Melvin wanted to groan. "You sound like every tourist I've known." Melvin admitted to Rep, used to the people who would go to the marina, get a boat, and play pretend captain for the duration of their vacations. They often wore nautical outfits and flashed their limited knowledge of ships as often as they could. It always made Melvin role his eyes that hearing it from Rep made him want to gag.

When he got to the portal, he waited for Rin, hearing what she had to say about lighthouses. "Well, I tend to like the tal-" He then stopped and just glared at her.

He stepped through the portal and was then placed in the middle of a rather overgrown amusement park. The place was just as foggy as the island if not more, and it was strangely more unsettling because he knew it probably shouldn't be since this was the human world. He could make out the distant shapes of Ferris wheels, rides, and rollercoasters around them.

"Certainly not like any amusement park I've ever been to." He said, looking a bit disappointed.

1- 20: You have a hard time getting past the fog, everything thick and desolate. Finally you see something, a flash of something, colour in the fog. You run over to it to discover that it is a mutilated corpse. Its face has been torn clean off its head, maggots crawling out of the skull.
21 - 40: You notice that some of the rides are moving on their own, from the roller coaster - still taped off with DANGER DO NOT ENTER - to the excuse of a ferris wheel. A body slumps to one side of the ticket booth, dried out. You turn around as you hear a strange hissing noise. As you turn back, the body standing, still, in front of the ticket booth.
41 - 60: You stumble for a second, as if someone, one of your teammates have shoved you, but when you look around, you notice that there is noone else in sight.
61 - 80: You see a mirror maze, and walk into it, your reflection eerie in each broken mirror fragment. Everything suddenly turns an oblique white and as you regain your vision seconds later, all your reflections have been replaced with your body melting, face and skin melting right off your face's reflection. Your reflection continues to copy everything you do.
81- 100: BOSS ENCOUNTER:
- As you continue walking down the sidewalk you hear a large crack, followed by another. A strange gas explodes from underneath, making you extremely dizzy, as you cough to figure out what is going on, fighting for air now. You have exposed your entire team to a hallucinogen, making everything more terrifying than ever as your vision swims and hops uncontrollably and your hearing becomes muted. Something creaks, groans, lurches underneath you, but is that your imagination?

Rep was still grinning on the other side of the portal at Rin's lighthouse innuendo, fighting back laughter at Melvin's cut-off retort. The smile faded quickly though as he took in their surroundings and his expression froze into a far more serious one. He wasn't sure what he'd expected from the mission, the trips to Disney and Universal had been to thriving theme parks simply winding down for the night. This place looked like it had been wound down forever, the rusted hulks of machinery jutting out of the fog around them like the bones of some long dead creature.

The active theme parks had been dangerous to the point of nearly getting him killed, he could only imagine what that meant for a place that had slipped so far into decline, there had been far more chance here for the monsters to creep in, more time for them to settle in. He didn't like the feel of it one bit.

He summoned Tracey with a flourish, his runes dim in the hazy fog. "Nothing like the ones I went to either." he said. "Even Tracey's pretty on ******** edge."

Rep was leery these days to pull any kind of lead, well aware Rin matched him in rank, possibly even outranked him due to her earlier promotion, but it was easier for him to feign confidence and reassure himself with a small degree of bossiness. "Right. While we are here, we stick together. No matter what. Do not get ******** split up or we probably get to find out what it's like to be one of the expendable bastards in a cheesy horror movie. We need backup? We text for it right away. Even I'm not going to be a ******** hero here, last time I tried that I nearly lost my..." he trailed off with a quick glance to Rin, before finishing lamely. "My shoulder."

"But aye. Be vigilant as ******** because this place feels like we are on their turf, not the other way around."

He set off at a much steadier pace in the direction of the rusted wreckage of the roller coaster, turning his back to them fleetingly. As he walked away, he outright stumbled to one side as if shoved, turning on his heel wide eyed and furious. He looked first to Rin then to Melvin, noting as he did so both were too far away to have shoved him.

