Jack-ie watched as the other wiped his blood red tear from off of her equally red coat. She hadn't minded it there and minded the removal even less. As he took her hand and started heading back into the maze, she instantly perked up all the more. She could show him how nice the center of the maze was set up. She liked the pumpkin display that was there and figured that he would probably like it just as much as she does. Even Tounasu liked it and he wasn't precisely like them. Though a pumpkin, simply not the same kind.

Tounasu nodded at the mare.

"Yes. Unless they are all together, I don't think we would ever find out. And even then, they might only be able to unlock their secrets, whatever those may be, when they are older and wiser. They may still leave us one day. When they are needed for whatever higher purpose might await them. All we can do is raise them up and instill confidence and morals in them. Then when the time comes, they will all need to decide what is the right path for themselves."

Tounasu stepped lightly next to the mare as they followed the children. He was surprised, but rather happy that she wasn't frightened by his appearance, as most were. He took the chance to observe her a bit more, taking in her appearance. He thought her rather beautiful, though was pretty sure that besides the children themselves, they would probably never have a connection. The thought made him a little sad, but he did still have little Jack-ie.

"The children came to us for a reason. To each of us. They need us in some way. We serve a purpose in their lives and their lives meaning. I'm sure, in time, besides each other, we will be the most important things in their lives."

Tounasu looked over at the mare, to search her face and see if she understood. Not everyone understood the way that Tounasu saw the world and all the Mearh in it. His deeper views and meanings of things are often misunderstood by others.

Narcyz was completely unaware what that something lay at the center of the maze. As far as he was aware the only goal of the maze was to get from one entrance to the other. He had no idea of the wonder that awaited him. All he knew was that this evening was getting better and better!

Heru gave a gentle nod as she walked, "You could be right. I am not sure how many of them there are let alone how they could all come together. But it is natural for a foal to leave their parent's side one day. And we can only hope that when they do leave us that their paths are fairly easy and that what he have taught them can help him threw any task."

As she walked along side the stallion she could not help but find herself soothed by the sound of his heavier hoof falls. She had never experienced a stallion, or a mare for that matter, walk along side her. Until Narcyz had looked up on her she had never had a single Mearh notice her existence as far back as she could remember. And here was a handsome stallion with a foal very much like her one walking by herself in the evening. She could not help but find it rather comforting.

Wail walking his orange hand caught her attention. She looked at the darker lines of it as he swung between them wondering if his body had the indentions that most pumpkins hand. She wondered if his hand would be smooth or feel more like the outside of a real pumpkin. She dared to glance towards his face her pale eyes landing on the blooming flower in his hair. She wondered if that was attached to him or if it was merely for decoration. As he spoke again though her gaze shifted until she was looking into his eyes with a gentle smile. "Yes sir. I believe you are very much right. Thank you for saying that." Her smile grew a bit sad as she thought about his wise words. He really was as smart as he was handsome.

As the rounded a corner though her attention was pulled form the stallion at her side to the beautifully decorated center of the maze. She smiled knowing that her son would be more than happy to see it. She turned to Tounasu and giving him a bright grin. "This is beautiful."

Narcyz giggled as he walked with his new friend. Once they turned the corner however he stopped and stood with his eyes wide at the halloween decorated center of the maze. It was the most amazing thing he had ever seen. He had no idea how awesome a real pumpkin was. He let go of Jack-ie hand and trotted over to the largest pumpkin there and placed his hands along the smooth surface spread his fingers over them and giving the pumpkin a large hug.

Jack-ie loved walking with this new found piece of herself. She figured that he would like the same the same things as her, since they were the same in a way. Even Tounasu had enjoyed the wonderful display and he wasn't connected to her in the same way. She even thought about how great the pumpkins and things would look now with it getting darker. She loved the glow they put off from their candles. And the faces made her coo and giggle in delight.

Tounasu smiled and nodded at her.

"Oh yes. If little Jack simply grows up and does the things she wants to do, with me or not, I will be happy."

Tounasu looked up at the slowly darkening sky.

"I believe that the little ones may be drawn to each other one day. With their connection guiding them. Only they may have an idea as to how many missing pieces there are of themselves."

