[ "Aw yiss..." Rasali grinned at the debut of the tape roll. She took it from Atiqua and began swaddling her machine with tape. She was being pretty careful to go around individual pieces and not just cocoon the whole thing... but the tea-maker was definitely going to come out of this more silver than green when all was said and done.
"Ahaha... My idea of organizing is 'I know it's under either a pillow or a teapot' which means it could be pretty much anywhere. Leas' my hive ain't that big, or I'd be in real trouble."
The tea-maker now looked strong enough to withstand a bomb blast. Rasali attempted to tear off the last piece of tape, but fumbled the roll and tangled her hands up in the process.
"We should probably try this out an' make sure it works..." Rasali said, firmly ignoring the way her hands were stuck to the sides of her tea-maker, as well as avoiding eye-contact with Atiqua. ]

“Aw yissss.” Was echoed by Atiqua. Why? Because duct tape. As the machine was being coated with a protective layer of the silvery stuff, the teal troll sniffed at the replacement slime. Yeah, It was still good. Once the tea kettle was supposedly ready she tilted her head and began to circle it. “Pillows and teapots. Not a bad thing to have piles of in your hive.” She didn’t say what kind of piles she had. Mostly as they were her piles and nobody else could mess with them as they were secret, (they were scarf piles). “You did good though, I think we’re ready.” The hands taped to the tea kettle just got a look before Atiqua pulled out a pair of scissors. “………..I can cut you out if you want.” Maybe she wanted tea kettle hands. Atiqua wasn’t going to judge. Much. “And then we can brew something. Like that fancy pants earl grey stuff I always see trolls in top hats drinking.”

[ "That would be nice." Rasali muttered simply. She held her hands + teakettle up towards Atiqua. Her face was a little green, but the blush quickly slid from bashful to excited at the mention of trying out her newly fixed beverage vessel.
"Oh really?! Do you have some?" In case it wasn't clear enough, Rasali was quite fond of tea. "Usually I stick with green teas since they're light and very healthy--not like most teas aren't though, hehe--and are a good anytime beverage, but black teas are wonderful with cream and sugar--so great in the evenings. They're like the comfort food of teas, really, and even straight they're also quite good not even that bitter at all..."
Rasali may not have been one for coffee, but her enthusiasm for tea seemed to energize her all the same.
With how she was attempting to gesticulate her love of beverages, it would probably be best to separate Rasali from her tea-maker before she broke it. Again. ]

A snip snip here and there and Rasali's hands were freed of their silvery bondage. Thankfully, the teakettle wasn't dropped in the operation to save the troll's hands. As the green rattled off about tea, Atiqua popped open part of the back, and began to pour in the new replacement slime. "I have em, no idea about quality though... ahah... quali..tea." She made a pun. Whoops. "If they have a green tea... do you think that there might be other teas like it? Like a teal tea or a blue tea?" Atiqua doubted it, but hey, a teal tea sounded pretty awesome. A final 'shlorp' of the slime going into the tubes, the part was snapped off and entire thing was given another round of duct tape for good measure. Gruinning the teal held it out. "Okay! I think we're ready for out teat test run!"

[ Rasali wiggled her fingers in appreciation.
"Quali..." She mumbled confused for a second.
Then she got it.
"OH! Ahahahahahaa!!" She shrieked. Clearly this was the cleverest play on words ever as far as Rasali was concerned. She bounced in place and clapped her hands excitedly. "Yes! Quali-tea! Quali-tea!"
Rasali grinned broadly and rocked on her heels as Atiqua worked. The greenblood's long teeth made a sharp contrast against her round everything-else.
"Huh!" Once again, Rasali seemed genuinely puzzled by Atiqua's words. "Y'know, I never thought of that! I guess pretty much anything can be any color with enough pigment... but if you consider food dye to be cheating, tea's still made out of leaves! Most plants could probably could be made into tea if you tried hard enough... I don't know any blue plants I'd really wanna eat though!" Rasali finished brightly just in time to take back her tea maker.
"Aw yeah! It's so much shinier now..." Rasali noted the new duct tape exoskeleton.
Whatever Rasali said next was drowned out by a low bellow from the other end of the lawnring. Rasali didn't seem particularly startled by the noise, but did quickly perk up and throw her attention over her shoulder.
At the edge of the property, a large lusus (though not the size of the nearby floating fish, but certainly taller than the average adult troll), leaned heavily on its back legs and wide, flat tail as it regarded Rasali--obviously her custodian.
Rasali winced a little. "Oh yeah. Boy, I really must've left him in the dust if it took him this long to catch up. He seems mad..."
Certainly not mad enough to cross the whole yard and confront Rasali, though. No, Kappadad was content to just sit there on his haunches and stare like the giant shell-beast he was.
Rasali, too, seemed reluctant to leave her place with Atiqua, but was obviously uneasy about blatantly ignoring her lusus. ] iStoleYurVamps I'm still here, I swear! gonk

