Solo #1- A New Life for Fluff A cheery blue room seemed to have all kinds of stuffed animals, everything from stuffed bears to horses you could cuddle. The room looked like it could not contain anything that was not bubbly, but currently the room housed a very unusual boy that seemed to be in very low spirits. He was sprawled across the bed, his brown striped tail lying limply over the side. His black ears were flattened against his head and his brown eyes were swallowed up by the pillow the boy’s head was buried in. What could possibly make such a cute looking boy look so miserable and not want to enjoy all of the plush toys? A week ago, the young boy had been part of a rich family with a young girl that he loved so very much. He did not think anything would ever change; he would always have his best friend, Julie by his side, ready to take on any adventure together. They would continue to learn about the world around them and perhaps they would get to go on a journey, like they read about in story books. He had been so looking forward to learning more about dancing and maybe learning about some of the other kinds of Pokemon. How could the young Fluffernutter have ever known that his world would change in one fateful day? Fluff had been sleeping peacefully in his bed, when Julie had come into the room crying. Fluff had sat up in concern, never liking it when Julie cried; she was usually as bubbly as he was. She had explained to him that her parents were having them move away and that she didn’t want to drag him so far away. Fluff told her he wanted to stay with her, but she told him it wouldn’t be fair of her to drag him all the way to another country. She assured him that he was going to a wonderful family, one who had Poke kids like himself, so the trainer of those Pokemon would know how to care for him. She had gone on to explain that the woman that was going to adopt him was the daughter of a professor and was a very special lady. Fluff had started to cry and Julie had handed him a stuffed penguin that was one of her favorite ones, telling him he needed it more than she did. She had hugged him and told him she loved him, making him promise he would try to remain his lovable self and to share the love with his new family. Then she had taken him to his new home, making sure to tell his new trainer everything she could. Fluff had watched from the window when she left and just sat staring out the window for quite a few hours. He only came out of the room to go to the bathroom, have some food to eat, and out of curiosity when he heard strange noises he had not heard before, like the monster that they fed clothes to. Now, the small Sentret boy picked up his head and looked around the room, seeing the stuffed penguin that Julie had given him near his pillow. He sat up and reached for it, squeezing it tightly, feeling a little bit better with this ‘piece’ of Julie he carried with him. He decided he needed to come out of his room and stop moping, knowing this was not what Julie would want for him. His new family seemed to be really nice and he wanted to show them he appreciated them taking him in. He gently placed his penguin back near his pillow and propelled himself off his bed, already having a slight spring in his step as his mind raced with all the different possibilities he could do to make it up to his new family for being such a sourpuss for the past week. He bounced over to the door as the excitement started to build within him and flung open the door leading out of his room. His black ears snapped to attention on the top of his ears, starting to scan the house for any sounds that might indicate where any of the members of his family could be. He shivered in fear when he heard what sounded like an Ursaring’s growls coming from one of the rooms. He worried that one of the bear Pokemon had snuck into the house and attacked his new family. Fluffernutter arrived to one of the rooms on the far side of the hall and cautiously opened the door, peeking in through the crack he had made. He didn’t see any signs of anything, so he opened it further, wide enough for the small Poke boy to walk inside. He crept forward, his eyes scanning for any sort of threat, his ears listening for the growling sound he had heard before. He soon arrived at a bed and saw someone sound asleep and he realized the sound was coming from the figure. Was something wrong with the person, were they terribly sick? “ Excuse me, are you okay? I heard a strange noise. I thought it was an Ursaring. I came in here and found you sleeping,” Fluff said with worry in his voice, shaking the person’s shoulders. A groan could be heard as the person turned around and stared sleepily at the boy with confused blue eyes. “ I am fine, Fluff, I was just sleeping, since I had been up late last night taking care of Dea. She wasn’t feeling well, so Kidd and I took turns watching over her,” the boy explained. Fluff looked concerned when he heard his new trainer was not feeling well, remembering when Julie had been sick before. The servants had made her eat what Julie said was Chicken Noodle soup and she could watch television in her room. “ Is Dea okay, Eilam?” Fluff asked with worry. “ Yeah, she will be fine, Fluff, she just needs to get some rest. Oh and the noise you heard, that was me snoring. You might want to get used to it, since when we travel, you probably will be able to hear it more pronounced. It does not mean anything is wrong, it is just something a lot of humans do, well and some Pokemon,” Eilam explained to the young boy. “ Oh, okay, never heard it before. I guess Julie never snored before. Well, I will let you go back to sleep. I am sorry for waking you up, Eilam,” Fluff apologized, his head hung in shame. “ No, it is alright, you did not know what it was, that is understandable. Since I am awake now, let us go make Dea something to eat together. I am sure she will be glad to see you have come out of your room,” the Arceus boy smiled. “ Okay, sounds like a good idea. I