Yeah, well, life wasn't especially 'kind' to begin with. Of course, the way this mare kept swaying she had to wonder if the other would even be able to make it to the stream on her own. Such a drama queen. Deciding to play 'escort' for the time being, the raven mare started walking toward the stream. She assumed the other would follow. "I take it you haven't been fully grown for very long?" Cause seriously, how many kirin didn't know about predators?

Pelielle indeed attempted to follow the other mare, shaky and wincing as each new step from her back legs sent pain jolting across her back. She hoped the stream wasn't very far... "I don't think so?" she answered, glancing between the dark feathered mare and herself. They were roughly a similar size? "Am I 'full grown'? I haven't really met others to compare..." Well, there had been one or two encounters, but they had been from a distance.

She glanced over the other briefly before answering. "Certainly looks like it to me." She was definitely young though, to be as naive as she was. Of course, it didn't help that the other also seemed to have been alone all her life. Keela would never understand why so many mares laid eggs then left them alone to fend for themselves. It was disgusting, really. If they were going to let the stallions ******** them then they should be ready to bear the consequences.

"Then I guess I am," Pelielle agreed quietly, grateful that they seemed to have reached the stream already. She stepped into the water carefully, wary of her footing on slick rocks in the bed of the stream. From there, she edged further in hesitantly, considering her options. Rolling around didn't sound pleasant at all, so maybe if she went deep enough, she could simply sink to her knees and soak a little...?

While the other mare worried about her footing, Keela took the opportunity to bend down for a quick drink. Unlike her less experienced 'friend', however, she didn't let her guard down while doing so. Her ears swiveled about keeping a very close 'watch' on their surroundings. By the time she had finished the pink-haired mare she was with hadn't made much progress yet. "You might need to go in a bit deeper than that."

"Mm, I was just getting used to the water a little," Pelielle offered, creeping further in. The coolness of the water was already soothing on her skin, but when she finally got deep enough to kneel...ooh, that felt much better. She hadn't realized just how much of the hurt had come from twinging pain she'd been trying to ignore, and the water went a long way towards soothing the aches.

Keela stood back and watched the other for a moment, but beyond kneeling down into the water she wasn't particularly doing much. ... Really? Did she consider that 'cleaning off'? Without a word the raven mare began splashing water atop of the other, trying to clean off the wounds that were'n quite submerged.

She was a little startled to be splashed so suddenly at first, but luckily she could calm herself quickly enough to reassure herself that the other was just trying to help. Even if that horn was a bit scarily close. She would return the favor, but it looked like the splashing was cleaning off the horn too, so instead she just held very still.

She splashed the other some more, trying to aim for all the bite and claw marks she can see. "They'll sting for a good bit," she remarked, "but they'll heal up in time." Keela had long since lost count of how many bite and claw wounds she herself had received while hunting. And then of course there were those battles with that crazed stallion...

Pelielle winced as they did, in fact, sting, but the reassurance was nice. Even if it brought other worries to mind... "Have you been hurt many times?" It sounded like the mare spoke from experience. How awful that would be! No one deserved to be scared or in pain...

Keela snorted at the question. "Rather often, yes. Canines and felines tend to put up a bit of a fight when you try to kill them." She honestly wasn't even sure herself how she'd managed to survive all of these years. By all accounts she really should have died ages ago. But where there was a will there was a way...

"Oh...my..." She wasn't quite sure what else to say to that; she imagined the other was killing them because they had tried to kill her first? She herself can't imagine facing one of those things again, but she supposed with experience, maybe it grew easier... She'd pass on gaining that experience herself though. No, if she never saw another feline again, she would be very happy, thank you... "I'm sorry they give you so much trouble."

"It's a mutual hate-hate relationship, I'm sure," she replied wryly. "But the less of them that are around, the less we have to worry about being eaten ourselves, so." In the end her odd dietary preferences were really doing everyone a favor.

"I see..." All that hatred didn't sound quite healthy to Pelielle, but she did have a point about less of them being around to hurt others. "Um...thank you. For saving me. And helping me clean up." She paused before adding, "My name is Pelielle. What's yours?" It was probably best to have a real name to put to the mare.

Ah yes, introduction time. "Keela. And don't worry about it. You've gotten me some food for later." On that note, she had to wonder if the feline had finished dying yet... If not then she'd probably have to help it along. Wouldn't be too hard to find the thing though.