"PFFFFFFFTTTTT" Was the sound Atiqua made as Rasali began to repeat the pun. Yes, excellent. Puns forever and for everyone. "Yes, we are going to make some quali-tea here, or else we don't in which case oh well back to the drawling board." She held up her hangs in the gesture of 'I might or might now have an idea of what I'm doing'. Looking over to the newly arrived lusus, Atiqua suddenly debated if she shouldn't just scrambled to get inside her hive. "....." Rasali didn't seem that fazed but Her lessons for seadad flared up. Oh that can kill me i should avoid it and not die as dying kinda sucks and is forever."So long as he doesn't come after me I'm okay." More glances. No getting eaten.. if it ate trolls and what not. "Let's test this real fast though.... see if it's holding the water." She would have put in some grass to make grass tea but that sounded kind of nasty. Zipping inside and returning with a small pitcher of water he realize that A) needed to plug in the machine, and B) It might explode. Things did that. "...Do you maybe want to test it back at your place? That might be safer and-" Eyes went back to the waiting Lusus. "Yeah."

[ Rasali gave Atiqua a blank stare. She didn't seem to quite understand her companion's sudden anxious disposition. It wasn't like Kappadad was her lu-- oh.
"OH! Oh. No. No, he's super slow and mellow and an herbivore besides," Rasali explained, saying the "h" in "herbivore."
"I think he's got more of a problem with me for leaving like that... ehehe..."
Before Rasali could finish giggling nervously, Atiqua had already both left and returned. She now was holding a pitcher of water. Rasali waffled excitedly in response. She really wanted to try out her "new" kettle!
Kappadad shifted a little in the background. It was an incredibly innocuous motion, but Rasali knew from experience that her lusus never expended energy on any action without reason.
Rasali locked eyes with Atiqua and thrust out her machine.
"Fill 'er up! I'll run home with it full if I have to! For science!!" ]

"................. oh!" That put her at ease. A bit more but- "Well I hope he doesn't try to crush me or something. I'd rather not be a teal pancake you know." She wouldn't even be a tasty one. Just... teal. Setting the kettle down, grabbing a nearby cord and plugging it in. The troll looked to her companion. "For science." Goggles adjusted, water was poured in. "If it works with just water it'll work with the tea. If it doesn't... Not my fault if it explodes." Turning it on and proceeding to dash behind a nearby table, Atiqua watched the kettle with intensity. "dontblowupdontblowupdontblowupdontblowup...." Was her silent chant. It boiled and then finally- "IT WORKED!" Atiqua jumped up and down in place. They did it! They had made it work! "Yesssss..... It workksssssss."

[ Rasali watched the tea maker with such ferocity, she started when it actually grumbled to life--thinking for a moment that she'd done it herself with the heat of her stare.
"It--It worked! IT WORKED!" Rasali jumped up, scooping the device up in the process and doing a tiny jig.
"You fixed it! That's so cool! So cool!! So--So hot!!"
The tea-maker hadn't been designed to be held as it worked. Rasali hot-potatoe'd it with herself for a second before gently setting the apparatus down on the grass where she unplugged it for transport. Hands free, Rasali pulled off her borrowed pair of goggled and presented them to Atiqua.
"Thank you so much! O-Oh! What do I owe you!?" Rasali continued to hold out the goggles, but flittered her gaze between Atiqua and the tea-maker, as though either of them had forgotten what the subject of their endeavor had been.
Kappadad thumped his tail in the background, but this time Rasali didn't bother to look back at him, instead merely gesturing with a tilt of her head.
"And he'll be super happy that he doesn't have to walk me all the way down to the repair shop in town!" ] iStoleYurVamps SORRY THAT TOOK ONE-MILLION YEARS. The semester finally ended. gonk

Atiqua stayed clear of the hot potato tea maker. It was kind of funny, if anything. "You owe meeee." Rubbing her shin, she debated if she wanted the beetles. Nah, this kid was alright, and better yet, she seemed pretty reliable. If not... well she had other means. "One favor." She held up a finger. "You just owe me a favor, nothing big, but you cant back out." Retreating to her garage, the teal grinned. "And I always collect my dues." Spoiler: not always.

[ Rasali's visible excitement seemed to internalize itself for a moment as she considered Atiqua's price. A sly grin broke out on Rasali's face. The way Atiqua phrased it almost made it seem like a challenge.
"Deal!" Rasali smirked triumphantly. She may not have been much for tea-maker resurrection, but Rasali was a hard worker. She'd pay that debt back so hard, Atiqua would owe HER a favor.
Rasali collected her now cooled machine and nodded to the retreating Atiqua.
"See you!"
And then she scampered off after her lusus. ]
