Without thinking, Lex stepped back, getting into proper pistol stance. Body turned sideways, dominant arm over his chest. Roland's weapon could sing, but could she belt? Clenching his jaw, Lex was about to find out.
A sweet, rich and deep baritone note rang out from the pistol, a bullet of compressed air and soundwaves crashing into the other Hunter's chest as the note ended.
Lex stood there, cocking the hammer for another shot as he continued to back away, attempting to gain some distance.
"So, seems like both of our weapons sing." A slight smirk. Regal had won the sing off that round.

Roland frowned slightly as Lex took the stance of a proper shooter. Firing wildly from one hand was one thing, but the way he held himself now indicated there was some sense of skill and pride behind this next shot, hand hand tightened around Sylvia as the shot rang out.
When it reached halfway it seemed to hang in the air for a moment pressing against Sylvia's invisible barrier before the world errupted in a baritone note, and a shrill cry of the Banshee's own as the barrier ripped apart, the shot flew true and Roland barely had time to raise an arm and Sylvia against it to stop him from being completely destroyed.
"Seems like it..." He moved forward again bringing Sylvia around in a quick slash, not as hard as the last ones as the hunter was clearly slowing down after that blast.

Wincing as he was caught by the scythe, Lex brought up the pistol to try and shoot, but the trigger jammed.
Well, that was a first.

Growling a bit at the weapon, Lex cocked the hammer back further, ready to take another shot.

Roland paused mid twist of Sylvia raising an eyebrow as the gun clicked and jammed. It was like a 'please come hit me in the face now Roland' sign written all over Lex.
Shifting his grip he slammed the butt of Sylvia against Lex stumbling the other hunter before bringing Sylvia back around from the other end slashing across him.

Griting his teeth as he fell back, Lex didn't even attempt a shot. Close range wasn't good - he needed to move. Somersaulting backwards, he got to his feet and started backpedaling, keeping the gun trained on the other man.

The tumbling was annoying, it put Lex well out of reach for a solid hit, he still didn't stop chasing moving in again to brush the tip of the scythes blade across the hunter again.

Lex fired off a round at Roland's foot, hoping to slow him down at least a little, so he could get some more room for firing. Maybe he should just go for an all out sprint in the opposite direction and fire over his shoulder?
No, that never worked. Life wasn't an action movie.

The shot bounced in the dirt grazing his shield but Roland pushed on, words had lost meaning at some point in the fight and now it was just a blind rush to the finish as he stepped forward to lash out again. Still, Lex was doing good to keep distance between them, but he'd slip up sooner or later.
That or just shoot him.

He fired off a multitude of shots in quick succession, all aimed at the Mist's feet. Trip him up, maybe. Something to give him some breathing room, at least.

For once Lex's plan to trip him up paid off. Roland went to step, took a shot to the knee and stumbled ever so slightly, bringing his next swing up short. He didn't stop though, just as soon as he stumbled he started after Lex with wide swings to push the life hunter back even more.

Practically jumping back as Rolan continued to swing at him, Lex fired a shot at his shins, still trying to pepper his legs to immobilize him for at least a few seconds. That was all he needed.

Shots peppered him here and there, nothing too painful or dangerous but he could feel the shield becoming weaker and weaker with each passing shot. It made swinging Sylvia a harder process as she suddenly actually seemed to weigh something in his hands.

Not taking the gryphon's advice, Le continued to just backpedal and shoot, jaw clenched. Obviously he wasn't going to make it out of this by talking - that was already made clear when he loosed his charge.
He'd just need to break Roland's shield, and maybe the man would calm down a bit. Hopefully, anyway.

The swing missed, slanted to cleave shoulder to hip, the blade landing in the dirt and digging deep as he stumbled forward dropping to his knee while trying to tug the blade free from the dirt.

Roland only hissed in frustration as he tugged at Sylvia trying to rip her free before Lex took another shot.
He always got so close, but he could never win. Maybe he was a terrible at this after all?

Taking his opportunity, Lex aimed a clear shot at the man's shoulder and fired, satisfied with the result. It hit, and that had to put some kind of dent in his shield.
"You done yet? Head cleared up a little?" He called, calm and level voice laced with mild concern. He really didn't want to take another shot at the poor guy.
