"Oh...Is there a reason you only know the one?" To Needle, who had grown up with a clan of 'Sisters' and 'Leaders', not knowing your FEAR-related family was still a little strange. Though she was aware of his Father's perchance for children and status, she just didn't quite understand it... "Ah...but is it worth it to own a picture of someone you have never known, or will never meet?" Her questions pressed further, always out of innocent curiousity and nothing more.
His affectionate gesture had her smiling, and she leaned up to nuzzle into his growing beard, managingto only press her temple against it when he spoke. The scenery was acknowledged and, to her absolute delight, he was right; the ink masterpieces were starting to become the focal point. The misbehaved children meant nothing to her and were barely even acknowledged as she drifted as patiently and gracefully as her excitement would allow. She wanted to take it all in, every tiny little detail that she could manage.
"Oh Muka, these are gorgeous! Do you see this? This one tiny line, it brings it all together~" The Engraver gushed, pointing to a small, almost unnoticable line in a small village scene. She glanced to the side and ghosted to stand in front of it, one of the smallest pieces in the room hidden behind a protective glass. "And this one! The way the cross hatching creates the shadows! In such a tiny piece, too!" It didn't take a genius to realize she was having the time of her life; if she wasn't pointing out tiny obscure details she was quiet, staring and studying on her own.

"I'm not sure.." Muka said thoughtfully and gazed off, "I've always just assumed it was because they were all older. Gone out into the world and hrmm.." He waved his hand as if to mean 'etcetera'. When questioning the art though, his head bobbled excitedly. "OH YES! Many works of art can be worth quite a bit of ah.. money and prestige to own. Especially if it is painted by a famous artist!" Finally they came upon the exhibit and he grinned wider to see Needle get so excited. He followed her where she directed him, peering closely at the lines and things she pointed out. He'd never looked at any paintings in the way that she was now dissecting them for him. Her knowledge was impressive and he found himself actually *gasp* learning things! He found himself drawn to a few of the pieces of animals and then finally stopped to stare at a very simple and pretty ink painting. Muka cooed and beckoned Needle. "This reminds me of you.. hrmm. If that makes sense.." With his shoddy art knowledge, if that was some sort of ugly painting, he'd hate to insult her.

"Oh. I can see the merit in owning art if it is well done...it just, ah, boggles-" Needle paused just long enough to giggle at the phrase, using a word she never had but always wanted to. "-me that people would get it done often." It still confused her but she was sure she could still see some merit in it. It was always hard to understand something that your culture didn't do; if they wanted to remember the past all they had to do was look at old tattoos, not photos on a wall.
Needle almost - almost - missed his beckoning gesture, but she caught it just in time, lured by the soft coo that she had come to adore. She looked up at him as he told her it reminded him of her, and then she took a gander at the painting, her head tilting as she examined it. A...painting of long grass and flowers? It reminded him...of her? A little smile played on her lips as she mulled it over, trying to see the meaning behind it but failing. When she thought of long grass and blooming flowers she thought of freedom, which was not something she felt she possessed, not really. It was a pretty painting though, and she could at least agree on that.
The fact he thought of her when he saw it though, now that was something sweet.
"Oh? How so?" She seemed pleased, but she couldn't resist asking as she looked over her shoulder at his form.

Muka shrugged but giggled to hear the odd phrasing come from the ghoul's mouth. She seemed equally amused but he found it cute. Momentarily the strix pondered how such a random occurence could even be cute and simply came to the conclusion that feelings were more complex than he initially had understood. Muka almost didn't know what to say when Needle asked what he meant. His quiet wasn't silent as he thrummed with sounds of avian thought. He never considered himself to be eloquent and most things he said as compliments to strangers or friends, he did so because he knew they were flattery and everyone liked being flattered. With Needle it wasn't like that but he never put much thought into why he was saying things. "Well.."His head turned to her, while his body remained static. "It's delicate and.. simple." Another thoughtful throaty noise accented at the end with a giggle. "Very pretty and not needing to be ah.. flashy for others to know it."

His answer made her smile, and even more than that it was enough to make her turn her back on the beautiful art to face him properly. She wasn't too sure why his answer resonated with her the way that it did, because she had never once cared about her appearance as a whole, but it was nice to know that she was appreciated in some way, and even moreso to hear it from someone she found she cared a great deal about.
"Thank you, Ulmuka." Needle hummed softly, her fingers curling delicately into the fabric of his jacket in lieu of a hug, leaning in close to nuzzle her head against the gentlemonster's soft and fluffy beard. She loved to nuzzle him like this, and she lamented not having done it more often lately! Screw the fellow guests with the suspicious Engraver-esque tattoos! She was going to show affection to her charming, amazing boilfriend while she still could. "Thank you for bringing me here, I can not properly express how greatful I am..." Her voice rang wtih sincerity even as she stepped back, breaking their contact and turning back towards the paintings she had yet to see.
"One day, do you think we could bring my sister here, too? I am sure she would love this place as much as I have!"

