Troy wasn't so sure about any of that. Sure it would be good for kids that were forced to spend every minute of their day with other people to have a good "alone" place. But he wasn't so sure the wisdom of leaving a giant pool unattended and open. Most kids were stupid, man.
Oh well. Wasn't his problem. He could swim if he wanted and anyone dumb enough to fall into a giant pool and drown themselves probably shouldn't be in the gene pool anyway.
"Man that sucks about your brother." He said, and he meant it. "I'm lucky I just have dad. We get along really well."

Hinote turned to the left at the top of the stairs. "I just hope he gets transferred to some other football team so his record's ruined but he's still out of the house or something. I don't know why mom puts up with his stuff. You're lucky you got adopted by someone that you clicked with so well. When you get adopted young, it's kind of just a crapshoot. I know my mom and I have very different ideas about who I should grow up to be. Here's the locker room door - the pool is just through here."
Hinote opened the door to the girl's locker room and started walking in.

Oh heck no. There was no way he was going through the girl's locker room. He looked wildly around the hallway. Nope, no boy's entrance. Dang it. Of course there would be a nonsensical lay out for the locker rooms. It was only a universal rule.
He stopped stock still staring at the entrance of the girl's locker room like it was a portal to hell. You'd think he'd be more comfortable with that idea being a demon, but nope.
"Yo, Hinote. Kinda a boy here. There's no way I'm going in there. What if there are naked chicks?" He asked with his arms crossed stubbornly.

"What? Oh. Yeah, I guess not everyone will just go through here. Um, I can check for girls, but I'm pretty sure no one is around. I use it the most, and people normally aren't here. But it's pretty much the same; I've been through the boys' locker room. It's just red tiles and lockers instead of blue."
Hinote looked into the room. No one would be in there and it was kind of a long way back around, but she didn't really mind taking him.
"If it's really going to weird you out, we can go around. Or take the outdoor route. This is just easiest. And I'll make sure it's clear so no one thinks your a perv or whatever. Or do you really not want to see naked chicks?"

"You want to see naked dudes?" Troy countered. "Besides, I'm only a kid. But I guess if you check and make sure I'm not gonna get smacked in the face with boobs or anything then I can go through there. Just call me when you're sure the coast is clear." Yeah girls were mostly silly and he didn't understand them. He didn't really know why his Dad needed one, but he wished that they would see the value in him. Oh well. Whatever will happen will happen.

"I guess that's true; you are a bit young for that than. Look, I will double check no one is in here, and I won't let you get labeled the academy perv or anything."
Hinote disappeared for a few minutes; she checked all around the locker room, and double checked the pool really quickly, just to make sure no one was in there; the coast was clear. She returned to Troy and beckoned him in.
"Only sign of life is a moth in the pool room. Let's go?"

This was dangerous. He was taking his life into his own hands. But he was a brave little eggnog, he could do it.
Taking a deep breath, Troy rushed into the girl's locker room knowing that if he slowed down at all he wouldn't be able to face the sheer amount of cooties there were sure to be lurking around. He made for the door to the pool area without looking around. Much.
Once in the pool area he leaned against the wall. "Can we go back a different way? I don't trust my luck to hold out twice."

"We can either go through the outer door or the boys locker room, either one. But yeah, this is the pool - it's really cool to be in here in the summer when it's storming outside. There's a diving board, over there, and blocks for races, not that anyone really uses them. The cupboard in the corner has toys for pool parties and whatever else."
Hinote rarely used the pool toys, except occasionally a float if she wasn't in the mood to be active. And there had never really been a pool party, at least as long as she had been here, but that's what she assumed the large stock of inflatables and everything else was for.

Troy nodded. "Let's go outside. I'm kinda curious about where we are in relation to the main building's entrance." He said as he explored the pool building, picking up various pool toys. Aww yeah pool noodles. "Though really we should probably head back soon. My dad's probably worn out his welcome by now."

"Ok. It's about two thirds around the building from here to get to the main entrance, It's uphill, but the walk isn't bad." Hinote held the door open so Troy could continue out.
"Really, we just keep the building on our left and keep walking until we get to the main entrance. It won't take long to get there, and if your dad's looking for you we can have him paged over the speakers."
Hinote started up the slope toward the front of the building. "Sorry that I couldn't show you more of the building. And sorry about the locker room thing, again."

Troy went ahead and exited through the door. "Hey, it's ok. I still got to see more of the campus then if I'd stayed around to watch Dad and the receptionist flirt horribly with each other. That and I doubt he wandered off. Pretty sure he saw us leave. He's really good at knowing about what kids are up to even if it looks[/] like he's not paying any attention." Troy said as he walked up the hill.
He opened the front door for her when they got there. "After you. And thanks again for showing me the pool. It was nice not to sit around being bored."

"I guess that's good, if you ever get into trouble, right?" Hinote kept up with him and went through the front door.
"Such a gentleman. Well, it was nothing. Keep an eye out for me when you're around, we can hang out some more. And I'll try not to lead you through any more girls' locker rooms. See you around, Troy!"
Hinote waited until she saw Troy's dad rounding the corner, than headed off back to her dorms. She was going to do some research for things that needed to be figured out.

Andrew waved at Troy with a smile and watched the blue haired chick scamper off. "Hey dude, starting early?"
"No. I just met her in the hallway when she tripped and dropped all this stuff she was carrying." He wasn't about to tell his dad he'd helped carry a ton of girl's clothes anywhere. "So I offered to help and she offered to show me some of the campus while you were flirting."
Andrew grinned again. "Good for you man, where'd you see? I thought I heard her say something about a girl's locker room." At the sudden effusion of color on Troy's pale face he couldn't help but grin even wider. "That's my boy." He said slapping his back proudly.
"Uuuugh, she showed me the pool. Which was cool. We had to go through the locker room, and it wasn't a big deal, there wasn't anyone using it." Troy passed it off.
"Uh huh. Well you keep thinking like that I guess, we gotta get going though. Come on man." Andrew rested his hand on Troy's shoulder for the walk to the car. Man, getting into the girl's locker room already. Troy was going to be a charmer.
