For a weird a fellow as Bazzite seemed to be, Aventine had to agree that he had a good point. If all of this was visible to the public eye, she could only imagine the chaos that would brew. People feared what they didn't understand, and if she didn't understand, she could only imagine what normal civilians would think about this whole war.
"Mega weird," Aventine huffed, rolling her eyes. "I can think of weirder things than talking cats. Have you ever met one of the talking cats? I heard that the Negaverse could steal them, so…theoretically, you have talking cats, too. Just saying. If you don't want them, you can definitely give them back, though." She offered shrug of feigned indifference and pursed her lips. A year and a half—that seemed so long.
A year and a half to go without being caught, to stay alive despite a war going on. "So…I had a question," she said, only slightly out of the blue. She would have loved to keep talking about the cats and all, but she severely doubted that if the Negaverse had gotten some of their cats, they weren't going to give them back. "Who started this fight? And how long has it been going on?

Bazzite blinked at her. "We got talking cats too? Dude." Her turned away for a moment. "I'm going to have to see one of our talking cats because... can you imagine what you could ask a talking cat? I mean, I'd ask what they'd dream about or what cat food tastes like or why they go all bonkers for cat n**... important stuff!" He scratched his head and pondered Aventine's next question. Out of all the knights he'd ever met, she was certainly the nicest. She was asking all kinds of important stuff! But now she was getting into things that were either over Bazzite's head or things he simply didn't know. One wondered whether he'd have the mental fortitude to even comprehend such things. Who started the war and when? "Uhh..." he started, staring rather blankly at Aventine. "Well uhh... well what I heard was that the space pirates were out in space but then they got too much power and destroyed their planets so they came to Earth and decided to take Earth instead." Was there anything else? Bazzite wracked his brain. "I dunno when. I don't think anybody told me when." The captain chuckled merrily. "See, I figure the higher ups have this stuff all figured out an' I'm no good with my brain but I'm real good at following directions!" Bazzite smiled brightly. "Yep!"

While Aventine could see why giving out all your information probably wasn't the best idea when you had lieutenants with very big mouths, but she couldn’t imagine Bazzite wanting to risk his life and not even have a good grasp of what was going on other than space pirates. Her mind immediately shot to B movies that played in the wee hours of the morning—movies so bad that they were ridiculous even when they came out decades ago. Though, if there was any indication of Bazzite's thinking process, his whole idea for what to talk to guardian cats about basically settled her opinion of him.
She hadn't thought to ask any of the cats she'd met questions like that, though…actually, now she was find herself kind of curious about them.
"Mmkay," she said slowly, shaking her head to dispel the thoughts. "Well. I'm sure you can't be that bad with your brain. And, anyway, if they're like, your superiors or something, shouldn’t they trust you enough to give you, I dunno, some information about the stuff they'd figured out? Because I would get pissed if I was doing all the hard work, and they just got to sit up there on their high horses and, I dunno, look pretty."

The frowned for a moment, deep in thought. The silence seemed to stretch for miles until suddenly, he looked up, matching Aventine's stern gaze. "I... don't remember seein' any horses." he said finally with a tap of his chin. "Anyway, I'm sure they'd tell us if it was real important. I guess it doesn't really matter how long ago the war happened - just that it happened, you know?" Bazzite shrugged with a smile. He obviously didn't concern him in the slightest to not know certain things. How the war started, why and when weren't things that bothered him not to know. Maybe one day, if he was curious enough, he'd ask Benitoite about it. Beni was sure to know. But until then, it was on a need-to-know basis and Bazzi didn't need to know.

Aventine was met with two realizations; the first, being that Bazzite was probably not the sort to attack anyone, and therefore was probably not the biggest of her concerns. The second thing she realized was that even if Bazzite was a concern, she doubted he had any information that would be of use to her. She flashed a somewhat awkward smile. "Oh, yes," she said in response to him, "Of course. I suppose you're right. Well, ah. In any case, I couldn’t do that if I were you. I'm definitely liking this whole knightly freedom, let me tell you that. And, speaking of knightly freedom, I'm thinking I should go act on that. You know, people to save, things like that. I hope you don't mind…?" she prompted, flashing what she hoped to be another flattering smile. "It was lovely talking with you and all. I'd love to do it again some time. We can chit-chat some more about—" well, s**t, what was there to talk about? If Bazzite didn't know anything and couldn't answer her questions, she wasn't sure what she could do with him—other than pinch those adorable cheeks. It was hard resisting even now, so she just closed with a quick, "You know, whatever it is we're supposed to talk about. Knights and Negaversers and all that jazz."
