you like to do aside from reading? Hahaha, I see you there a lot so... uhh... y-yeah."

Arosia smacked her forehead mentally. That was so not smooth, or in the game. Her nervousness was showing through. She took a deep breath, subtly of course, and hoped for the best.

B] ==> Sail some ships! [-2 Points]

Parvat saddened as the green-blood skulked away. Well s**t....he'd thought that maybe being a little playful would score him some points. Maybe if he'd attempted to look more pathetic the troll would start to pity him? Or....maybe he just wasn't cute enough? NO! That was impossible, right? Parvat was just darling right? Well damn.....

Maybe what the green-blood needed was to talk about something interesting? Like ROMANCE! Plus......Parvat wasn't certain the troll was even single....it seemed rather foolish to continue harassing him if he was already taken....plus...well maybe he could slip in that he thought the green-blood was totes adorbs. Maybe in a...slightly....LESS than creepy way. He'd been pretty damned unnerving thus far, he needed to do something that was a little less the psychotic.

C)

Sarise yawned as she stumbled into a local café, a stack of papers tightly clutched in her hands. She sighed, shoulders drooping as she stared down at her own pieces of writing. This would certainly not do for a magazine article. Perhaps she should scrap it altogether and try a different topic? Frowning, she reread the article until someone caught her eye. Sarise jumped, but smiled timidly before sliding into the empty seat next to him.

“Hey,” she greeted softly as she slid her chair closer to the table.

She kept her gaze focused mostly on her lap as the conversation began to slow. Sarise bit her bottom lip. “Um…” She began to fidget. Her face lit up as she recalled he had been reading up on cooking the last time he had met. “So! Um. What kind of things do you like to do when you’re not reading?” She looked up at him. Hopefully the question would keep the conversation going.

Ah well. Knitty was pragmatic enough to pretend that the night wasn't a total failure. He did his reading and went home, a bit dissappointed.
He was less disappointed when his Lusus gave him a new ball of fluffyarn to play with, which meant a new sweater.
Knitty loved sweaters.
So, in all, the night wasn't too bad.

He had nearly forgotten about the whole thing when he suddenly ran into the greenblood at the Cafe. It was such a shock to see him here!
Knitty couldn't just let this slide- he walked right over in a rare show of bravery and sat down.

And, shockingly enough for Knitty, managed to have a great conversation! About nettlebeasts, somehow.
Neither particularly liked the painfully annoying creatures, though the greenblood didn't like how they crawled between the pages of his books and Knitty just didn't like them... in general.
How they had gotten on that subject, Knitty had no idea. But it was soon exhausted.
He sipped his drink, enjoying it, pretending that that was the reason for the silence.
He even tried to talk about the drink- His was a fruity mix with a bit of blood. Generally, one didn't ask about the blood, but the mix was a good one. The greenblood was drinking a, fittingly, green tea that smelled delicious and herby... Knitty almost wished that he had gotten that drink instead.
Turned out that the greenblood wasn't one to talk about his drink, which was a shame... drinkcraft was fun, or at least that was the impression Knitty had gotten when he had read that book on bartending.
The conversation spiraled into silence, and Knitty sipped his drink again, noting how still full it was.
That was no good!
He had to start the conversation back up again.
"So..." he started, putting his drink down and leaning in, "What do you want to do? You know, when you grow up?" he asked, smiling in a amiable way, "I plan on..." actually, what did he plan on doing? Knitty hadn't thought about it. "... Being a high-class bartender"
It was made up on the spot, but, as he thought about it, it didn't seem so bad...
Even though he had always thought he was going to be a tapestry artist.
Well, that could be his hobby. He smiled in his widest, friendliest way, and waited for the answer.

OPTION B
TELL ME OF THIS MAGICAL DISEASE CALLED FRIENDSHIP.

Oops. In retrospect, stalking may have not been the best course of action when attempting to foster a repartee with another person. Well. A positive repartee at least--if Eresit was going to be super obvious about it.

Unfortunately Eresit was far beyond switching quadrants on her target. It was red or dead in her opinion. Eresit was barely coping with that glare he sent her the other day for bothering him. Anything blacker and Eresit would just cry.

More. She would cry more.

Two nights had passed since... THE INCIDENT and Eresit was thoroughly done with feelings. Her eyes were sore, her recuperacoon full of tissues, and she wouldn't be able to pick up anymore books of sad poetry without going back to the library. Therefore her only option was to forget about Library-Boy and move on.

Wait, she hadn't eaten ice cream yet. One isn't allowed to have a sad breakup without eating a lot of ice cream first. The relationship was back on.

