He looked at her, not amused. "The light may be low and I might wear prescription goggles, but turning red as a tomato doesn't mean nothing really, Ofelia. Come on. Trust me. I'm not quick to be fazed, and I had a sister." He knew about teenage girls to some degree at least. At least he thought he did.

"....yer gonna laugh." That was what she said at first as her cheeks got redder and redder and a voice in the back of her head may or may not have been laughing at her. None the less he was probably going to pressure it out of her in his usual dickish Melvin way so it would be best if she relented. Sitting down on the now-cleaned pod, she looked away before she mumbled her answer. "Ah want ta be a bride." She may or may not have mumbled the entire last bit and coughed on it too for good measure.
Someone like her would certainly never have a dream like that, right? Or at least it was a dream someone outgrew before they became a monster hunter, right?

"A what?" Melvin said, moving closer to hear her. Despite how empty the room was, you couldn't hear anything if they mumbled.

"Ya heard me the first time." That was a stupid thing to say considering he obviously didn't, and Ofelia just bit the bullet and said it again. "A bride, okay? Ah wanna be a bride, always have wanted ta since Ah was seven. So sue me." Her face probably could have melted an ice cube if someone dared to put it on her cheeks with how red she was blushing.
Telling someone she liked a good deal about her dreams was one thing, telling Melvin who'd just gone off the deep end not a few minutes before was another entirely. Maybe when this was over she'd just kill him and bury him so no one knew her secrets. Or maybe shove him into a pod and lock it.
Both ideas seemed pretty drastic though so she ignored those suggestions.

"You want to get married? That's not something to get worked up about, Ofelia. There are plenty of people who want to get married." It was actually a common thing a woman would want. Be a bride, have the big wedding, and whatever else they had dreamed up. "I think Cass is married, isn't she? Seems something hunters get a little place of their own in town." It wasn't something out of reach.
"What else?"

"That's about it." And that...really was about it. Ofelia didn't have any dreams or goals beyond getting married and settling down with a family. "Ah bet if Rep could hear me now he'd laugh his a** off." True to form she was such a woman. Always cooking, always in the kitchen barefoot. She wasn't too good on cleaning or any other basic womanly task but at least she managed to conquer the main one that was supposed to net her a husband. "Also glad ta know that ya think mah dream's no big deal, thanks fer that. Now ya see why Ah didn' wanna tell ya." Her cheeks were still burning red with embarrassment though this time it was more or less because she was unhappy.
"An' no one can really live in town right now wit' that crazy fog dragon on the loose - or...wait, ya weren't here fer that were ya? One'a the Halloween kids flipped his s**t an' got eaten up by Insanity. Turned inta some kinda massive fog dragon thing." Wow, had it really been that long ago? Melvin had shown up right around the rescue attempt if she recalled correctly.

"Yeah, I met that dragon." He told her, before shaking his head. Okay, so one goal for now. Others could be built upon. "Well towns shouldn't be a concern this early in the game. I guess you are looking to date and find someone to marry. At least that's a goal for you." One she could do considering she was young and guys tended to go for that, not to mention she had time on her side. It wasn't like she was 40 and considering to finally settle down. "And just because I didn't get excited about you mentioning marriage didn't mean I was putting down the fact you wanted to. I'm not Rep. Really, you shouldn't even be thinking of what Rep thinks. He's not someone anyone should really be bending backwards to please. He isn't around to be pleased." Rep fully admitted he liked to start fights. Why try and please a guy like that? Well, for reasons that Ofelia didn't need to worry her head about. It was out of her scope.
"What about your career as a hunter? There are different branches in divisions. Anything you like doing as a Sun?" It was time to focus on job goals while the personal one was being sorted out.