Terror made his gut twist. He remembered this shoving and teasing, slow and persistant torment from the times he'd run into the horsemen in the theme parks before. He thought he was over it, that he would be just ******** fine running into these things a second time, but he hadn't counted on the raw and primal fear that had somehow gotten tangled up with it all. He was vulnerable and he didn't even have his moon.

"There is definitely something here." he said anxiously.

Rin grinned toothily at Melvin. You like um tall eh? She followed him through the portal and the grin melted off her face in a single effortless sweep. This place certainly didn't look amusing in any description of the word. It looked like where scrap yards came to die.

She distantly listened to Rep's words as she followed from behind their little group and quietly agreed with his plan. Her gaze wandered however, scanning all over her surroundings. It was when his voice suddenly sounded distant - and then silent. That she realized she was alone and the fog thick enough she could no longer see her way. Terror immediately gripped at her. Before she knew it, she was running and Byr was already summoned to her hand, weighing it down.

She ran for what felt like miles before she finally saw a flash of red in the distance and ran to it with renewed vitality. "Oh thank god, I thought you guys got lost for a min-," it wasn't Rep.

Her horrified cries carried long and far across the park. If whatever was here didn't know it had visitors before - it sure as hell did now.

Melvin slowly summoned his gun, the faint green of the runes and egg chamber faint as he stuck close. He knew long ago that his best bet of survival was near those with power, especially Suns. They had the raw power he greatly lacked. With Rep into command mode, Melvin listened to all his instructions, moving slowly but staying close to both as he looked around, watching the fog swirl and the rides around them tower over them, watching, groaning in the wind. Little bits of litter rolled about the empty walkways, made wide and open to accommodate a rush of happy families and visiting groups of friends. He could almost imagine the laughter, the mingling of music from booths and rides, and the cheering at booth victories. The silence left him feeling cold.

"Makes you want cotton candy, huh?" He said, nervously talking to hear anything other than silence.

Looking over, he noticed that the Ferris wheel further off was slowly rotating, and he glanced back to the pair before moving closer to inspect. You couldn't help the curiosity of a Lifer, and he moved to the entrance of a roller coaster who's carts were slowly rising up a peek in the distance. "They're still moving..."

Eyes traveling to the booth to see if the operating board was still on, he jumped back and covered his mouth at the husk of what could have been a person. It looked dried, reminding him of a field trip to a museum to see mummies.

That was when he heard Rin scream. Jumping in his skin, he headed back to where he heard her.

Hhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisssssss The noise was a chorus of many cockroaches.

Turning back, his heart jumped into his throat when he saw the mummy standing there, perfectly still and erect, in front of the booth.

Oh ******** this!

He returned, moving to where he saw Rin and was glad to see that she was not a shriveled shell. "Rin?!"

The entire thing had gone from a mildly amusing mission to a world of nope as things all too rapidly got out of hand. Mere moments after saying they should stick together, it seemed like the fog itself had other ideas as Rin vanished. It reminded him of the ******** haunted house and only escalated the worry and fear he'd been carrying around since whoever or whatever it was had shoved him.

"Rin!" he snapped angrily, anger the only alternative to worry. But she was nowhere to be found.

Next thing he knew Melvin was walking on in the direction they'd been going in the direction of the roller coaster and he had to jog after him too lest he end up alone. He wasn't sure he could handle being on his own right now, weapon or no weapon. But thankfully both him and the blonde man spotted Rin at the same moment on their way back, he flat out jogged to her side, pausing and almost idly looking down at the object she was stood beside.

"What did you fi- oh <******** was nasty.

Rin essentially climbed all over poor Melvin to get away from the grotesque visage that seemed to have been plaguing her so. "Don't like amusement parks! Nope, nope, not one bit." Her words frantic and lacking any break for breath. Maggots in that dudes face Melvin, MAGGOTS.