will do anything to make Dea feel better. It is the least I can do when she took me in. Just tell me what to do, never made food before,” Fluff piped up. He still could not believe that the person before him was an Arceus, he seemed so normal to him. Of course, when he had met Eilam the first day, the teen boy had assured him that he really was like everyone else. The older boy had gone on to explain that he had people he cared about, he had a trainer, and he liked things others did too. “ No worries, I will be glad to help you, since even I had to learn how to make food. Come on, let us go to the kitchen and get some food ready. Make sure not to make any loud noises, I know Dea and Kidd are asleep in their room and I think Lucy is too. She helped us out some last night as well, but Kidd finally told her to go to bed,” Eilam smiled as he got out of bed and led the way to the kitchen. “ I am sorry that I did not help,” Fluff stated sadly. “ Hey, don’t worry about it, you needed to get used to being here, Fluff. We all understand that, it is never easy becoming part of a family you know nothing about,” Eilam assured. “ Eilam, is that you?” a weak voice came from down the hall, this one clearly female. “ Yeah, was just taking Fluff to make some breakfast,Dea. Something you needed or were you just being Mama Hen worrying about her chicks?” Eilam called back. “ A little of both, old friend. Do you think you could bring me some apple juice when you are done, I am thirsty. Also, try to get Fluff some of his favorite snack we have talked about,” Dea’s voice replied, definitely some strain to it. “ Alright, will do on both accounts, you get some rest until breakfast is ready,” Eilam called back. Fluff seemed to like the conversation between the two, seeing now how much this family really cared for each other. He watched as Eilam entered the kitchen and put some bread into the toaster and cracked some shells, to make some eggs. He had Fluff help him make the breakfast, explaining anything Fluff did not know and telling him little more about his new family. When they were finished, Eilam got out a jar of Marshmallow Fluff and a jar of peanut butter and made a sandwich with them. Then he handed them to Fluff, whose eyes seemed to twinkle as he began to eat it. “ Thank you, Eilam. This tastes delicious,” Fluff thanked the Arceus teen. “ You are quite welcome,” Eilam smiled, sensing this was the start of a wonderful friendship with his new brother. Fluff spent the rest of the day with his new family, starting to feel like a real part of it. When he went to bed that night, he wondered what tomorrow would bring. He curled up in his bed with the stuffed penguin in one hand and a stuffed horse that Dea had gotten him. He was soon fast asleep, dreaming about the adventures he would have with his family.

Skill Learning: Opps, I Didn't mean to Do that! Fluffernutter was outside the Longabaugh home, in the backyard. He knew his trainer/mother was worried about her husband, which she had not heard from in awhile. So all the kids decided to let her have the house to herself, Eilam even taking the twins to the park. Fluff had volunteered to stay nearby, in case the matriarch needed anything. Fluff felt bad she was in her wheelchair again and he wished there was something he could do. Paian, who Fluff had just met, figured the stress had brought the symptoms back. Fluff was so sad, he knew his mom had been doing so well too, walking again. Well, he would do anything he could for her, he loved her very much. Right now, the Sentret child was dancing, he had gotten better at it since he started to take classes Dea had signed him up for. He loved it, it seemed to be a wonderful use of his energy. His family had told him it had calmed him down quite a bit and focused him. He was still a positive thinker, but he was able to channel it a lot better. He had also started to talk more normally, though he could use his small sentences when he got really excited. Fluff turned on his boombox, putting on some nice classical music. He directed his ears to the house quickly, just to make sure Dea didn't need anything, before turning back to his music. He extended his arms, like he had a partner, before breaking into a waltz. He looked so graceful as he did it, he really had learned a lot in his classes. He had put a lot into the lessons too, since he enjoyed it. The music stopped a little later and he realized he needed something to drink. So he was just about to head into the house to get some lemonade and check on his mom, when he heard a noise in the bush. He turned around to see what looked like a black hat with an R on it, it was a Team Rocket hat. He knew it wasn't Kidd, he wouldn't sneak like that. He didn't like someone lurking around, he needed to do something. " Who are you and what do you want? I won't let you hurt my mom, so go away! DEA!!!!"Fluff shouted. Much to his surprise, his scream at the end damaged the bush and a groan could be heard. He hurried over to the bush and saw a very dazed man in a Team Rocket uniform. It was then that Dea came wheeling out of the house, a look of concern on her face. " Fluff, are you okay?"Dea asked, concern in her voice. " I am okay, Mama. This guy isn't, I don't know how, but my scream hurt him. How?"Fluff asked. He saw his mother look at the rocket guy, then back at him, looking surprised. Then she seemed to be deep in thought about something. " I think you just learned Hyper Voice, Fluff. We will have to train you with it, but I am proud of you,"Dea smiled. She hugged the boy gently. " Thanks Mama! We should see what that man was doing here. Maybe..hey, he's gone!"Fluff began, until he turned to where the man had been. He must have slipped off when their attention was diverted on the move he had used. " Hopefully he won't be coming back anytime soon. Your scream might have scared him off. Come on, let's head in, just in case,"Dea suggested. Fluff looked back at the spot one more time, before following his mom inside.
