For a brief moment, Remarque regarded him carefully, as if trying to figure out if he had really hurt Virtus or not. The laugh finally convinced him of such and he nodded. "I wouldn't say you didn't do any damage," he mused. "You did pretty good. I'll probably bruise," he said, absentmindedly rubbing a hand over where Virtus had first struck him. "That last move, I like it. Just make sure you protect that belly of yours. And everything south of it. Leaves you a little open for attack, but otherwise, good job."
Was it enough to get Remarque to stop harping at him? For tonight, at least. Virtus had performed much better than he had expected, so he nodded quite approvingly. "I'm starting to think I won't have to worry about you so much after all. In fact, I'm starting to think that if you wanted to fight, you'd be a force to be reckoned with. But, if you want to stick to healing, I'm sure as hell not going to stop you. Especially if you heal better than you spar."

"I think I do!"
He said, laughing. He was pretty sure, anyway, that he healed better than he sparred. He certainly hoped so, that was the whole point. But even if he didn't he definitely put all his effort into it. And that was really all he could give, which made him feel good.
And this whole sparring had made him feel even better. He was getting better! Remarque said so! He had some good notes, too, which helped him as well. He smiled and chuckled.
"If you want me to heal your bruises I can!"
Though for himself, Virtus imagined hugging his bunnies would make him feel more better off than anything else.

Remarque waved his hand dismissively. "Save it. I appreciate the gesture, but on the off chance you find someone else who needs it more than I tonight, I'd rather you not have already worn yourself out. I'm sure there will be another day you get to show off that trick of yours, but for now I'm just gonna trust you."
He offered a light clap on the shoulder—the closest thing to physical affection that he was willing to give another male—and then took a step back. "That in mind, though, if I've got no reason to nag about you being out here by yourself, I might as well leave you to your own affairs and get back to my own. You did good, Virtus. Very good. So keep up the good work, you're making me proud."
Pride, of course, being something Remarque had a lot of himself. For a long while he'd considered Virtus to be the weakest link—but after this, he couldn't really. He hadn't flopped over or started wailing; he'd stood his ground—and well.

Virtus nodded. It was a good point, though he doubted that he would run into anyone, you never really knew and it was good to be prepared. He smiled, glad he had someone looking out for people in need along with him.
Made the job easier.
He felt like his chest was going to burst.
"I'll keep working hard Remarque!" It was one thing to make someone proud, it was another to keep them that way. And he wouldn't let the other down, not now or ever.
Smiling he backed up, in the direction of his house.
"I'll see you again soon! Stay safe!"

"Yeah, yeah. Will do. You, too, Virtus." Remarque held up a hand—a simple wave—and then turned in another direction. Speaking with Virtus had left him a little more motivated to go out and collect some energy; soon, he figured Virtus was going to be the same rank as him and, while he could be proud of the senshi, his pride wouldn’t let him start slacking because of it.
Plus, his pockets were feeling a little light; he was looking forward to picking up some extra cash. He just had to find someone with as much money as energy and he'd be good to go.
