"It's not your fault," Eva told him firmly, though she was still smiling, "It's not like your purposely tried to make us upset, yeah? And Gale..."
She trailed off at the question, cupping her cheek in her hand. How had Gale been doing? Well..."He took it...pretty rough after the mission," She admitted quietly, remembering the look on his face, his tears, and his screaming when the pale man would not wake up, "But...um...he does seem a little better now! I went to visit him in the infirmary, and he seems to have recovered some!"
In fact, he had even been having a bit of a snarky conversation with Jinhai. Seeing that had raised Eva's spirits significantly.
She reached down to take one of the candycanes to hang up, her expression softening. "He's definitely a good person--one of the best I know--but...he really doesn't do much for himself, does he?" Gale was a hard worker--no one could deny that--but from what she had gathered from her conversation with him before, he rarely thought to take care of himself. Bix was right about that.
"Mmm, well! Any ideas, maybe? We can't just let Gale get down, especially when it's getting closer to Christmas."

"He's too concerned about one thing or other to ever let himself do anything fun. Somehow he never, lets go." He wasn't sure what Gale's mind was always on, but it was clear that it held him back. Bix sighed as a wave of joy washed back over him. Warm. and. Tingly. "Let's make cookies." Bix smirked at Eva. "Christmas cookies." Was that what he intended to do for Gale? Was that the JOY talking? "I have my own oven now!" Though.. making cookies for Gale could have been a plan.

Eva took in Bix's words silently, and then chuckled, "I think it's up to us to help him have a little more fun then!" When it came to doing ridiculous things, Eva was totally there and at the ready. She definitely wasn't opposed to finding some way to cheer Gale up some more either.
At the mention of cookies, the young woman's eyes instantly lit up. Oooh, who didn't like cookies?! Christmas cookies to boot!
"I'm definitely in! Let's make a whole batch! Can we make some special ones to give you Gale?" She wasn't sure what "special" meant--specially decorated?--but it seemed like a good idea.

"I'm not good with planning though." Bix admitted. "For fun things. I'm sort of boring." His admission was sheepish until his expression shifted as he was distracted by another sound of jingling bells. With the wall decor hung up, Bix stood a moment to look around. What else would they do in here? "Well obviously a whole batch but.." His mouth quirked oddly. "We still can't use the portals. For supplies."

Eva blinked, and then chuckled. "Are you? You never seemed boring to me! But hey, we have two brains here instead of just one, right?" Eva couldn't claim that she had creative ideas--they were more like crazy ideas--but surely it would be possible to come up with something between the two of them? ...Maybe? Whether or not any such ideas would be practical remained to be seen.
Eva frowned at the reminder that the portals were broken. Right. Man, that made things a lot more inconvenient.
"Right. Hopefully those are...fixed before Christmas." How else was she supposed to buy presents? Tapping her chin, the eyed the door hopefully. "Think that the cafeteria's kitchen has anything that we can use?"

Bix nodded. The cafeteria had to have things to use. But how to get it? It would definitely require thievery. If it didn't, well, Bix still thought it would. "We should... volunteer for dish washing duty. And then.." He tapped his chin. "STEAL ALL THE THINGS." Bix threw his arms up in the air and snowflake glitter came raining down on both of them. How long had he kept that in there?

............Bix, she was never going to get this snowflake glitter out of her hair now. Or her clothes, off her skin!
To her credit though, Eva didn't look particularly perturbed despite the fact she was now generously covered in sparkles. Chuckling, she sly glanced side to side, as if checking to make sure that there were no spies listening in on their conversation. When she deemed it safe, she shot the man a thumbs up.
"Ahaha, sounds like a plan! Let's do this!"

Thankfully Eva didn't complain about the glitter because Bix had no apologies. Both of them looked festively sparkly as he yanked open his dorm door. "First let's find that christmas tree.. or.. any tree... or.. cut down a tree." There's weren't exactly any good trees to use on the island but perhaps they could improvise. Even if they had to stack cups in a triangle and paint them green. There were supply closets on each floor. He'd raided the downstairs one but there was an untouched closet at the end of the hall. As JOY once again washed over him, he threw an arm around Eva's shoulders, swayed, and hummed O Holy Night. "O.. christmas decorrationsss... I hear your siren caaaallllllll.. Bix is coming to steal you.. from the cloooset." It didn't rhyme at all, but at least it was the right tune.