At least they both seemed to find her... and seemed real too. That much was a relief for now and she gave Rep an apologetic look. She meant to not wander away from them. But this park seemed to have other things on its mind.

Melvin didn't even have time to see what was going on before Rin Scooby Doo dumped him and started to climb all over him. Admitadly, it was the most action he saw since coming here aside from the Life Techs smacking his a** to fetch them coffee, but neither were invited. Trying to pry Rin off, his skin crawling at having her paw all over him, he was stuck in the momentary dilemma of realizing that corsets really were...lifting for women. This was quickly smashed down when he managed to see exactly what Rin was crawling away from, and he jumped back, trying to shove Rin away.

Bugs. Bugs. Bugs. He hated bugs. Gross. Ew. No. Nope.

"Amusement parks aren't like this, Rin." He told her, a hand on either side of his head as if he was ready to just crotch down low and start rocking. "I just saw a dead guy over there.." He gestured vaguely to the roller coaster with his gun. "...all dried out and operating one of the rides." He wasn't about to glance back to see if he was still standing there, hissing.

This is because of that bug lady, isn't it? He hated how Salvia could poke around his mind.

I don't like bugs, Saliva. We went over this.

You are the weirdest person ever.

Rep curled his lip in disgust at the rotting corpse, but at the same time was somewhat relieved. It wasn't fresh, that meant whatever killed it could be very far away by now - this was a small consolation - but in this ******** spooky dead park he would take what he could get.

Melvin and Rin though got an irritable, deadpan look as Rin tried to hide from the corpse by promptly crawling all over the blonde man. "Man the ******** up." he snapped angrily, tempted to just leave them both to it.

He gave the corpse an almost pitying look and decided that was exactly what he was going to do.

Turning without a word he headed off along the path. Bloody idiots both of them, yeah, Melvin was a good guy to hide behind sure, not the guy with the massive axe. Hide behind the pretty boy. Unappreciated.

Crack

He froze.

Crack

The ground was cracking underfoot and he tried to back up, panic seizing him as a strange acrid taste rent his throat as he inhaled, like hundreds of tiny needles hooking into his throat all at once. He coughed and gasped in panic, hands flying to his throat as if it would somehow help, but it didn't. He could hardly breathe and couldn't even speak to warn Rin and Melvin to get the ******** out of there, just gestured as best he could at the cracks in the ground as he staggered, the world flickering and world slowly spinning around him.

He was ******** sure he could hear something nearby.

Lot of help Melvin was. Rin was left to fend for herself as Rep left in a huff and Melvin treated her like she was more diseased then the dead guy without a face was. Fantastic. She turned to look where Rep was going. They weren't supposed to split up by his own words. It was then she saw him suffocating as something seemed to be coiling about him.

She stared in horror as it came for her too. A tendril wrapping around her throat and squeezing, choking the life from her painfully. She nearly dropped Byr to instinctively grab for the tendril and pull it off. Thankfully, he corrected her.

She swung feverishly at what she believed to be the tendril and buried Byr's blade in it. Causing it to release with a furious hiss. She was free but still couldn't breathe.

This boss is a mob that has collective 100 HP. Every time you attack it (following the general battle rules), you TAKE 8 damage. AS you can't really see the boss, most of it will have to be dependent on what you can see, if anything at all, from strange faceless figures lurching, half-hopping towards you to the smiling dead coming back and swiping at you. Make sure to tally the boss's total HP (the damage you did to it) at the bottom of your post as well as your total HP and the damage you did that round. Melvin all but glared at Rep, trying to collect himself. The guy's face was torn off and had MAGGOTS in it, not to mention Rin had been smothering him and - He shivered. Too touchy. Too close. If she just held to his arm, he could tolerate it, but that was too much lost space.

Adjusting himself, flustered by the moment, he headed after Rep, more than willing to hide behind him in order to use him as a shield. The guy had a massive Axe after all and, sorry Rin, two arms.