Tounasu watched her again, slightly noticing from the corner of his eye that she had been observing him as he had her a moment ago. His spirits lifted a bit. Thinking that maybe they did have a slight connection. She at least seemed to have an interest in his appearance, if nothing else. To him that meant she wasn't afraid, merely taking him in. He enjoyed the thought. The only thing that was different about this mare that he could tell was her ghostly appearance, which also explained how he only really heard his own hoof falls as they moved next to each other. As they rounded the corner, he smiled. He was very happy little Jack-ie had found her way back to the middle. Smiling at the mare as she commented.

"Yes it is. They did a wonderful job setting it up this year. Little Jack and I actually helped them get some of the pumpkins ready. She was thrilled to play in the seeds and insides."

Jack-ie giggled as Narcyz ran over and hugged the pumpkin. She knew he was going to love it and was so excited that she was right. She ran right over and hugged the other side of the pumpkin. This one was almost twice the size of one of the little Ista.

Jack-ie thought about it and remembered watching them carve this one and Tounasu saying that it was special. She swished her tail happily and giggled some more as she remembered playing in the seeds and insides earlier when they were carving. She wishes she could have shown her other that too, but the insides had long since been cleaned up and the seeds baked.
PostPosted: Wed Dec 19, 2012 11:52 pm

"I like to think that they will all be able to find each other again in the future. Yes I wonder if they know how many pieces of themselves are missing. Some never know they are missing anything until they fine it or more often it finds them." Heru said softly and smiled at the two young foals hugging the pumpkin. She did not feel out of place at all though surrounded by all the pumpkins. After all she was also in the spirit of the season being a ghost.

"I was hopping to get a pumpkin for Narcyz to play with. I am sure he would love all the seeds as well though I don't know how he will handle cutting the pumpkin open." she said softly and brought a hand up to trace over her lower lip with a finger as she thought about it. She hoped that he would not think she was killing the pumpkin or try to cut himself as well to see if he was the same as the vegetable. "You seem to be a stallion of many talents sir. What were you saying that had all those foals at your hooves in awe…if I might ask." She said turning to face him fully for the first time since meeting him. She looked up into his face and found the almost carved looking shape of his mouth and eyes rather relaxing. He was not like a tombstone but he had a certain warmth about him that the cold stone could not compare too. The glowing patterns along her body shifted a bit as the mare 'blushed' a bit at the thought of what a good home he would make a wandering spirit.

Narcyz giggled and smiled at Jack-ie as she joined him in hugging the large pumpkin. This was truly an amazing thing. He giggled and wondered if he would be able to crawl up inside the large pumpkin. It would make an amazing hiding spot and it smelt so very good. A sweet earthy scent that he found rather pleasing.

Letting his arms slid down from it he moved around to look at the large smiling face carved into it and got down on his knees to peer inside the hollowed out gourd. The smell got even better the close her got and it seemed even more welcoming with the heat from the candle inside of it warming the scent and the air. He reached out a hand to poke at the softer insides of the pumpkin and started to giggle at the strange feel. Reaching up he took the small red hand wanting his new friend to feel the strange feeling completely unaware that she had experienced more of this strange thing that he had.

Tounasu smiled and looked over at the ghostly like mare.

"Yes, I am sure they will find each other. I'm not sure if they know how many they're are yet. But maybe they will be connected in some way where they will be able to communicate with each other in some way."

Tounasu looked over at the little pumpkins and the display.

"I'm sure that he would enjoy carving it all the same. He probably wouldn't be able to use the carver, but I'm sure he'll enjoy the seeds and insides. Jack played in them till someone had to clean them all up. Needed to make it safe for other Mearh to walk around, after all."

Tounasu smiled at her as she complimented him.

"Of course you may ask. It's certainly no secret. I was telling the little ones a scary story. I tell quite a few of them at fairs and such. The little ones enjoy them."

He looked over at her full on as well, smiling. His face glowing warmly as he enjoyed the company of this mare.

Jack-ie giggled and smiled at Narcyz. Watching as he went around and peered inside the pumpkin, she watched him, interested in what he thought of it. But not sure how to express it in any way. Being only little, they had limited ways to communicate, but could understand each other none the less.

