"Yes, I like tea." It was about all the drank back at the city. Even in Isambard's home there seemed to be a kettle permanently over the stove. "Lead the way young Asedri."

Asedri would lead him through a section of the marketplace to a little cafe. It was so small that if one was not paying attention they might overlook it. "I ran in here once to hide, when I was in trouble as a little girl." It wasn't a lie, the only oddity in the fact she had been a little girl until not so long ago. She smiled sheepishly and pushed the door open. "We won't be interrupted in here."

Ifan followed after the girl to the small cafe. It was non descript and he could certainly believe that they would not be interrupted. It was the kind of place where people minded their own business.
Ifan found an empty table and took a seat. So his instincts were right, she was like him too.
"So you have one too?"

Asedri sat down across from Ifan and smoothed her skirts. "I do."

The place was mostly unoccupied except for them and a woman at the counter reading a book. She would put a slip of paper in the book to mark her place before getting up and heading back into the kitchen. The same woman would emerge a few minutes later bearing a tray with a pot of tea and two cups. She seemed just fine until she reached the table and got one look at the young woman who sat across from Ifan. In her surprise she nearly dropped the tray. "Asedri?"

"Rozika." She smiled and reached out to steady the woman. The fact that the last time this woman had seen her a few weeks ago she had still been a child.

The shop woman's reaction was surprising. She clearly knew Asedri but was shocked to see her. Then again, if she had been taken by a god then she might have been gone, like him.
Ifan stood too, took the tray and placed it on the table.
"Are you okay?" He asked the lady.

Rozika calmed down after a couple of moments more and she smiled politely at Ifan. "Yes...thank you, young man." It was probably a good thing he had taken the tray too, with the way her hands were shaking. Once the tray was safely on the table her attention went back to the young woman. "Asedri...what happened to you?"

Asedri chewed on her lower lip, a bad habit that despite her sudden growth she had not lost. Said bad habit might make her seem more childish than she appeared to be. "It is a long story...but I am okay, I promise."

So the plot thickened. Ifan would be lying if he said he wasn't curious about what had happened to the young woman. The woman, Rozika seemed more than a little shaken to see her.

He waited patiently for the two women to speak and reached for some tea.
"A friend of yours then?"

"Yes, she used to look after me sometimes, when I was little." Along with a handful of the other street rat children. She twisted a newly loosened curl around her finger, not quite sure how to explain all of this as it seemed there would be no help forthcoming from Keme for the time being.

"Which was not so long ago."

"Something in me changed...and the rest of me had to catch up with it." The pleading look she gave Rozika was telling her not to panic. That it really was fine.

"The last time I saw you was a few weeks ago...you were so small then and now this?" She would have not thought it possible in such a short space of time. Yet here was the proof right in front of her.

Ifan watched the exchange between the two women. Something in her changed. He could imagine what that might be. Though his had not altered him outwardly. That was interesting he placed the flower she had given him on the table and took a sip of his tea whilst he waited.

Ifan's thoughts were partially correct. It was something Keme had done that triggered it. "It is a difficult thing to explain."

Thankfully Asedri was saved when another customer came in and Rozika went back to her usual upbeat self- though it was hard for her to mask the concern in her eyes. "Come and talk to me later, once you are done chatting with this handsome young man of yours." She nodded to Ifan and turned away to greet the ones who had just come in.

Asedri sighed. "Sorry, I wasn't expecting that. I had forgotten she did not know." Finally she got around to pouring and sipping her own tea.

Ifan gave the lady a charming grin as she called him handsome. He really couldn't help himself.
"So, who chose you?" He asked, leaning his arms on the table. "I guess it had some effect on you? Taking the gem?"

She laughed, covering her mouth politely with her hand. I do believe Rozika thinks he is my date.

You can correct her or not, as you choose.

"It did." Asedri sipped her tea again, pondering how to answer the other part of his question. "Lady Mystery, Keme." Blue eyes would look at him over the teacup. Her next question was offered in lieu of the goddess she bore asking him instead. "And you?"

Mystery, that was pretty interesting.
"Um, Isambard, Industry." He said the name softly, he was quite happy not to stir the god within him. It was nice to have his own voice for once. "So uh, can I ask how it happened? I understand it's different for eveyone. Some make a choice ... some don't."

"Mhm..." From the noise she sound intrigued by said god. What Ifan may not notice was the subtle difference in voice, that would've alerted him that was the goddess and not the girl.

Asedri did not seem to have noticed, or at least did not seem bothered by it, at all. "She was given to me by someone very dear to me. I made the choice to accept her." The choice had been made subconsciously long before she actually voiced her acceptance and placed the gem. "It was not the same for you?"

Ifan shook his head. He had noticed the change in her voice, it was the same with all of them. The god overriding the person.
"Not really. Though once a god has made its choice, does anyone have a choice." He sipped his tea. "What made you choose this ... sacrifice."