Eva brightened again at the mention of a tree. Right--there had to be one somewhere! Or...yes, they could...cut one down, she supposed, but...
"We, er. We don't have...evergreen trees here, do we? And even if we did, what would we chop them with?" A...a bow and a bladed staff?! Well, they could certainly try, she supposed. In the end, maybe improvisation would really be best.
Eva laughed as the man slung an arm around her shoulders, and even though she wasn't hyped up on Joy, she was happy to sway and hum along. After a whole mission revolving around insanity and fear, joy was actually a nice change. Grinning, she switched the melody to play along,"The decorations better watch out, they better not hide, better not break I'm telling them why, Bix and Eva are coming to raaaaid~~"

"Well, Mina got an upgrade." Bix grinned. "She's got blades now but... how awesome would it be to have a decorated palm tree?" He snickered. He even briefly wondered if he could find some sort of plant on island that he could put in a pot and keep in his room. It was an idle thought, something to do with decorating or just something to do.. to take care of. Once more the JOY wiped his idle wonderings. At the closet door he let go of her and tore the door open. "Wonder if Julie kept anything in here.." She'd lived on this floor and the closet itself seemed stacked with boxes, random extra blankets covering things. A few pillows were mushed in a corner. The albino's eyes practically sparkled. "Ho ho ho.. time to open some preeeeseeeents." He started to pull boxes out, plopping on his butt in the middle of the hall.

His...his bow had blades on it now? Ouch--if she ever had another spar with Bix in the future, she was sure that she was going to get a taste of those! It definitely helped cover close-range attackers, that was for sure--
Wait, focus. Tree. Christmas. Right.
Following him to the closet, Eva's eyes lit up as she took in the large number of boxes that were contained in the little space. Beaming, she moved over to help with the boxes, lugging a particularly large one out by one of the flaps before flopping down in front of it.
"Hmmm, let's see..." Sticking her tongue out of the corner of her mouth, she shoved a hand into the box and rooted around, "That's--ah, hey! An ornament!" Sure enough, when she pulled her hand out, her fingers were curled around a bright red bauble.

"Christmas BAAAALLLLLSSSS.." Did he really have to get that much joy out of the word balls? "You know that means ... tree right?" The albino practically tossed himself into the closet. He started to step over boxes, shove himself into crevices, and after a few moments all you could see of him was his lower legs, kicking as he tried to reach something in the darkest, blackest corner of the closet. There was a dramatic rustling noise.

Eva's expression was blank as she watched the man launch himself into the closet, staring as he waded through all the boxes and looking a little concerned when he began to kick his legs. Was he...was he stuck? Was she supposed to pull him out? She figured that he would probably be yelling something along the lines of, "HELP ME I'M STUCK" if he really needed assistance, but...
...
After a moment of consideration, Eva stood up and moved towards the closet, leaning on the doorframe as she listened to the rustling with a little grin. "Did you find the guest of honor, Bix?"

"Maybe!" His voice sounded muffled but his arm shot out from the boxes. "CHECK THIS THING OUT!"  After he thrust it out to Eva his arm sucked back in and the rustling continued. After a moment, a long drawn out moment, another thing was thrust at her.  Bix finally emerged with what sounded like the hard bristling plastic sounds of an artificial tree. He was holding the base of it, a small one (about 2.5' long), and pulling. His foot braced the door frame and he yanked and pulled until he fell backwards onto his behind and the tree came with him. It was hanging with lights and bent up but it was definitely a tree. "HURRAY!!" The albino festively fist pumped until he became distracted by a Santa hat that had appeared on his head since his emergence from the closet.

W-what was...this thing...
Eva took the snowman from it, biting down on her bottom lip as she tried very hard not to burst out laughing. Why did they even have this thing?! Though she supposed it was kind of cute, in a colorful, rave kind of way. She gently set it down on the ground, only to jump when Bix's arm shot out to present her with something else.
...Oooh, now this they could use! All they needed was the tree itself, and if the rustling noise was any indication, Bix had managed to find it.
Her arms automatically shot out in an attempt to steady the man as he yanked the tree out, but she missed, cringing as he fell backwards. However, upon seeing the tree, the girl's eyes immediately began to sparkle.
While Bix was distracted by the Santa hat, Eva was excitedly chattering things like, "Aaah, aaah, you found it!" and "IT'S A LITTLE BENT but it's okay, right!?" She kept framing it with her fingers, closing one eye and squinting at it. Just a little work, and it would be the most beautiful tree here!
