Yeah that idea is way better. Out of my 4 years at an art school only one teacher ever had us turn in copies of our finished work. He would look over the originals in class really well during critique then have us turn in printed out copies. He always said he didn't want to chance losing them.
Haha good for you. Could be keeping them or they could be losing them. In my experience a lot of art people are not the most organized all the time ha. Plus a lot of professors are doing their own art thing as well as teach. I know my one professor would just through our work in a box in the back of his car and we only got it back if we bugged him about it ha. xD
