Xeizii coughed into the crook of his arm, then glanced at the Elder sitting behind the desk. Tendren hadn't really paid him much mind, he seemed focused on the cotton candy colored girl in the wheelchair. At least he had gone behind the desk again... Xeizii was not sure how he felt about the strange amount of doting the Elder showed towards the girl. She seemed out of it, as if she'd pass out at any moment. Then again he wasn't feeling particularly good either.
I'm sorry.
He blinked a few times and looked around. Who was that? No one seemed to have spoken... His thoughts were interrupted as the door opened, revealing two adult humans. They looked very nice.
"Oh! Is this the right room? The lady at the front desk said to come up here..." The woman looked around, a little surprised it seemed by the lack of color in the room. Tendren grinned, perhaps a little too much, and skirted around the desk. "Oh yes, you're in the right room. This is Xeizii, the boy you wanted to adopt!" Tendren motioned at the boy in the chair, Xeizii did his best to wave. He was just so exhausted, though...
"And I'm so sorry to bother you but... Do you think you could perhaps take this girl with you as well? Her parents backed out at the last second, she's no where to go." He motioned to the girl, expression instantly turning to one of regret.
"Oh..." The couple looked at each other, and then nodded in unison. "I think we can manage that." The man finally responded.
"Perfect! She's gotten a little under the weather, but she should be fine in a few days. Warm meals, hot drinks." Tendren nodded and motioned for the two to come to the desk to sign the last of the paperwork.
Once that was done, the man took control of the wheelchair and wheeled it out of the room. Xeizii watched, but was distracted when the woman offered him her hand. He stared at it for a moment before taking it with his own gloved hand. "Come on then, lets go home. I'm sure you'll love it." She smiled brightly and led him out of the room.
Don't trust the girl, she's weak but she's not what she seems.

❦❦Child: Diary
I get to go to school today. I have to do something that requires being on campus... which is good that it's today, I feel okay today. I've been very sick since coming home. Mom and Dad are worried about me. They called the school to talk to Tendren, but he didn't seem to know what was wrong.
I hope I get better like Whisper.
Except I don't want to be like Whisper. She scares me. This voice in my head keeps telling me to get away from her... and it wants me to protect the "life givers," I don't know what it means.
I haven't told Mom and Dad about the voice... I'm worried they'll send me back and keep Whisper. She can do all of the things that I can't. I wish I could garden with them, or go on hikes with Dad... Whisper doesn't seem to like doing any of those things, but she does them anyway...

I keep getting worse and worse. I made a friend though, his name is Tori. I haven't gotten to play with him yet because my breathing keeps getting worse. Sometimes I'm too tired to chew my food so I have to drink smoothies. Mom and Dad are really worried.
Whisper pretends. I can tell its not genuine. The voice says so, too. But he's getting quieter, its hard to hear him talk to me these days... He said his name is Wither, and I shouldn't tell anyone about him.
I'm worried though. Mom and Dad had to buy me an electric wheelchair so I can get around. I wish I could walk again. I wish I could run.
