But Gwen had already started, sketching away like crazy and hardly hearing poor Anming over the sound of graphite rolling across the surface of the yellow-aged paper, sometimes even scratching deep into it thanks to her own heavy hand and just the flimsiness of the paper itself. At one point in time, she had even poked her tongue out and turned the art pad sideways, trying to get at part of her hand at a better angle, not once realizing how stressed out her friend might have been trying to stay still for so long. Finally, after a few minutes of scratching the pencil against paper, Gwen finally had something to show for it, and she carefully tore at the perforated edges to remove the page, though age and just her general rushed manner caused some bits to tear but thankfully none of it damaged the sketch itself. Like a master artist showing off her latest masterpiece, Gwen handed it to Anming with a wide grin on her face, and she asked. "Here you go! Do you like it?" Some of the lines were a little sketchy, but for someone who hadn't had the time to draw on her own, Gwen was rather proud of it, even if it was only a little doodle. She hoped Anming would like it, hesitant lines and all...

It would seem that Anming was resigned to her fate, then, in a sense. Doing her best not to move around too much while Gwen sketched, the smaller girl watched her friend curiously, wondering what the finished sketch would look like... and how much longer it would take. Certainly, she'd never purposely try to ruin her friend's drawing, but sitting still was awfully awkward when she wasn't prepared for it. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity to Anming, Gwen was finished, and Anming relaxed, finding relief in being able to move around; her shoulders had been starting to hurt from being so tense. Gingerly, she took the offered sketch from her friend, not wanting to smudge it or otherwise ruin it, and looked it over. She'd never had anyone attempt to draw her before, and so she regarded it with a bit of awe. "Nobody's ever drawn me before," Anming finally said, after a brief pause, "I really like it; thank you very much, Gwen! I'll have to find someplace safe to put it at home, so it won't get ruined." Gwen beamed, which was just as bright as the sun at times and as energetic as a cat on n**, or at least that's what it felt like to be Gwen while she was beaming. It had been so long since she sketched anything and she was pleased to see that she still had the touch even after so many months of neglect. It made her wonder how many other hobbies she had neglected and how best to go about polishing those skills off, but now was neither the time nor place. "I'm glad you like it, Anming! I can do more for you, maybe as payment for your cookies? If you don't want to take my money, anyway... seems like a good alternative, right?" She was tempted to start sketching something else, but she resisted the urge and put away her pencil and sketchbook for now. After all, as much as she hated school, she had homework to catch up on, and she had to get them done before she started her patrols tonight. "Say, Anming, where you headed after this? Mind if I come with you, you know, for company?" Gwen wanted to make sure her friend would make it to wherever she needed to get to alright, considering their first encounter had seared itself into her memory banks all too well. Perhaps she was being a little paranoid, but she wanted to make sure her friend got home safely... this time, she was more than prepared for any stray youma attacks. Merurulince Sorry this took awhile... working retail during the holidays has a way of draining the life out of you. XD

"If that's alright with you," Anming said, nodding, "You're my friend, so I couldn't possibly take your money- I'd feel bad if I did." And she still technically felt bad for accepting anything in exchange for her cookies, but it was better art than money; if Gwen insisted on paying her back somehow, this was at least something of a compromise. At the question as to her next destination, Anming stopped to think, trying to remember if she had anymore errands to run that day. "I'm going to head home for now after this," she told Gwen, "I'd like to put away your drawing someplace safe before I do anything else. Did you want to come with me? It'd be nice to have someone to talk to, anyway." Anming remembered their first meeting as well, but for her, it was remembered as possibly the craziest thing that had happened after becoming a senshi. Gwen had no objections in walking Anming home. In fact, she was really looking forward to it, and she wasn't afraid to show it as she all but jumped to her feet. She almost looked ready to leave without her, but it was only to gather all of her belongings and throw away the bag, though she was careful to remove the ribbon from it to keep. It didn't feel right to throw it away, considering it came as part of the gift to Gwen- besides, Micah would adore having something to chew on later! Not that she'd let Anming know about that... "Alright then, I'll walk you home! Besides, I got a lot of stuff I want to tell you about, stuff that would probably make some of the hipsters and snooty booties here blush and scoff!" Gwen said, eagerly waiting for Anming to follow her as she all but skipped in place to get moving. She had so much she wanted to tell Anming, even though she knew she couldn't reveal everything to her. Perhaps she could say it was a story she was working on? Yeah... because who'd believe the adventures she had to tell? Poor Anming would think her crazy! Merurulince So, wanna see about wrapping this up and moving on to the next one?

"Snooty... booties...?" Anming repeated, confused. Whoever those were, apparently whatever Gwen had to tell her would make them blush, according to her friend, so Anming simply nodded, gathering up her things as well. "You'll have to tell me all about it," she told her. Vaguely, though, Anming wondered if she should be worried. Pulling on her coat, Anming picked up her purse, before following after Gwen. "Sorry to keep you waiting," she said, "I'm ready now... Let's get going?"
