"No, you're not," Rio was quick to say, "You could never waste my time, and you have nothing to apologize for. You do have my apologies, though, that I'm probably not going to have any concrete answers for you. I'm glad to talk about it with you, and that might help, but love is different for everyone. And first love is..."
Confusing, wonderful, and occasionally a complete trainwreck. "Much of it defies explanation, even by me. No one can know your own heart better than you do."

Well, that was not exactly the kind of answer Akakios had hoped for. But perhaps it was the one he should have expected, given that is was very much along the lines of what he would say to someone who was hurting. Different emotions, but similar concepts.
But how would he knew how he truly felt when the emotion itself was so foreign ? "How do you know, though ? I mean, there has to be a way to tell, right ?"
Poor little confused Lament, trying to apply logic where there really could not be much of it.

"It's not that easy, I'm afraid," Rio answered, looking truly sorry that it wasn't, at least for Kios' sake. "And it's...early, yet, from the sound of it. The best thing you can do right now is to do what feels right. Think less about what it might or might not be, and just go with it."
"I know it can be intimidating, frightening even, but it can be exciting, too. It's all a part of being young." Love was often that way, but it was doubly so when every aspect of it was new.

Asking Akakios not to think might be like asking mortals to stop breathing. It did not usually end well. Perhaps - hopefully - that would change in time. For all that he knew a lot of things, Lament had not experienced most of them.
"I will keep that in mind." Rio knew what he was talking about, that much he was certain, even if he had... Issues grasping it.

"You know, you might consider speaking to Adi, if you can get her to stop moving long enough. She has more...recent experience, and probably a better perspective for you to relate to than mine," Rio admitted with no small amount of self-consciousness. Anytime someone came to him for advice about love, he tended to say more or less the same thing: but, unfortunately, it was true. There wasn't any kind of test for this sort of thing, no black-and-white answer, short of 'stop thinking and get on with it already.'
Some people had a harder time with that than others.

Adi ? This was not something he had thought about, not really. "Maybe I should." He had not seen her in quite a long time, at any rate. "Thank you."
Not exactly less confused than he had come in as, but well. It could not exactly be helped at this point.

"I'd tell you where to find her, but you know how she is. She's always off somewhere doing something. You could try her clearing, though, I suppose." If Kios could find her, it would be good for him - having a friend to talk to instead of an 'adult.'

Always off somewhere doing something, uh ? The same could be said for himself lately, which amused Lament - if Rio could see the tiny smile hiding behind the veil, really.
Though, with that done... He was silent for a moment, pondering something. This could make things better or it could make it worse. The last thing his mother wanted was attention, probably, and that was exactly why she needed it. Even with his limited knowledge of the matter, Akakios was very, very keenly aware that his mother was more or less destroying herself from the inside out. A little too keenly aware for his own tastes, but Music simply was not letting him go though.
Perhaps it was time to try to enlist others in such a task...
"...Can I ask you a favor ?" Unrelated to what they had just been talking about, from the sound of it.

A moment of silence followed by asking for a favor...now, what could this be? Love tilted his head slightly, curious, but as always, was quick to accept. "Of course. What can I do for you?"

"Not for me, actually. It is about my mother." Lament pondered how to word this, knowing that Love would not be happy to hear it. Rio liked Music a lot, and who liked to hear that their friends were hurting ?
That Rio liked Echo on another level also was not completely out of the realm of possibilities, either.
In the end, though, there was little he could tell but the truth. "Nergal left." That Akakios did not say that his father had left would likely tell more about his own feelings than he probably would prefer it to show. "After the sky was remade. No one has seen him since then. Ankou's tried to find him..." But even the Spirit Guide had been unable to do such a thing.
"....Heartbreak is not exactly something I know how to deal with." He was trying, of course, but he was getting little done of that aspect. Perhaps it was a mix of not being a lost he knew, and the fact that it was, well. His mother. "If you could at least... Watch for her, when you could ? Try to cheer her up ?"

Aah. Nergal. Rio did, as it happened, notice that Kios referred to his father by name, and wasn't entirely surprised. If Underworld ever did come back...he almost felt sorry for him. Almost. He had his limits when it came to people, gods included, abandoning their wives and children, and that was even without factoring in that Nergal was supposed to be on the Council.
Distaste did not begin to describe his expression, but he was quick to school it. "Of course. Whatever I can do, I will. You have my word."

Likewise, Rio's expression was noticed, but Akakios did not comment on it. He felt much the same - worse, even - so he could not truly blame Love. There was more anger and resentment hiding behind those patina eyes that even his own mother knew about.
"Thank you." He was sick of watching his mother suffer, and if he had to get everyone he knew to meddle in, well, so be it.