Eresit oozed out of her hive and into town. She knew of a cute cafe in the neighborhood that sold milkshakes at little round tables like they did in the old movies. Eresit wondered if she was under-dressed, having barely shaken the slime out of her hair and peeled a shirt off the floor.

Upon Eresit ordering her precious dairy-product, the cashier made a subtle motion to her horn. Eresit hesitantly mirrored the action and found a dried piece of tissue. Oh well. It wasn't like she was going to run into...

Going to run into...

Going...

Crap.

Eresit thought of ever curse word she knew and said none of them. HE was here. HE was sitting at a cute, round table. HE was waving her over.

Eresit back-peddled quickly--almost physically as she reared back a bit. Library-Boy was not only there, but motioning for her to come over to him! He might even want to talk!

He might have also been motioning at there being more bits of tissue in her hair, but Eresit wasn't about to take any chances. Steeling herself protectively around her milkshake glass, she marched over to the table.

Perhaps the most surprising turn of events thus far, Eresit and Library-Boy, now dubbed Cafe-Boy, managed to have a relatively normal conversation! Eresit managed to come up with a reasonable excuse for having been in the library in the first place, and Cafe-Boy turned out to be polite enough to not mention the laps Eresit ran around him the other day. And he didn't talk about the Juggalo thing! Eresit was smitten.

However all good things were destined to come to an end, and so too did the train of conversation. Eresit panicked internally at the drawn-out silence as she stabbed at her frozen milkshake dregs with her straw. There was no way she'd be able to inhale those and book it before things got awkward.

She hazarded a glance up at the boy. He didn't seem as uncomfortable as she did, but it was pretty apparent he was looking for something to focus on. Eresit blurted out the first thing that came to mind.

"QUADRANTS."

A beat.

Well, he was certainly focusing on her now. Eresit fidgeted her milkshake into whipped cream as she conversationally scrambled for purchase.

"QUA-- Cuuhh-- Er, I mean--! Yeah! Friends! Er something! I don't see you much outside of the library. Or ever I mean. Um. Do you have friends that you do stuff with!? NOT THAT I'M INSINUATING THAT YOU'RE UNLIKABLE. I'm just curious. 'Cos we're both here alone, and, also at the library."

Eresit ducked her head and mumbled an apology in case she was out of line. She didn't mean anything by it.

"S-Sorry. M-Making friends is hard. Sssoooo I spend a lot of time at the library and stuff. I was just wondering if you were in the same boat. Or if I'm just catching you on your days off 'nd you're usually off galavanting with your muh-matesprit."

Eresit figured she'd lost the battle of appearing cool a long time ago. May as well get a straight answer.

If you chose A.):
His eyes start looking anywhere but at you when you ask about his future. He says that he doesn't really know, he's not sure there's anything he likes doing enough that he would want to do it all day--every day--for the rest of his life, and he's never been much of a soldier, and his future actually makes him really nervous to talk about. You say oh. You both continue finishing your drinks in silence.
-1 Relationship Point

If you chose B.), and have less than 3 relationship points:
He blushes and stares down at his cup, and rather bluntly states that he isn't particularly comfortable discussing that with you yet. You begin missing the moments where the silence was only awkward because no one was talking. You make a couple more efforts to strike up conversation, but they die down quickly, and you part ways without really saying much else.
-1 Relationship Point

If you chose B.), and have 3 or more relationship points:
His face blushes green and he gives a small, shy smile as you ask about his quadrants. He says that while he has a moirail, none of his other quadrants are officially filled, although that isn't to say he doesn't have his eye on anyone. He bashfully grins down at his cup, giving you opportunity to subtly fist-pump. The conversation picks up from there, both of you seemingly spurred on by the good mood, and you leave the cafe much happier than you were when you walked in.
+2 Relationship Points

If you chose C:
He stumbles a bit on the answer, as though he's never really thought about it. Between the pauses and the vague non-answers, you learn basically nothing about what he likes to do, but the conversation more or less stays alive long enough for the two of your to finish your drinks.
+0 Relationship Points

If you chose D:
The silence continues for another minute or two before he suddenly asks if there's anywhere good to eat nearby. You pause for a second, startled at the abrupt question, before pouncing on it. You're a bit of a foodie to be honest, and while you try to refrain from listing too many of your favorite restaurants, you still give him a healthy number to choose from. You manage to ask if he wants to grab a bite to eat with you sometime. He tells you he'd like that.

A week has passed since you made a date with him. Well, it's a date to you. It's probably just two friends going out to eat together to him. But it's a date to you, and you're a full 50% of the group, which means you're halfway to both of you considering it a date. Probably. Maybe closer to 4/5ths of the way, but that might be kinda meta. You're rambling again. The point is, you're sitting across from that gorgeous specimen on your kinda-date, he was talking about how quickly you guys became friends, and now he's just asked you what made you approach him that day in the library to begin with. You swallow hard. What do you tell him?

