"No. I didn't. We were just supposed to catch up. What the ********... even... I barely remember even now. One minute we were good and the next - nothing. I didn't even have a..," Rin frowned deeply as her fingers curled around the edge of her bed. "Let's start there okay."

Rep gave her a baffled look as he failed to follow her line of thought, too caught up in the memory of the fight and how easily it had gone entirely off the rails. "It was just a fight, I didn't try any harder than I did on anyone else, I had no reason to. I was hoping it would be like the last time we fought, you know, a long time ago. When things were different."
"If that's what you mean by starting there. That was all that was involved."

"I don't understand what's changed so much that a fight like before... ... attempted now is just," Rin shook her head with a frustrated grunt. "There has to be something different... if there isn't... if you're just that much stronger than me now...," she narrowed her eyes at him.
"I know you're a sun and suns cause the most damage, but... what the ********> I thought... I thought we were like... fairly matched. I thought we would be a challenge like always. A struggle to win or lose," although she looked outwardly pissed, her eyes looked surprisingly warm and wet.
"That was not a fair fight at all," she stated the obvious. "and I want a ******** rematch," which was stating the not-so-obvious.

"There was nothing different about the battle than any other time I've fought you. I wasn't like, even trying, I wasn't angry, I had no reason to be." he frowned deeply, looking scolded and uncertain. "And we should be evenly matched. We always were. But it's like I said, I think my charge is broken, I think there's like, something wrong with me."
When she mentioned a rematch, he gave her an incredulous look. "As for fighting me again, not going to happen, I'm banned from sparring, and even if I wasn't, I told you I wont even summon Tracey until I know what's going on with me, I might ******** hurt more people."

"I wanted it to be like before too. But it wasn't," Rin untensed a bit to give him a slightly more hurt and resigned look. "It wasn't though."
She watched him for awhile in silence as he continued on but ultimately shook her head at his refusal of a rematch, "I heard you. That's why it'll be without weapons. A real fight like before."

The frown didn't recede. "It won't be like before. I don't even want to fight unarmed." It was only after he said it the pun edge to the sentence even struck him, it wasn't how he meant it so he kept going. "Just the ******** idea of fighting right now - with pretty much anyone - makes me sick to my stomach." He hadn't even retaliated at Melvin when he was shooting at him, when he probably could have punted him off the cliff for his troubles.
"With the way I am now, nothing can ever be like it was before."

Rin actually seemed to click into something hidden in his messages. And it wasn't that terrible accidental pun. He was more affected than she'd thought. It was one thing being in denial and avoiding s**t... but he was acting broken. As though this was it for him and he was done trying altogether.
"You can't just never fight ever again you know," her expression looked keen but stern.

He couldn't really meet her gaze. "I know. If I'm no good for fighting, I'll get put down. But I just don't ******** know man. If I don't even know why it went so wrong in our fight, should I even be fighting? What if I hit Ace or something too by accident?"
He shivered. "If he hadn't been there, you'd be dead."

"I know. I've been waiting for him to see me too but I guess once I'm discharged I can seek him out myself," she gave rep a thoughtful but... calmer look. Her suspicions unfortunately seemed rather spot on.
"Look. William? You owe me, we both can agree on that right? You're no good to me dead so just. Don't throw yourself away on me yet. I'm not done with you."
"I'm not going to pretend like what you did to me was okay. It wasn't. Not by a long shot. You know it and I know it," she squinted at him idly. "I just want you to face what had happened and me. Don't disappoint me."

Rep didn't look entirely convinced that it would ultimately change his issues with fighting or alleviate the knock to his confidence, but he nodded anyway. "Aye." It was easier to just nod and agree than try to argue to any contrary purpose.

"Well, for starters. I need someone to change my bandages right now," She was staring expectantly. He needed to face what he did. Face it very closely.

Rep gave her a look that said without a single word. Are you serious?
"I'm not ******** qualified to change your bandages, that's a Life hunter's job. It's not my division."

"It may not be your division but it is your responsibility. William please," she gave him a look that very clearly said she was as serious as a missing arm.
"You owe me."

"Rin, be ******** serious. I can make this up to you, but changing smelly bloody bandages and doing it badly isn't the way to do it. There are people whose job this s**t is. Its just stupid. You need to actually have the thing heal, not get infected at the last minute"
He crossed his arms and didn't budge.

"I am being serious," She suddenly pushed herself up most of the way and attempted to turn her back at him. Nightgown exposing pale white skin dappled with dark bruises that disappeared behind paper thin cloth, "Undo me. I'm not arguing with you. It is important to me that you are the one to do this William."
