Qiu Shui hid his smile behind his sleeve now, finding himself feeling a little embarrassed for the boy before him. All of their teasing must have made the younger one upset. Yet there was nothing he could do, not when the older man had his arms about him. He was not quite ready to give up such warmth.
"I'm not sure.. Even everyday life is interesting from beyond these walls. My freedom is so limited, just a simple day that you spent in the sunlight would be wonderful enough to warm me up.."

"Well, those like me, we tend to spend more of our time walking in the shadows, it where we belong, but there are times when something is important enough that we will come out in the light of day." He murmured, feeling a little bad for the one he was sitting with, he probably lived the same sort of life, far from the sun, trapped in the darkness. It was a shame, knowing that this house would likely be where he lived, worked, and eventually died, likely at the hands of a client or a client's spouse. He shook the thought off and said, "There are interesting things to be found during the day, things that aren't seen at night, the more... ahhh, how to put it, mundane crowd. People going about their everyday lives."
He seemed to think on it for a moment then said, "I think the one I visit the most often during the day would be a rather talented sword smith that lived at the edge of this city. He is a crude man with language like you couldn't fathom even working in a place like this, but he makes the best swords and can help to renew the life of mine, keeping it whole and ready for when I need to call upon it." He said, glancing in the direction that he'd left said weapon. It was a big, broad sword but one that he was able to wield as though it were an extension of himself. For the moment the weapon was like its master, at rest. They had the night off and Dao Ye Shou would enjoy it.
"Most other times that I get dragged out during the day is because my little dragon here wants something. He can be a touch spoiled but I can't say that I mind too much." Save for those times he was dragged out of a warm bed after along night on a hunt he thought to himself, deciding not to add that bit of info out loud.

Qiu Shui merely nodded as the man continued to speak to him, picking up his tea cup every couple of moments to take a sip, before he went on to listen once again.
"I've always wondered what life would be like outside of these walls.. I have a dear friend who's life is to simply take care of his father and enjoy each and every day.. At first, I didn't think much about it, but recently, I find myself aching for such simplicity. To wake up, make breakfast, and then see my loved one off to work, then spend my days taking care of a household.. Maybe having a few children with them, if that were even possible.. To have my own ones to spoiler and care for.. But life is never that simple for those who dwell in darkness, is it?"

Dao Ye Shou gave a shake of his head, "No, it is never so simple as that. To gain what we want those like us, we have to fight tooth and nail for it, be willing to do anything, say anything, to even have a chance at what it is that we want to get our hands on... and even then we can see it torn from our grasp." He said, his hand twitching for a moment, as though recalling going through just that. He could see it even now, his first love, being torn from his grasp before he was banished by his b*****d of a brother. He shook his head before he looked down at the one he was sitting with, studying him for a moment, then said, "I would aid you where I could but I somehow doubt the one in charge would be so willing to allow me to become your own patron."
No, things were never so simple. Besides, he could tell just looking at him that this boy would grow up to be something special. He would be worth a mountain of gold when he was older and the old hag that ran this place wouldn't sacrifice such a profit. Dao Ye Shou knew this because he himself found it hard to resist when he was offered a large sum of money even if the job that went along with said money was a difficult or dangerous one. Money made the world go round and it tended to cause people to do all manner of stupid things.
"I must admit though, I am impressed that you are able to retain your desire for such simple things in life." The boy would one day have the ability to become a partner for all the highest ranking men in the world and all he wanted was a family. So naive but given the world he lived in it wouldn't last, he'd learn one day what was within his grasp and he would mostly likely be tempted.
Turning slightly Dao Ye Shou spotted the young dragon who was looking halfway between bored and asleep before he gave a soft laugh, "I think, since I have you for the night, that we should all just enjoy the rest of the night by resting up. Tomorrow is a new day and we are all going to be dragged forth into it willing or not." He said after a moment of thought. Best to give the little flower a peaceful night, it would be the best way to get himself on Qiu Shui's good side after all. The more time that passed, the more of that time he spent with the boy, the more ideas he came up with for getting back at his brother. So many fun ideas... though they would have to wait. Today was not the right time to strike after all.

"It's the simple things that keep me going.. Just because I'm in a bad situation doesn't mean I can't be optimistic. I have hopes and dreams that I know someday will come true, because I'm not alone in my pursuits. My dragon is fighting just as hard as I am." Spoke of such things, but just how long did he have to wait before he was free? Honestly, he didn't even wish to think about it..
"Resting..? You are more than welcome to rest in my bed with me. The only person who has ever slept in it is myself, I assure you, so if you and your son would like to remain by my side, you can rest comfortably." He waved a hand towards the large nest of cushions and blankets off towards the back of the room. Plenty of room for each of them to lie comfortably, but he wasn't sure if the boy with Dao Ye Shou would be that interested in sleeping with him in a place like this.. The amethyst eyed boy stood, moving over to the dozing dragon, gently touching his shoulder and smiling.
"Would you like to rest with me and your master?"

There was a split second that Dao Ye Shou felt a touch guilty over his desire to kill off his brother's dragon, knowing that it was something that would wound the little flower so much. Perhaps he would need to change his plans, perhaps he would just see to it that like his rivalry with his brother that Fu Ts'ang was made the rival of the blue dragon. If he won again that one then that was that, he had the better dragon and he was the better man, better then Qiang Di. There was also the possibility that he could just cut the blue dragon's heart out in another manner, maybe by taking the flower from him. Just the thought was one that he loved had been stolen away by the same man that stole his eye... it would be a wonderful victory against his brother and his thrice damned group.
Giving a smile the man said, "So long as you are alright with it and won't get in trouble over us doing such a thing. Though I suppose if a nap in your room costs more I will pay for it later." He said, giving him a smile, then pushed to his feet, stretching out all over. He watched as Qiu Shui walked over to get Fu Ts'ang to stir, asking him if he wanted to rest with them two of them.
The pink haired dragon starred up at him for a long moment before he smiled, nodded sleepily, then pushed himself up to his feet. He rubbed the back of his hand against his eyes for a moment, gave a yawn, then said, "Sure, rest would be nice." He said, kind of liking the idea of getting to curl up with the two of them, to sleep, and if he was lucky get some time off from thinking so hard about that golden haired pain. The young dragon pushed to his feet, gave another yawn, then motioned to the other two to lead the way.