Muka closed his large eyes momentarily and nuzzled Needle back, his hands resting lightly on her waist for the brief embrace. As she broke away and mentioned her sister he felt a tiny twinge of something, guilt possibly, for not having thought to invite Lattice along for the trip. "Oooh!" He hooted with the barest hint of distress. "I should have thought to invite her! Yes yes.." His head bobbled. "We will come again. It is a big museum. I doubt we would get through it all in a day anyway. I believe on the second floor there are woodcut prints.. which I am to be told are also pressed with ink." It was a testament to the strix's viewing of the girls as seperate women. As time went on the ghouls made different choices and became independent women, despite their closeness. Muka did know there were still those who viewed them only as a pair. Perhaps he needed to think on that more often.. and include Lattice in some of their plans. "I'm sorry that it slipped my mind to ask her." He rested his hand on her back gently.

"Woodcut prints pressed in ink? I have never heard of such a thing!" Needle pondered over the concept while staring at an ink rendition of a dragon in the clouds. Her attention shifted equally between the exhibit and Muka, listening to him hoot and hum in what she thought was some sort of distress.
"No...It is all right." Needle said softly, hoping to reassure her companion. "I am...actually glad you didn't ask her~ I am happy it is just the two of us." She admitted, awkwardly linking her fingers in front of her. As much as she loved her Sister and as much as she adored being around her, it was nice to do something on her own...it was good to be thought of first, and not have 'Oh, Lattice's Twin' attached to it.
"I have the rest of my unlife to spend with my Sister. I want to spend this time with you, while I still can." Behind her mask her eyes closed, truely thankful though sad that her days were numbered. There was no guarantee she'd be able to break free of the Engravers, after all. She thought it would be good to prepare herself for the worst.
"Shall we move on?"

"And hopefully there is more time," he giggled, leaned and kissed her on top of the head, and then leaned back, "rather than less." He seemed to have a naturally positive attitude about most things. Even situations which were dire and serious, Muka handled in a manner of pure confidence that it would all work out in the end. This was probably some level of naivete but so far had always worked out for him. It also helped spur him on while others may lose heart. "How is she doing?" They did move on to the next room. It was also part of the exhibit but the pieces were now EXTRA large. Huge pieces covered entire walls and the ceiling even hung with antique paper lanterns, all ornately painted, and just out of reach for any grasping hands. "She and I had tea.." he giggled. "And she tried to teach me a game but.. hee.. I don't think I quite grasped it."

Muka's confidence was something she needed to work on, but this was one thing she just couldn't be positive about. The Engravers may have let her and her sister out, but they were keeping them both on an iron chain.
"She is doing very well...much better than before." For a while her sister wouldn't come out of her room, but now she was getting a little more adventurous. "KoiKoi! I am not as good as she is, but I adore it!" Her head tilted back to observe the pieces of art that hung from the ceiling, spotting the glowing bits easily with the dark backdrop.
"She has been hanging out with Petro a lot, which I think is a good thing for them both." Her head tilted down to rest against his shoulder, her gaze moving behind her mark to look at the silhouettes of the other pieces, though her attention did keep shifting to the lanterns. "I have always loved these lanterns, we had something similar for a couple of days when I was a child...it was very exciting."

"Yes that's it!" he giggled. "Koi koi! Lots of symbols and pictures of birds and flowers.." he snickered again. "It was nice to sit with her, regardless. I'm glad Petro is good company to her are they ahhh.." He grinned more. "An.. err.. item?" He did like juicy ghouly gossip, even if it was a side of him that Needle didn't see very often. The strix twisted his head around again to peer up at the lanterns. There were cobwebs woven between them and the strix wasn't sure if that was deliberate or natural, but found the silken strands glistened and glowed softly in the pale lights in romantic manner. He once again slid his arm around Needle's waist and gave her a squeeze. "Was it a holiday .. or festival?" he didn't know about a lot of the festivals until he'd come to Amity and looked forward to more before all of their time in school ended. The strix's voice chirped up suddenly, in a rare moment of an attempted whisper, "If there's ever anything you'd like to do or ahh.. hrm.. see." In case she couldn't again, or wouldn't again, "Please tell me and I will make it happen!"