It was then that he saw the towering mass of ginger fall to the ground and the ground crack underneath them. Gas pipe leak? It was a old amusement park. This place probably could have plenty of problems like pipes bursting, but the smell was strong and unlike the smog he swore it felt green.

It curled around his throat, thick in his throat like gasoline and something rotting, and he held to it.

Hisssssss It was a mix of the sound of gas escaping a pipe and the choir of roaches from before.

Eyes watering, he looked up to see a husk of a hand shoot out and grip his throat. Panicking, he shoot out into it, watching the hand dissolve into ash.

Hacking, he tried to call out, but he couldn't hear himself speak. Instead, he tried crouching as best he could and looking for the others.

Rep felt sick, heavy thick nausea and laboured raspy breathing. The world swam around him like he was on the worst acid trip he'd had in his life and the only reality he had to cling to was the familiar untainted stability of Tracey in his thoughts. The fallen angel was his only clarity as he watched Melvin and Rin fight back as best they could against an assailant that to him seemed to twirl and shift like insubstantial mist, a claw here, a tendril there, as if it couldn't decide on a tangible shape to its fear.

As it rounded on him however, it took on a shape all right. A bizzare parody of humanoid shape, contorted and flayed, deep eyeless sockets and a grin from ear to ear. It juddered towards him, moving all wrong, limbs at strange angles, a parody of humanity - and lashed out, digging deep to his shield.

Even tripping, heart racing, he managed to give it an axe to the head for it's troubles, connecting with something solid before with a hiss it recoiled from him.

That tendril looked as though it was still strangling Rep as he struggled and Rin refused to allow this to continue... Rep was starting to look almost green as she stumbled forth and dropped Byr on the tendril causing another shrill hiss of pain as it seemed to release the man from its clutches to lash the woman across the face. But why was it still so hard to breathe? It must have injured her throat.

Melvin had made it to the others, wiping his eyes of the stinging tears as the gas stung and suffocated him. His breath raspy as he moved close, back to the others as he looked around the fog.

Melvin! Keep calm! You have to get out of here or else they will take us.

Back up? Should they call for backup?

Melvin gasped, trying to speak but knew that even if he could dial, it was hard to speak. Would they even hear him?

Gun at the ready, he looked about before he heard it again.

Hhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiissssssssssssss

The fog swirled, before it darted about low to the ground. Small, tiny legs moved before a large roach rose up from the fog, rising up and showing it's underbelly, it's mandibles dripping green.

He fired shot at it, screaming despite himself, before it burst into fog. It was playing games on them. It was like the fog from before, even as he fired, he felt it swipe at him before he dissolved.

It's real enough! Saliva confirmed, telling him his shield was indeed taking damage.

He moved closer, back bumping against Rep, his hands shaking as he held out his gun, eyes wide as he tried to spot what else might come from the fog.

Rep was struggling. He didn't cope enormously well with not being able to rely on his senses, anxious in his current state he might end up harming Rin or Melvin thinking either one of them were the creature, whatever it was. He couldn't afford to stand idly by either though, the thing already turning its attentions back to him, movements stuttering as it went, face still contorted with that immovable smile, unhurried as it approached him, but inhumanly fast as it struck. He snarled in defiance as it raked across his shield, swinging Tracey out but hitting nothing but air.

As Melvin backed up into him, at first he almost lashed out in panic, before registering who it was and relaxing, he needed someone to cover his back, and even if Harrison wasn't here, he trusted Rin and Melvin to do the same job when push came to shove.

he growled, voice shaky and still ragged with the sickly sweet hallucinogen on the air. "Can't focus."

Rep was freed. Not only was he freed but Rin could swear she heard him. She saw Melvin at Rep's side and quickly wedged to the other, completely covering Rep's back with Byr held aloft as high as she could hold him.

God you've gained weight.

Rin wishes she could. The tendrils seemed to be creeping forth again in a hazy mess, ready to strike at any moment.
