And then Sparrow dropped a completely different bomb (but not completely different at the same time) onto Angeline, the young woman looking towards him with a very stressed look on her face. "The Haunted House?" she inquired. It wasn't something she was familiar with at all. She likely would have become accustomed to it at some point, but...

"It all sounds very unsafe." she frowned, leaning her chin into her hand with only the kind of ey-...face-hand coordination one could have from learning their own space over time. "Humans with weapons, haunted houses that apparently find you instead of vice versa...." she tilted her head to the side and seemed to mull it all over carefully.

"What kinds of questions does one ask a hunter, though? I mean, to gauge for that 'Not right' feeling?" she might have been thinking too complex, rather than about simple things she knew innately as a denizen of Halloween that weren't often taught besides between adults and their scarelings.

"Er," said Sparrow, realizing he had taken too many steps forward in his explanation and not stood still long enough for her to actually grasp what he was saying. "Sorry. I seem to be babbling on quite a bit. The Haunted House appeared several months ago; so far it seems its purpose is a...well, I'm not sure how to put it, exactly, but it's a place where both Halloween and humans seem to be able to access, so it leads to a lot of...contentions."

His expression softened a little. "It's...a lot to take in, I know," he said gently. "It's going to seem overwhelming and like you're not safe, but I promise you that you are safe in Amityville. I know it doesn't seem that way right now, and yes we have had our fair share of incidents, but that doesn't mean that you aren't going to handle them. I think you'll do just fine here."

Her questions made him blink, Sparrow reaching up a hand to rub at the back of his neck. "Ask them specific questions," he said. "Things that they might not know, things that are characteristic of Halloween specifically. Just...exercise reasonable caution."

".....Should write a pamphlet and sneak it under everybody's door..." Angeline said after taking all of this new information in. Hunters....Haunted House.... certainly there was no shortage of things to concern herself with. But it sounded like those were her less primary concerns, actually. "So it seems like learning is actually helpful to survival, in that sense... since they'll eventually figure out the answers to easier things."

Especially if people asked about the same stuff commonly.

She massaged her brow gently. "But it all sounds like good information to know." That much she was confident of. After all, Sparrow sounded like a very trustworthy individual, so his words to the wise were trustworthy as well.

"Is there anything else I should be keeping my proverbial eyes peeled for?"

He laughed a little. "Yes, a 'How to Survive Amityville High' packet," he said, then thought a little more about it. It wasn't a completely bad idea, and seeing as how he was running for Student Council VP, perhaps this would be a good boost in his campaign...

"Learning is good," said Sparrow agreeably. "I myself am a huge fan of it, as it were. I love learning. But, then again, I am quite the nerd, so that might be why."

He patted her hand reassuringly and then tilted his head thoughtfully, tapping one finger to his chin.

"Don't eat the smashed potatoes. They taste very dry."

"Exactly. I mean.. this is the first I've heard about these Hunters or the Haunted House, and it sounds like they're both a bit of a...reoccuring theme of sorts." It would have been unfortunate if she'd just..run into one or the other and then had no idea where to approach it all from there.

"I enjoy being read to, when I can find a willing victim for such things." Angeline confessed. "Since I can't really do much reading of my own. I mean..well.." she flexed her fingers then laughed, "I can, but people's voices are much more soothing to me."

His last warning earned a small giggle as Angeline pressed her fingers to her lips. "Really? Sounds like a lot of the food is dangerous, isn't it?"

"They are," said Sparrow, sighing. "I wish I could say otherwise, but unfortunately you'll be running into them quite a bit, I would say. But don't worry - " he patted her arm again. "You'll be all right. There are plenty of people here that will make sure everyone is safe."

He smiled at her, even though she couldn't see it, and gave a small laugh, shaking his head. "Well, let's just say it's better to get your food elsewhere," Sparrow said conspiratorially. Then he stood, gently pulling Angeline with him.

"Listen, I've gotta get going," he said. "But first, I will escort you back to your room, because what would I be if not a gentleman? And please, Angeline, if you ever need help with anything, please don't be afraid to come and find me. I am most willing to assist you in anything you need."

Angeline half-wobbled to her feet, despite being helped - or perhaps because she was helped. She wouldn't clarify either way, instead just smiling at the reaper. "Also good to know. I'll have to make friends with someone who cooks safely and with less.." she laughed a bit, "questionable ingredients."

As he started expressing his need to get going - after all, he couldn't dedicate his whole day to her little newbieness and he'd already been a fantastic help - Angeline held up one hand, palm outwards towards him. "Oh, of course. I completely understand. You've given me plenty to think about." Her small smile grew, "I appreciate knowing there's at least one helpful person around here."