A.) Be honest and tell him how you feel! It's been a few weeks since you've met, it wouldn't sound weird and stalkerish to confess at this point. Not to mention, the two of you have become pretty solid friends. Even if he didn't return the sentiment, it's not like he'd just drop you...right?

B.) Tell him he has a trustworthy face! Not in so many words of course, that's actually a really awkward phrase, but it's true; he really did look very amiable and approachable, and you're pretty sure you could convince him that it was just a matter of him being the friendliest face there.

C.) Deny everything! Well not everything, but, y'know, tell him it was just coincidence that got you two acquainted, nothing much beyond that. You don't think he's ready to hear about your feelings for him, and you don't want to push him away.

D.) There was just something about him! You may not be able to put it into words very well, but you felt drawn to him for some reason. Fate or destiny or whatever must really support this friendship! Hahaha...ha...haaaaa. Oh God. Try not to laugh like that when you actually explain it to him.

D] It's just a feeling, I swear!! [1pt u n u]

Arosia was absolutely ecstatic. She had managed to wrangle a date with Mister Precious Cutie, even if he wasn't really aware it was a date. No, it was totally a date! There was no denying the date-ness of this... date. Yeah.

She had spent hours getting herself ready, she wanted this date to be absolutely perfect. Though of course, the instant he popped the question of why she approached him, she clammed up. She stalled, running through all of their precious few encounters in the past. Honestly she hadn't done too well showing her feelings, and confessing now would seem like she didn't value him as a friend!

"O-oh... It was.... a feeling! Y-yes, a feeling. Hahaa, I can't really explain it but something just attracted me to you."

Oh, that hurt. That hurt so bad. But, Mister Precious Cutie probably wasn't ready to hear the truth just yet, and she DID value him as a friend even if she'd like him even more as a matesprit. So, putting up her best fake smile, she nodded along with that. Maybe if she just kept thinking that way he'd believe it and wouldn't second guess her explanation.

(3 points, A)

Walking into this... date... Knitty was aware, very aware, that he had screwed up a bit back there at the cafe. That was... understandable. The future was uncertain.
Then again, Knitty was even more sure about what he wanted to be. A Drinktender. Odd for a blueblood, but not TOO odd.
Ever since that day in the cafe, he had grown more and more certain.
He took out another book on drinkcraft and, another book on famous drinktenders, and had even started to practice drinkcraft on his lusus, who was very sweet about it at first, but eventually grew more and more annoyed.
Next hotseason, Knitty planned on trying to run a drink stand again. He would have the best damn drink stand in his neighborhood.
Not that anybody in the blueblood neighborhood ran drink stands, but hey. He'd have little competition.

Knitty talked about that for a while, talked about lusus care, cuisine, robotics (which Knitty knew little about but could at least listen).

Then the question came up. What had made him approach, that day in the library?
Knitty actually had trouble answering. He hedged a bit.
That day was a while ago. It was hard to remember.
"Well." he began, "It's hard to explain... If you're uncomfortable with it, it's fine... But I don't want to lie..."
Knitty took a drink and pushed his plate aside. He leaned in, emphasizing the importance of what he was about to say. "Whether this is where we're going with this or not, is up to you... but honestly, I..." Knitty's voice cracked. He was sure he was making a mistake. But he was a noble, honorable blueblood. Even if this was destined to just be a friendship... "Originally approached you... because I was attracted to you..." He drew back, fiddling with his horns, "But... we can just be friends, if you want that to happen... I just... would like to clear the air."

OPTION A
WHY THE HELL NOT.

"Ahaha... Oh yeah, yeah. Ain't no thing," Eresit recovered shakily at the immediate rejection of her admittedly terrible choice of conversation topic. "Sorry! I was just..."

Eresit trailed off and didn't say much else for the rest of the visit.

It wasn't until she was about to pick up her empty glass and slog her way home that Eresit noticed something in their chat.

"Not comfortable yet."

Eresit gave the boy a brilliant smile and asked him if he'd like to meet with her again sometime. This time for lunch.

For a week Eresit agonized over her upcoming date. (It was DEFINITELY a date!) She carefully plotted every potential conversation tree and rehearsed her menu orders. Forks are on the left, work your way inward with the cutlery, unfold your napkin as you go, use your pinkie finger as a cushion to lessen the sound of your glass as you set it down... She would not stutter and she would not shriek nouns when the conversation died down and she would--

Eresit stopped. Her bloodpusher was pounding and her eyebrows were twitching and she was just...

