The alarms were never a good sign. Trouble for sure. She didn't bother to sigh or lament it. It was just fact. A fact several other hunters seemed to know, too, seeing as the halls were packed. Whispers were flying, and Sherry might have done a bit of backtracking in order to make a pit-stop in her dorm room. If they were really going to Alaska, she wanted to try and be warm. She threw on an extra layer and large sweater before scooping up her coat, her flask, and a set of runic bandages and running the rest of the way to the gathering. Armagnac buzzed with excitement the whole time.
It was hectic as ever, so Sherry set about making sure she was prepared before she worried about finding anyone she knew. Headset acquired, she didn't have to look far to find a couple of familiar faces. What luck! They were even near each other. She pushed her way through the crowd until she found herself standing rather next to two of her favorite people.
"Ofie! Jake! Hi!" She didn't really know what else to say. She hadn't spoken to Ofelia much since their spar, and Jake was well, Jake. She was still glad to see them both.

At least Ofelia was happy to see her. Sherry hadn't been there for more than a moment before she was beaming at Ofie and trying her best to return the hug. "It's fine! The infirmary isn't exciting, so you didn't miss much. It did scar, a little bit. But nothing to worry to about!" She grinned to emphasize the point. She didn't want her dear Ofie to feel bad about it. As far as Sherry was concerned, it was her fault not Ofie's.
The red-head's next line of questioning only made her smile bigger. "I did! New coat and all!" Her glee was evident. "This'll be my first big mission since getting the new coat. I hope it doesn't get too dirty." It was a silly hope, but the coat was still shiny and new, ok.
Sherry frowned. "And Ofie's right, Jake, you really--" she turned just in time to see the death trainee walking away from them. Oh. Well then. Her feelings were almost hurt, but she wasn't about to let that show. It was Jake, and she really should expect it. She rolled her eyes, fully resolving to keep an eye on the brat. She turned back to Ofie. "He's a stubborn one, isn't he?"
Sherry shook her head and fiddled with her headset. "This mission looks like a major one. Have we heard any details?" She doubted Ofie had heard any more than she had, but it never hurt to ask.
Rown Sherry <3 Ofie forever~~ And omg. I almost typed Cherry like a million times. Best name ever. <3
[A.V.] She <3 Jake, too. Even if he's a grump.

Marcus didn’t like the fact that he had to put down the wiring he was busy working on. Capping it off, the moon looked to the other around him, all very nervous. It was time to go and seek death. Coat was already on, his side pack filled with the basic essentials. Daggers checked out, he arrived with the few other moons, each one beginning the habitual lookdown for who’d they’d take up defending on the battlefield. It was something of second natural almost. Even for him, on probation, he was just falling into the routine. Find your target to defend. Stick with them. A Class A mission, horsemen, headsets. Alaska. Quickly he was moving back, rushing to one of the supplies closests, seeking out gloves. Last pair, another moon behind him, made a sound of disappointment. Great minds thought alike. Workman’s gloves wouldn’t be the best for the cold, but they were better than nothing. Getting layered up was likely pointless. Too many layers, too little experience fighting in them. It would hinder more than help. Moving his body would ignore the chill mostly You expect to die Desidero sounded bored, almost reluctant. He’d been ignoring the vampire for the most part, the two still not on talking terms. And if I am? Don’t. Then silence, the vampire back into the abyss of his own mind. Gravitating to his usual defendee of choice Marcus gave Gale a small nudge. “Looks like it’s back into the lion’s den.”
----------------------------- Solia was one of the ones who jumped, screams a bit at all the alarms, then just got shuffled around. She got that the mission was in Alaska. So when she arrived- She looked a tad poofy, layered up and appearing a bit like a marshmallow more than hunter. She even found goggles in case there was snow! Still, she was smiling. An A Class mission was important, even if there would be ponies. Looking around, she saw the best group ever. A group of death trainees. And an Ofelia! “HI GUYS!” She grabbed a head set on her way, bumping into a few other hunters. “Hey hey so, Alaska a question.” She was so punny. “You guys all ready for this?”