As Narcyz reached over and took he hand, placing it into the warmth and goop of the pumpkin, she smiled at him. She remembered the insides from when she had played in them earlier in the day. The warmth in it was new though. And the smell was a little different from earlier. It seemed somehow warmer. Much like the candle that was lightening it's kind face. She poked around inside the pumpkin for a bit, until she found a missed seed. Pulling it out of the pumpkin, she held it out to Narcyz.

The thought of watching the two little ones playing the the seeds and squishy guts of the normal pumpkins was such a adorable idea. She would love to see it. She hopped that it would not be too late to buy one for her little colt. Maybe she could have the filly join in and help. Maybe they would just need to spend the evening with their new friends.

She glanced at the tall stallion as he turned to watch the the little ones. She smiled softly, "It is amazing where and how a connection can start between Mearh." She laughed softly and gave a nod, "Yes I think they would need to keep things clean and safe for other guests. Maybe if I were to get a pumpkin maybe your little Jack would like to join him in playing with it." she said gently.

As he turn to face her she felt her dark cheeks heat a bit. "Oh do you really? That is wonderful. I am sure we both would love to listen and see you tell a tale. Are you going to be preforming another story tonight sir?" she asked softly. Even though she had been filled with fear at first she found herself very grateful now and wanting to spend more time with him and his little one.

Narcyz giggled softly glad to see the smile on his new friend. He did not know that she was already so familiar with the inside of a pumpkin. However when she found a seed and held it out for him. HIs glowing eyes went wide and he reached out to take the large flat seed from her hand.

He sat down on his rump on the ground looking at the seed in awe. He had never seen such a thing and he looked from it to Jack-ie then back and gave a couple soft squeaks of excitement.

Tounasu smiled warmly at the mare, though it was a sad looking smile.

"I'm sure that she would love to play with him in it. And she enjoys helping thinking up a face as well. You will have help galore with her. And I'm sure she will help your little one in thinking things up, showing him things as such."

Tounasu looked her over a bit. He was enjoying spending time with this mare. Though she was afraid of him at first, as most usually are. He found it interesting that she was afriad for a different reason and not because of the way he looked. He was rather happy about that actually.

"You may ask me anything you would like to, anytime you would like to. My life is an open book. Much like the stories I tell. Tonight I don't have anymore planned that would be suitable for little ones to hear. When it gets darker the scarier adult stories are what I enjoy telling. It sets the mood a bit better."

He looked over at the little ones.

"But I've never shyed away from a private story telling."

He winked at her and then laughed a bit.

Jack-ie clapped her hands together. She was so happy that the little seed seemed to bring so much excitement to the others face. Knowing that she had been in awe of the seeds herself just earlier that same day, she hoped that he would feel the same way about them.
Jack-ie sat down right next to high, leaning on him a bit.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 10, 2013 11:56 am

The sad tone to Tounasu's smile was rather attractive to the mare. It was strange how sweet it was. "Oh yes I forgot about the face. I am sure that she would be more than helpful to him. I do not know how creative little Narcyz is. So it would be a good thing if she would be willing to to help guide and teach him."

She felt a bit strange as the jack o lantern stallion looked her over. She was not used to someone looking over her. Normally most Mearh did not see her or if they did they chose to ignore her and just pass by. And yet here he was looking her over. It was rather strange.

Her pale eyes grew a bit wide as he described himself. "Really? Well I will not ask you too much sir." She said gently and her face fell a bit into a frown. "I am sorry to hear you will not be telling any more lighter ones for the little ones. But I can understand about the darkness. I feel sorry for Narcyz...I am rather sensitive to the light so we don't go out often in it."

She smiled as he looked over the little ones. He seemed to generally enjoy the young ones. It was refreshing to see. At the wink and his comment she covered her mouth a bit and blushed. "Is that so? That would be wonderful sir! I am sure Narcyz would be in awe of your story telling! Do you need someone to watch Jackie when you tell the darker stories...maybe then she can help Narcyz with a pumpkin at that time."

Narcyz smiled warmly at the seed stroking it with his pudgy little fingers. As Jack-ie sat next to him and leaned against him he giggled and leaned into her holding the seed so they could both see. Clearly she had seen it but still he was glad to share this with her. He then blinked and remembering the adults he reached up wanting to show them the seed as well.

Tounasu looked over at the mare.

