Sherry saw runes light up. She knew what that meant. The life trainee braced herself as best she could, but it helped little. She felt pain as the attack ripped through her fear shield. She had expected blood, she would get it.

Armagnac raged in her head.

Sherry probably should have bowed out after that. Or at least moved to to defend herself. Sherry wasn't the type to quit, however, and Armagnac didn't like the idea of defending. Not one bit.

So instead, Sherry put all she had left into a counter attack.

The redhead hadn't expected her opponent to still be standing, still be able to attack, so the counterattack that came hit her harder than it should have and Ofelia hissed as her shield sizzled. The end result was her striking back, uncaring.

The object needed to be brought down, needed to be destroyed. She would not allow surrender.

Her fear shield was all but gone, she was in pain, and the noise in her head was so loud she couldn't hear much of anything. But she could still stand. As long as she could do that, she would.

She didn't have much left. She'd have to apologize to Armagnac later, but she knew the wyrm wouldn't want to hear it.

How dare the object still attack, still stay standing? Ofelia's blood was boiling as Rue started her ever growing louder choir of screams, and the teen paused in her steps and covered her ears with her hands.

It was loud, so loud. Maybe if she hit her again, once more, the screams would calm down.

Armagnac's yelling was loud and almost incoherent. Sherry knew what she was saying, though. The emotions the weapon were tossing at her made it all very clear. She could not give up, she could not stop.

So she didn't. She would simply attack until she could attack no longer.

It didn't matter that her opponent was a fellow hunter, or that the fellow hunter was barely standing. It hardly mattered at all that any further attack could result in someone being injured and unable to move, and Ofelia just shook off the screams inside her skull.

The attack that hit her own shield was shrugged off as nothing more than a glance, and she charged forward to strike. It came as a one-two punch, followed by a kick that leveled the ground, and the teen moved to finish her opposing object.

It would not get up any more.

No, no she would not be getting back up. She wouldn't remember exactly when her shield broke, and she had blacked out before she even hit the ground.

She would remember the pain, and she would wonder why she hadn't given up earlier. She'd ask Armagnac why not giving up was such a good idea-- Later. After she woke up.

For now, she simply lay on the floor of the indoor training ground, bleeding all over.

Rue was cheering, cackling with delight and practically screaming with it too, and the weapon was sent away as Ofelia felt blood from the blades drip down onto her face. A shield was supposed to protect against blood, wounds wouldn't show, but now that she'd struck her down . . . .it was more than obvious that this object was a girl named Sherry and Ofelia had just nearly killed her.

As the blood ran down her cheeks Rue was dismissed and the teen started over, her steps weak and wobbly as she drew closer. Her whole body seemed to be shaking as she grew more in control of herself, less allowance for Rue to seep in like a plague, and she dropped down to Sherry's side and lifted her into her arms. It didn't matter that she was getting blood everywhere, or that the injured shouldn't be moved.

"Cherry! Cherry, open yer eyes! Say sommin'!"

Sherry was vaguely aware of someone picking her up. She was mostly aware of the pain. Why did she hurt so bad? Oh, right. She'd been in a fight.

Someone was talking, but it wasn't Armagnac. Sherry tried to respond, and a less than half-formed mumble came out.

Then she blacked out again.

The lack of sounds that she could hear only set Ofelia more into a panic and she hugged the body closer to her own, practically squeezing all life out of Sherry (if any remained). Inside her head there was nothing, Rue having retreated back into her silence, and the teen was forced to deal with her own thoughts as to what to do next. She needed help, she couldn't move Sherry on her own like this without injuring her further (as the deal with Rep had shown her) and so she looked around at the empty hall.

"Help....help." Her words cracked in her throat as she panicked, doing her best not to wheeze and scream or cry, and she kept repeating it like she expected someone to appear. It was pointless though since not many people used the indoor grounds and she simply rocked the body back and forth before the motion caused her phone to fall from her pocket.

That...she could ask for help that way. Her fingers fumbled against the keys as she rested Sherry's still faintly warm body against her shoulders, and she pounded out a message to someone, anyone.

Text to Harrison help indoors help

She was vague, she knew it but she couldn't get pass that without trailing off in a random line of keys.

It wasn't the first vague and panicked message he'd gotten from Ofie. But there were two sets of training fields, and while he'd spent most of his time watching the outside one, deciphering the message wasn't too much of a leap.

If he was wrong, he could try Ofie's room and the other main areas.

"We just got a text," he told Melvin, typing out a short reply as he stood. "Come on, we gotta hurry."

on our way

Melvin had wanted to tag along for paramedic duties, and Sunny had said it was alright, so they had waited in an open, grassy area of the training fields, Harrison using his binoculars to scan the duels.

He put the binoculars back in his pocket as he hurried to the interior fields.

Ofie was sitting on the ground, with Sherry propped up, and both of them covered in blood. Ofie looked spooked.

"s**t. Okay. It's okay," Harrison said, kneeling beside her. "Okay," He talked as he checked over her, "see the blood, so her shield's down. We're going to use a runic to boost her shield back up, so her weapon can help her out." He took a bandaid out of his tin, clearing a spot on her neck and making sure it was free of blood, so it wouldn't mess with the adhesive.

"We're gonna need to stop the bleeding," He looked briefly at Ofie, "What happened, do you know where she got hit?"

Ofelia was holding Sherry so close, rocking back and forth, when the sound of rushing footsteps caught her attention. She kept the teen in her arms, unwilling to let go, and she turned to look at whomever was coming. Her text had been vague but she was never gladder in her heart to see Harrison. She could even forgive that fact that Melvin was behind, seeing as she was still overly sour at him because of Thanksgiving, because everything only mattered if they could keep Sherry from dying.

When Harrison approached she held the girl closer, unwilling to let go, and she almost hissed at him and pushed him away until she noticed he wasn't going to take her. There was blood on her face, her arms and hands, and her fingers kept twitching as she just held onto her companion. "Rue. . . . jus' kept goin' Ah dunno where she's hit Harrison help help help help help help"

The teen sounded like a broken record, feral and wild with a crazed and terrified look in her eye. With Jason she had acted quickly, with Sherry there was nothing. Of course the major wound, the one with all the bleeding, was being hidden as it was pressed between the two girl's bodies.

Melvin had been working in the Infirmary a lot and had wondered about more training. Harrison had been stopping into the Infirmary from time to time and, knowing he wasn't in Life, the Lifer decided to ask what he was bleeding well up to to be bringing in all these injured hunters. Seemed he was up to some training of his own and Melvin asked to tag along to learn a thing or two.

It had been relatively quiet between the both of them while they waited outside, Melvin watching and Harrison scanning the place with a pair of binoculars. It felt more like lifeguard duty without the sun or pool. It was then he got a text and said they were up.

Turning, he followed as best as he could after Harrison and soon saw Ofelia holding a hunter he barely recognized. There was blood everywhere, and she looked as good as gone. Harrison did not feel the same way, dropping down and wiping blood away before pulling out a bandage. They weren't that different from the runic bandages he trained for, and he took his own out. Following the Moon's example, he looked down and tried to get closer, but Ofelia was holding her tight.

"Ofelia, you have to let go." He told her, but decided to find another place to slap a bandage and not waste time. There wasn't much to go, what with all the blood. All the blood just everywhere....drying...a complete mess.

Reaching out, he lifted up her sleeve and decided to place one there. It wasn't that effective though.