Ofelia just snuggled Sherry closer as she could, pleased that the smaller girl was so forgiving. Most people would hate anyone who hurt them badly and seeing as there'd been tons of blood she wouldn't have blamed her. Still it was wonderful, she felt happy, and the redhead could only muster a smack on the back as a way of saying congratulations. "Ah'm really proud'a ya, Ah know yer gonna do yer jacket well. an' if there's snow up there Ah doubt yer gonna get dirty unless ya bleed everywhere, so jus' be careful?" Ofelia wasn't good at cheering people up because she was a bit too blunt. She barely remembered the arctic, save for the sled ride and tentacles, so there was that too. Maybe it was for the best? She was stronger now, so was Rue, so perhaps this time she'd be one of the ones pulling the others, not being carried away.
She was still in that line of thought when a loud and cheery voice called out, prompting the teen to turn and look. "Oh, Solia! Howdy ta ya too~" Ofelia was pleased to be surrounded by a few people she liked, she spotted more sneaking in too, and she patted the other girl on the head with an affectionate gesture. "Cherry here was jus' askin' 'bout that too, an' dun mind Jake - boy was born sour, Ah swear." A hand was waved in the direction Jake had wandered too and the older hunter just shook her head. "Cherry, keep an eye on him fer me, okay? He seems ta like ya better than he likes me at least an' he's gonna need protection. The a*****e types always do."
"As fer the mission, it's gonna be cold an' dark. Last time we were there it had a titan thing, mostly jus' a mass'a tentacles. Nearly killed Dr. H or whatever an' most'a us got torn up pretty bad." She was trying to be positive and that was hard, okay. "Supposedly we're gonna go check the base, looks like some'a the pony people got ta it, an' from there Ah dunno. What's important is we follow orders, stick tagether, an' jus' keep goin'. We'll pull through, Ah got no doubt'a it." She moved to brush her hair back and the bracelet she thought was hidden on her clothes slid into plain view of the two girls.

"I'll be careful," Sherry nodded some more. She had no intention of bleeding all over her new coat. None. She liked it shiny and white.
"Hey!" She returned Solia's greeting, and she gave the girl an enthusiastic wave. Large mission to a cold, icy place with talk of horsemen, and Sherry just couldn't wipe the smile off of her face. Terrible things were likely to happen soon, but right now, she was just really happy to see everyone. They were awesome people.
Even Mr. Grumpy. "I'll do my best to watch him," she said to Ofie. She wouldn't let Jake out of her sight if she could help it, but she knew how things went. Ofie was right, he was hot headed, and would like go charging off alone first chance he got. His reaction only served to confirm her assumptions.
A shiver ran up her spine as Ofelia continued talking. "I remember that titan thing. And the ice." She hated that ice; she'd run on it forever.
She smiled at Solia. "At least you look prepared. The cold was awful last time." Not as bad as the monster, but still, bad. Sherry hoped her own sweater would be enough to help. At least one of the new kids seemed to have a brain when it came to being ready for missions.
"Yep," she agreed wholeheartedly with Ofelia. "Gotta stick together. We'll get through this just fine." As an afterthought she glanced at Jake, "And that includes you, grumpybutt." Friends had to stick together. Sherry was determined to see that all of her friends made it through this.
"This seems major," she was talking to the girls again. "But we should be able to handle it." Even her weapon had to admit Sherry was really good at hoping.

"They can ******** try." came a gruff snarl next to Harrison.
Rep couldn't help the way the summons to fight got his blood pumping, at the prospect of a battle he was like a sled dog pacing in the traces, he probably should have been afraid, he wasn't. As long as he had his people alongside him, he was confident they'd win, the ******** ponies wouldn't stand a chance and he would get a chance to spill whatever passed for the ******** blood.
Alaska didn't scare him either, most of his missions had been to the Arctic or the Antarctic. He knew what to expect from blistering ******** cold, he hadn't rushed straight to the gathering, he'd taken his time. He dressed in layers, several, t-shirts and even one of his own wool jumpers he'd stopped to pick up. Socks, also layers. He even wore, in addition to his usual scarf, the dragon one the mysterious person he'd been writing to had knitted for him. Over it all he donned his jacket. Retrieving the rest of his gear from the quartermaster, he picked up his backpack, stashed with rations, chocolate and a flask of whisky. He was going out there damn ******** prepared.
He checked out his bandages too, even with Harrison by his side, he didn't want to be helpless if other people got injured in the fray.
Even despite the gravity of the situation, he felt invincible, the moon hunter got a smirk.
"Aye, we can help it be one big ******** pony Christmas special. Fit to warm the heart."
He tucked his earring into his scarf, he wasn't leaving it behind.

Robert was ready. He was so ******** ready.
He was also completely and utterly overdressed. And he was DYING INSIDE ALL OF IT.
Today, Petra had dressed him. And since he had the bad habit of wearing a t-shirt and jeans to sub-zero temperatures before, she'd bundled him up so tight he felt like a snowman. He toddled in, covered head to toe in scarves, gloves, wool hat, and just like four pair of pants or some kind of really thick pants. Whatever it was, he looked ridiculous.
So really, the same as usual.
A muffled, but excited sound came out of him as he tried to grab his headset, and then handed it over to Eva. He bent inwards.
Yes, he needed you to put his headset on for him. Help.