"Well, carving a pumpkin will be the perfect way for him to get some creative juices flowing. And she will be more than willing. She seems to have already been sharing something with him over there."

He smiled at her, seeing how she had been watching him look at her. He was a bit ashamed at being caught looking at her, but still couldn't help it. There was something about her that simply attracted him, in more ways than one.

"You may ask anything whenever you would like. I assure you."

He looked at her gently.

"I can see why such a condition would keep you inside. I think we will simply have to arrange a way for you both to listen to one of my stories. I'm sure that Jack-ie would love to pick you out a good one."

He thought for a moment.

"She actually usually sleeps in my lap for them, but I think that you have a rather splendid idea. I mean, if you don't mind watching her, of course."

Jack-ie poked at the seed a bit as well when it was shown to her. She enjoyed the little seeds. Found them simply amazing in their own way. Tounasu had actually let her plant one of the little seeds, telling her that it would grow into a pumpkin as well. She couldn't wait for that to happen.
She watched as Narcyz held the seeds up to the adults. She was sure that they had both seen seeds before, but she giggled and laid back as he held it up for them anyway.

Heru would never be able to admit that she enjoyed the way he looked over her. She liked the feel of his eyes taking her in, there was something about they way he look at her made her feel like he was really seeing her. If she had a heart that still beat loudly within her it would have picked up speed within her bosom. But her very faint beating heart would not be able to be heard anyway even if it did pick up speed.

"Thank you for allowing me to ask anything I would like Tounasu. You seem to be a very gentlemanly stallion. And I appreciate the offer to arrange something for us. I would like very much to hear your story." she said gently. She looked up at him and shook her head, "Of course I would not mind watching her if you will let me. Though I do not want to interrupt her sleep time."

Narcyz's movement caught her eyes and she turned from the large stallion to look at the little black pumpkin Ista. "What do you have there Narcyz?" She walked over to him and knelt down to take the seed he offered, "That is a very large seed. Did Jack-ie find this for you? She is very helpful isn't she? Would you like her to help us make a jack-o-launtern?"

Narcyz grinned up at his mother as she took the seed blood tears pooled in his glowing red eyes and started to gently drip down his midnight cheeks. He was so happy that his mother looked so surprised. And when Jack-ie laid next to him. At his mother's words he gave a nod and wrapped his arms around the red pumpkin Ista he laid with her nuzzling her shoulder in a yes.

Tounasu smiled at her warmly, flicking his tail a bit. She had a way of making him feel... different. Like he was actually wanted, instead of feared. Though he hadn't had very many others get aggitated from his exsistence since he joined the fairs and such for the Hallows Eve gatherings and other such festivals, the pain and memories still lingered from when he wasn't accepted as normal. Or thought to not have feelings of his own simply because of the way that he looked. It gave his heart deep and tremendous joy.

"Not a problem at all Heru. I find that others like a bit of honesty and openess. No point in having any secrets when you don't have anything juicy to share anyway."

He laughed a bit.

"Not at all. I'm sure that she would love to skip her sleep time to help out with another pumpkin. I'm sure the parents and other adults wouldn't mind her not being there either, since she sometimes snores a bit."

Tounasu looked down, watching her kneel down to talk to the little one. He saw how much she loved the little stallion just in how she let herself be absorbed by anything he had for her. Tounasu found himself thinking about what a wonderful mother she would make to other little ones as well, laughing a bit to himself at such a thought. Or at least at the thought that things would ever go so far as for them to have their own little ones.

Jack-ie snuggled right up against Narcyz. She enjoyed the other little ones company so very much. And she was so delighted that she had made him happy. When she heard his mother mare say something about helping with another pumpkin, she practically jumped up and down for joy. She couldn't wait. And she was sure that her father would certainly let her help out with such a thing. Knowing how well she had helped everyone out earlier.

Heru found herself rather found of the idea that the large stallion felt it only right to be honest and open with others. Though she was sure that he did have some juicy points in his past. His far away look for a moment proved that he did. She wished she could remember her past. The only memories she could bring up were wandering around a graveyard unable to be seen or draw anyone's attention until the little black pumpkin had found her. He had looked right up at her and just wept with those little blood tears until she had knelt down and picked him up.

