"Rest easy," Slips assured her. "I want nothing from you in return." He thought about that for a moment before adding, "Actually, I would consider myself repaid if you simply never mentioned my involvement in this to anyone."
He had a reputation to maintain, and helping pregnant mothers-to-be was not something he wanted people to know he did under any circumstance. It would definitely ruin the reputation he and his brothers had made for themselves since returning to the Stormborn. They didn't mind if people thought them strange, even queer and twisted, but if word got out that they were known to perform random acts of kindness...no. That would be completely unacceptable.
"One...two...three!" He pushed upward with all his might and felt something shift. He hoped it would be enough, because he couldn't really lift any higher than he was and he couldn't hold this position for very long. "Move."

"Consider it done." She purred, and at his signal she gave her foot a good tug, ignoring the commanding tone he'd decided on. She was relieved when her foot became dislodged, laughing aloud and moving a safe inch or two away from her previous entrapment, "I'm out. I live to fight another day." She thought about what the dark lion had asked of her and quickly glanced in his direction, "I think it'd be best if this day just... didn't... occur..." Screw the reputation, that wasn't her reasoning. Freyja just HATED that she'd gotten herself stuck and relied on a lion for help. She was much more comfortable being the aggressive and pregnant lioness that no one dared to cross on a bad day. She approached Solvslips, her nose wrinkling as if a foul taste had entered her mouth, and she avoided his gaze as she spoke, instead facing the ground to hide the grimacing features, ".....Thanks." She hoped to never say the word again in her lifetime.

"As far as I'm concerned, it didn't," he told her. "You will be able to get back to the pride unassisted, I assume."
He did not respond to her thanks or in any way acknowledge that she had thanked him. It was obvious to him that she was uncomfortable being in a position where she had to ask for help and then thank someone for their assistance. He wasn't going to prolong her discomfort.
"Take care," he said. It came off as a command again. He wasn't very good at not putting things in the form of commands.