"An item, as in together?" Needle inquired thoughtfully, making sure she had the terminology correct. "I...do not think so, but they are spending a lot of time together. Lattice was emotionally torn up when he went to visit his homeland..." She was more than happy to share her gossip with him, but for the sake of her sister and protector, she kept her voice low enough to keep it private. "They could be together and just have not told me...but if they are not, I think it is only a matter of time!" She tried not to sound too excited, in case she was wrong. "How exciting would it be if they got together! We could go on a...oh, what is that phrase...double date?" So exciting!
"It was...something of a holiday. Our previous Elder's FEAR faded, and our current Elder stepped in. It is a very rare occasion. We honor the last while briefly celebrating the current. I was a very small child, it was a magical day for me." The ghoul enjoyed the contact and stayed close to him, resting against his much larger form without thinking of who could see her do so. "You are sweet, Muka...but I am not sure what is out there!" She did seem to give it some thought though, for a short time after she was speaking softly once more.
"I would like to see your home, more than just the lobby...mmm...I would like to see a bustling city, or even just...oh, that term again...sight-seeing? Yes, that. I would love to visit many different places in our world!" Part of her still felt bad that he doted on her so, but she was coming to accept that he would, no matter what...and that he was offering her a chance to do or see what she could, just in case. How could she possibly pass that up?

Muka was also thrilled to the news about Petro and Lattice. He was definitely rooting for them, though he didn't consciously think on it much. Of course while Needle thought of double dates, the strix imagined he was gaining two more people he could attempt to dress. Would Petro wear anything but loincloths? Could he get him some couture loincloths? There was a designer who specialized in more tribal- And then Needle snapped him back to reality with her story of home. He was getting better at that! "I've never met anyone who's FEAR.. eheh.. faded. My grandfather is still alive and my father is always complaining.." He giggled. He imagined that ghosts could be even more long lived. They had finally moved into the final room of the exhibit and even the strix, who was not prone to emoting much of anything, had to pause and absorb the scene. The lights were slightly dimmed and every single piece was lit golden. They were sculptures all made of paper, all the accents and details done in simple black ink. Muka noted that it had been called an 'installation' and was more one large work, than many small ones. The figures were carved into whirling shapes of spirits and monsters and drifting skulls in smoke, all intricately cut. They encircled the room, hanging like spectres from invisble strings that the dim lights aided in remaining unseen. They all spun towards an elaborately large vortex that hung over their heads in the center of the room. Muka and Needle stood with a small group of people in the center of the room, almost everyone silent except for murmurs of how nice something looked or how 'cool' some school kids thought it was. Muka grinned away from the work to look at Needle though. He let her take it in but stared at her face and continued to smile. "Wherever you... hrm.. want to go. Perhaps maybe we could see the old Town Hall. You know.. from Jack's time! I've never gone..." Usually young kids went there but Muka had been homeschooled up until Amity. "And definitely my house.. my room.." He giggled a little too much but did soften a bit. "Anywhere you want to go."

"It happens rarely. I suppose they just decide it is time to let the next generation take the reins." Needle smiled at his description of his Patron's relationships, and then shook her head. "Perhaps they are too alike?" Which was something of a frightening thought, especially having met Senior briefly.
The new room was stunning. She could see it all, and her gaze was immediately drawn upwards and to the ceiling, taking in as much of the breathtaking sight as she could. Muka's stare went unnoticed until he spoke to her, when she turned her attention towards him, a smile lighting up her lips. "That sounds amazing...! We should take in the local 'sights' before travelling further from home?" The idea made her understandably excited. Learning about the basic Halloween History before seeing the various lands? She couldn't put into words how excited she was to start travelling someplace that wasn't the Manor or school! The ghoul shifted, leaning a little closer to Muka, if only to keep the quiet conversation between the two of them. "Perhaps we could start with your room...and then decide where to start?" She suggested, mocking innocence.

Muka grinned at his ghoulfriend and squeezed her waist as she suggested his room. They'd reached the end of the special show now and after they'd taken their visual fill of the display they ended up back in the main hall of the museum. "My home isn't exactly local. But you know next month will be the valentine party." He leaned in to kiss her cheek and whisper, "I will show you my room then." The owl promised with a teasing hiss. Muka had a gift for her burning a hole in his pocket but their day was still young. "We can visit the sights.. and if you are interested..." She got another squeeze. "One of my father's hotels is nearby and we can enjoy a room for the day?" Enoh Love oh god so long. im sorry ;;