She smiled gently at the bright stallion, "I think it is very noble of you to be so open. And I shall treat your daughter as my own Tounasu. You wont have to fear for her safety wail she is helping us." She said before kneeling down to the foals. She had wiped the blood tears from the black foals face before she smiled at the bouncing little red filly. "Then it is settled you will help us miss Jack'ie wail your father tells the adult stories." She said gently returning the seed to her son before standing.

Narcyz had no idea what a jack-o-launtern was though he guess it might be something similar to the pumpkins with faces on it. Since that is where the seed came from. He could not wait. He got to his hooves and held out his hand for Jack-ie wanting to find this jack-o-launturn and help make it.

Heru stood and her dark cheeks grew darker with the phantom of what could be a blush. She had no idea what he was thinking about but the look he had held for a moment as he looked at her had made her feel alive for a moment. She reached out gently and stroked his forearm with her cool fingers. "Thank you Tounasu. I am sure you are just as popular with adults and teens as you were with the foals. I look forward to hearing a story from you some day." She was a bit surprised as she found it hard to lower her hand from his arm. She wondered what it would feel like to have those broad arms wrap around her shoulder. She wonder if maybe then she would finally feel at home wrapped in his arms no longer trying so desperately to find a grave. He seemed like he could be a prefect partner.

She finally lowered her light brush of a touch and turned to the foals again, "Lets go and pick out a pumpkin...letting ones...and not Tounasu." she said and the little male foal started to toddle towards the large pumpkin like stallion.

Tounasu looked her over as she seemed to think for a minute. He wondered what it was that she was thinking about... What she might be remembering herself. But he was much too polite to ask a lady such things as what was in her personal thoughts. Perhaps if they were able to get closer together... He could certainly hope for that.

He smiled as he watched her wipe the tears from the little black pumpkins face, talking to his own little red pumpkin.

"Oh yes. And I'm sure that she will enjoy every second of it too. I trust you completely that you shall take good care of my own darling little pumpkin."

Jack-ie stood up in a flash as Narcyz held his hand out for her, taking his hand in her own and giggling at him. Boy did she know he was in for a treat when he got to find out exactly what they were going to do. She figured that he can't possibly know anything about these things, since she herself had only just learned about them today. And no one could possibly be as learned as she was in such matters.

Tounasu looked at her again as she placed her hand on his arm. Though her fingers were cool on him, he could feel the warmth of her thoughts. It was a strange sensation to him, though not unliked. He let his mind wander a bit about what it would be like to have such a sweet and careful mare as his own. Certainly it would be an adventure and he was sure that she would be a kind and caring mare to him. He could sense and feel all of it from the way that she touched him. He blushed ever so slightly at the thoughts running through his head.

He watched as she talked to the little ones.

"You will go with Heru Jack-ie. Though I'm sure you aren't going to mind that in the least."

He smiled as the little black pumpkin started to move toward him as Heru mentioned picking out some pumpkins. The things children did always amused him.

~Twilight...Angel~

To the little black stallion the adult's talk was taking too long and it was boring. He did not know what they were going on about and why his mother was touching him so. But all of this meant that they were not making these Jack-o'-lantern things. And he and Jack-ie were being forced to wait.

It was always hard to figure out what adults thought of when they were quiet and watching you. Heru enjoyed the way the orange stallion was looking at her. She felt farther drawn to him like she had to Narcyz when she first met him. Tounasu was a stronger beacon then her little grave and he was bolder and safe. She smiled up at him as the two little ones came closer to the large stallion. She stood up and moved closer as well. "Come on little ones. We should let your father get to his story telling. Narcyz….let's take Jack-ie to the other pumpkins." she said as she held out her hand.

Narcyz placed his free hand on Tounasu's calf. He did not know why he could not pick the large stallion to be his pumpkin. He was one right? He made a bit of a point when Heru commented and said he could not. But when she held out her hand he felt a need to go over and grab it. He looked at Jack-ie his glowing eyes confused and looking ready to cry again. He did not know what to do.

"I promise we can spend more time with Tounasu. And you can make him a jack o lantern for him to remember you." Heru said smiling gently. She so very much wanted to remember Tounasu. She hoped that she would not forget him like she did so many living things.