Why did she even care what she did? She was on a date to see him. All she'd done since she first said HELLO was whine and panic and mope about herself to herself. Where had that gotten her exactly? She got this date out of luck. Luck and what was probably platonic pity--worse even than platonic hate. Absolutely nothing good had come out of berating herself over every little, irrelevant detail. If Eresit couldn't trust herself to be likable, how could this other troll?

Eresit smoothed out her nice skirt and let the atmosphere of the restaurant around her blanket her thoughts.

She thought about the other troll. He was a nice thing to think about after all--not what she was going to say to him or how she'd manipulate him into taking an interest in her. Just. Him.

Eresit smiled up at her companion as he arrived to join her at her table.

It was a nice meal. The conversation was light and the food good. Everything arrived hot and on time, which was all Eresit really cared about at this point. She was having a good time, and as far as she could tell, so was her friend. She could definitely live with this.

Then he asked her why she approached him in the first place.

Well.

Wasn't that a story.

Eresit's eyes widened and her lips pursed. She hadn't anticipated that. This lunch date had gone completely off the rails and she hadn't even gotten a refill on her Alternian Soft Drink! She didn't have time to formulate an entire back-story for her inevitably bullshit answer! What was her motivation?! Should she try to play this off as a "just friends" thing or hint at something more? What degree of interest should she show!? How would she explain this and not sound like a liar, or worse, a stalker!? Was being perceived as a stalker really worse than a liar!? What would he think if he even caught her lying!? Why would she lie about something like that!? Could she dodge the question?! s**t she should have thought of that first how long had she been sitting silently for!? HE WAS LOOKING AT HER.

"I think I like you a lot."

Surprisingly, to Eresit most of all, she didn't seem the least bit unsettled, nervous, or hysterical. She seemed exceptionally at peace with the whole situation.

"Ahahaa... Yeah. I definitely do." She gave the boy next to her a sidelong glance and broke into a snicker. "Heh. That wasn't really your question though, was it? Hmm."

Now Eresit slid from lighthearted to genuinely thoughtful. Rude as it was, she leaned on her elbow at the table and examined the reflections of the restaurant in her fork.

"But I suppose it's still applicable. I took a look at you in the library that one day and just... liked you. How strange!" Eresit looked up from her fork to see if her companion was following. Smiling, she continued. "You know me well enough to know that I don't handle strange well. I was determined to figure out why I felt that way and what on Alternia I was supposed to do with it."

Eresit folded her other arm across the table and tapped at her black lips with the tines of her fork.

"From what I've researched... You're very cute." Eresit paused and raised an eyebrow slyly to see if she'd gotten a reaction before continuing. "You're also very smart. Not just smart because you were just hatched that way or because it's how you want to define yourself or anything... but you're very passionate about the things you like and treat your interests well by studying them."

Eresit laid her fork across her plate and folded both of her arms up under her chest as she leaned forward. She made to look like she was scrutinizing the boy across from her, but it was pretty obvious she was just doing it for dramatic flair.

"But you don't let them control you. You're not in the library to hide--just the opposite really." Eresit laughed fully this time, "You were open-minded enough to give ME a chance after all, and I have done nothing but make an idiot of myself since before we even officially met!"

She raised a pointer finger into the air and flicked it in the boy's direction.

"And I'm sorry to say--if I haven't weirded you out enough to finally ditch me--I'm not about to stop anytime soon."

With that, Eresit smiled gently and leaned back from the table. Her hands returned to her lap as a placating gesture. She certainly wasn't trying to put her friend in an awkward position, but she wasn't going to skirt her issues with him anymore. She'd done that enough already. Being neurotic hadn't done anything for either of them. If Eresit was going to make this poor boy uncomfortable, it wouldn't be because she was faint-hearted. She liked him! How was that bad?

D] ==> Lie through your teeth! [-3 Points]

Parvat winced as he once again trod all over a sensitive subject. It seemed like everything he said just furthered the green-blood's disinterest and probably growing disdain. But....that wasn't what Parvat wanted. He wanted the troll to pity him, not hate him.....ugh, it really wasn't going like he'd planned at all. After their conversation died once again, Parvat scooped up his belongings and scurried away, head tucked.

When they once again stumbled upon each other (Parvat didn't dare even think it was a date) he forced a polite smile....but when the green-blood asked him about why he'd happened upon him, Parvat paled. Friends......well that was honestly far better than he thought the green-blood felt. He swallowed down the growing lump in his throat so he could force some words out, he knew far better than to tell the truth....so he lied through his teeth. "Well I can't really tell you! You just looked like a really swell guy that would be a great friend. A real friendly guy that someone could have a great friendship with! Yup, friends are great." STOP SAYING FRIEND YOU RETARD!

Parvat bit his tongue, forcing himself to stop and just smile at the green-blood. Yep....now just wait for the impending 'you're such a creep'.....
