Camilla was used to coming in daily for 30minutes up to an hour, usually in the early mornings, but there were anomalies like today. Sometimes she just felt like working out and came anyways. It was a nice habit of her to gain to keep from staying in her dorm room too long.
"Thank you for offering lessons. I'd be glad to come around when you do. It's the least I could do!" Camilla smiled, happy to have more teachers. She wasn't the smartest person when it came to books, but she did love doing things and she normally did them pretty well. "And that sounds good to me!"
She lifted up her arms as is in ready to throw a punch and grinned at Aubrey. "So... What first, Miss Aubrey?"

"I try to make it here Monday and Friday evenings at least, so we can start from there." Aubrey responded with a nod.
"Anyway, In Aikido a lot of the blocks are transferred into grabs or holds so that you can better neutralize your opponent. You want to keep in mind fluidity of motion, one action will lead directly into another. So if you were to throw a punch at me I might side step the original punch and lead it away from myself before twisting your arm behind your back and have you pinned on the ground” Aubrey said as an example.
“If you’d like to attack me I can show you how it works, then you can practice on me.” Aubrey told her standing in a defensive position before gesturing for her to attack.

"Mmkays! Mondays might be a little bit harder for me because of school work, but I should be able to finish everything! We should exchange numbers later!"
Camilla listened carefully as Aubrey talked and tried to imagine what was happening in her head. It all seemed basic enough in her head, but she kind of wished there was a third person; she'd be able to see the movement better from a third person point of view, but either way, Camilla was going to get this down. She smiled confidently at Aubrey. "Gotcha!"
She was a little bit afraid of having to be the practice dummy, mostly because Camilla wasn't sure what was going to happen, but in her head, she repeate 'no pain, no gain' in her head over and over again. With her arms up in the ready, she swung a punch with her right hand, aiming for Aubrey's right shoulder.

"We can figure that all out once we finsh up here today." Aubrey agreed as she waited for the attack. When the attack came Aubrey moved slowly so that Camilla would be able to see what she was doing.
Aubrey sidestepped to the left, blocking the punch with her right hand, she continued the movement up and around to the right so that her hand slid until it could grasp Camilla's wrist, she continued the movement as she gently twisted her arm backwards, and used her left hand to apply pressure to the girl's shoulder, not enough to hurt, but enough to bring her down to her knees.
"With that movement you can bring someone down without too much strength, it's all about knowing the right places to apply pressure to give you the best leverage over someone." She had the girls arm straight back with her left hand behind her shoulder blade. "With this move if I was applying more pressure I could potentially dislocate your shoulder, but it would definitely hurt a lot, if it isn't enough to stop someone, you can also twist the wrist a little to put on a little more pain." Aubrey stopped applying pressure and helped the girl to stand.
"There are a lot of moves like that, but you have to be able to use your own judgment when facing opponents, whether or not you can contain them, if they greatly out match you, one of the best things to do is get them down as quickly as possible and then run."

Camilla watched carefully as she watched her own movements and compared them to what Aubrey was doing. She had to admit that although she appreciated what her friend had taught her before, Camilla was even more excited to further her skills. "This would definitely impress Remarque next time we meet up!"
She realized that she was getting a slight bit distracted, but then Camilla started to repeat words that she saw in her head. "Sidestep, block, wrist, twist, shoulder..." Camilla could feel the slight strain in her shoulder, causing her to give in and end up on her knees. She was definitely glad that Aubrey wasn't hurting her.
"That does seem nice... I don't have to be too strong for it. Well, at least I think it's possible to use that on someone stronger than me?" Camilla half said, half asked Aubrey that. When Aubrey let go, Camilla stretched her shoulder and back just a bit, to relax her muscles again.
Camilla had to admit, she was unsure if she could do it. It seemed simple enough, but it was definitely something new to her. "Do you really think I can do something like that? Maybe I could try it on you and you can tell me if I'm doing it right?"

Aubrey was happy to find someone that wanted to learn from her, when she taught someone else it helped her work on her technique also, but since she moved here she hadn't found anyone to work with yet, and her sisters were definitely not interested in it the way she was.
"Yes this style of fighting is a way to be able to take on larger opponents, these types of holds are good for neutralizing a large opponent, like in a bar brawl, someone who's 300 pounds you will have a more difficult time throwing them around then just pinning them."
"It's also a good idea to learn the pressure points in the body, so even if you can't execute a full throw or hold you can at least cause enough pain to be let go of. I like to try and teach them to other women I meet so I know they can defend themselves at least a little if they were attacked."
Aubrey nodded, "I would like you to try it so that I know you can properly execute the move, otherwise you could end up hurting your opponent more than you intended to or not enough, or just end up hurting yourself." Aubrey responded as she offered her hand to the girl so she could practice the move, she also spoke the directions out loud to help her concentrate on what she was doing to better understand the move.

"Okay," Camilla said, nodding. "I'll try my best! It seems like the pressure points might be easier than what you just did. I will do it either way! Even if I'm bad at it, at least I'll know I'm bad at it!"
Camilla thought back and tried to remember each of the movements that Aubrey had made. She didn't remember how far or the exact movements of each part of the body, but Camilla could remember the general movement of it. There was no way that she would be as graceful as Aubrey when she did it.
"I think I'm ready. You have the first move, right?" Camilla could feel her heart pumping harder in her chest, adrenalin rushing. "I can do this... I can do this!"
Her parents always encouraged her to learn more, and Camilla never stopped. There was never enough that she could learn! Camilla only found it difficult to find mentors... Sometimes!

ATh e a r t eeek! sorry kinda lost this in the thread Aubrey nodded and initiated the attack slowly, leading the girl through the steps so that she would learn how they feel and not hurt herself or Aubrey too badly by a poorly executed move. After the hold was completed properly Aubrey stood off of the ground and dusted herself off.
"Now I'll give you some basic knowledge of pressure points so that you can use them if you get in trouble." Aubrey then proceeded to show the girl what she knew, going through several pressure points on the arms and hands, neck, back and legs. She also instructed in the event of an attack to pinch as hard as she could in the knot of muscles on the inside of the upper arm or thigh, whichever she could get at, as well as the whole SING method of self defense.
Aubrey enjoyed teaching the girl what she knew, and she felt that Camilla got a decent grasp on what she was taught and would be better able to defend herself in the future.

Camilla was trying to remember everything step by step. She knew that she wouldn't be able to remember much without actually doing it, so Camilla was thankful that Aubrey was willing to take her time out of her routine to help.
When Aubrey started to talk about pressure points, Camilla was trying to link those points to either something that she had hurt before or something else she had learned before. Honestly, she would not be able to remember all of this in a day, sadly. "Wow... That's a lot of pressure points. Those are available to find online somewhere, right?"
She laughed and then looked over at the clock. "I think we might have to schedule to meet up another day. I still have a lot of homework to do." Camilla had spent to many nights outside and was a little bit behind, and really needed to catch up. "You're okay with that right? I can come back around this time next Monday?"Skysu ((I know this is old, and my apologies, but I think we can wrap this up? Just to close :3))

Aubrey nodded."You can find out a lot of this stuff by googling it, but practice is what will really make it stick. " She shrugged slightly and ran her fingers through her hair to undo her braid.
"It's about time for me to go home anyway, I'm sure we can figure out a schedule that works for both of us." she responded as she dusted her hands on her pants.
"I'll see you around."