"Ah like ta destroy things an' go new places? Jus' a little bit ago Ah stole a golem an' went ta that Halloween place. It was ...interestin', ta say the least." She'd managed to see people she hadn't in a while and get information she thought might be useful to someone. While it wasn't exactly a Sun-level type of job it had been interesting though it could have been made better with a fight. "Ah'm not much fer readin' or writin', not ta mention Ah've little taste or patience for researchin' stuff. Ah' best out on the field doin' sommin', anythin'." Plus there was the whole not being scared of dying thing, that helped too.
"Ah mean, Ah'm not afraid'a gettin' hurt but Ah'm not really strong either. Ah jus' can't stand by an' do nothin', yanno?" There were probably very few job options open for someone like her unless they needed a traveling chef who went around kicking asses as she took orders.
That actually sounded amazing.

Melvin waved some concerns of hers off. "The research is for Life and Death divisions, but I'm sure that fighting, being as it is what Suns do, has different areas of fighting. You should talk to your lead or even speak with a few other Suns to find out what they are up to. Ask them what they are going into and if that might be something you're interested in. You have hunters who have been here longer or might even just know more about where they are going. Doesn't hurt to hunt them down and just ask what they might be working towards. Just because one person is doing it, doesn't mean that area might need a lot more people. I'd really check that out. It's how I'm figuring out what I want to do." He wondered if she needed it illustrated. "For example, Life does research. However, in life, we have the runic tech, portals, fear research, golems, weaponization, healing, along with a lot of other departments. So Sun have fighting, but they probably have many branches under that. See."
He wondered if Ofelia's shy nature and her tendency to think that people were thinking the worst of her was holding her back. "Have you talked to many Suns who you feel comfortable talking about this with?"

"Nope, 'cause all the Suns Ah know are batshit crazy like me. 'Cept...well maybe Bix an' Jordan but Ah really don't like what Jordan's become since he started datin' Rep." Blunt Ofelia was blunt and she showed no signs of feeling bad for saying it. She added herself into the list because it was well known that something had to be wrong with you in order for you to be a Sun - how else was someone supposed to really enjoy the slaughter and bloodshed that came with it? Smart people were the ones who hid and stayed back when the time for fighting came. Suns were the ones who were out front egging the enemy on.
Of course Melvin went on explaining in detail what could happen, what choices there were, and she shrugged her shoulders again. "Talkin' ta Allan is like talkin' ta a television screen that is constantly flippin' channels and Simon jus' doesn' seem the talkative type." There was little wonder why she had no goals or ideas, it seemed that Ofelia was the type to not really believe in anyone else or trust them to help her; either it came from the years of raising herself alone or the recent turn of events involving people betraying her trust.

"Then this Bix guy. Are you okay with him? You don't really have to care about their personality too much or who they date. As long as you feel they would give you some good guidance and be informed." They were going to run out of options if this kept up, but Ofelia had to rely on one person in her own division. Melvin wasn't a Sun and therefor could not help her in regards to her career in the Sun division. She needed someone in that area to give her some guidance when she needed it. Melvin wasn't about to exhaust himself too much helping Ofelia, but he didn't want her to just go about waiting to throw herself on the first mine either.
"How about we contact them. We can then go over and talk about a few things if you're feeling shy." It was like taking someone to a job fair or talking to a counselor for a college. If she was too shy, which he attributed to her being young, then he could ask the questions she probably needed to know.

"Bix an' Ah are pretty close, sure? He's like a big brother ta me an' was one'a the first people Ah met on the Island outside'a the people who woke me from the pods." Not so much woke her up as 'happened to be there' but that was another story and the details were unimportant. "He's kinda got stuff'a his own ta work out right now, mostly his promotion an' bein' wit' Ceres so Ah dunno if Ah wanna bother him? Ah mean Ah know he'd help if asked but maybe it'd be best ta let him get what he needs done first. S'not like Ah'm goin' anywhere any time soon by the way yer tellin' me." That was meant to be a positive but Ofelia sucked at that too.
"Also Ah jus' noticed sommin' - this is the most we've talked since Thanksgiving." It wasn't like Ofelia to be observant about something or even really speak on a bad incident but here she was stating a bit of the obvious. "Ah assumed ya'd always hate me fer walkin' out like Ah did since ya seemed really, really upset."
