Sasha should've seen the question coming. She hadn't, and it blindsided her just a bit.
"It's. A delicate situation, you understand, mm? I have to be careful, because I would rather die than hurt either of you. He's. Wash is special."
She cleared her throat softly, looking pensive.
"Back at the lair, I was out of my mind when they took me up top. I'm still not certain what happened, but.. he was going to let me kill him, Rin. Just so I could live."
Sasha felt queasy just thinking about it.
"Besides, you're still in here. Hardly a proper place."
She felt terrible again, just for a moment. Half a moment.
"I'm certain we'd need more room."

Rin bobbed her head along, "I understand." That was it. She'd dropped the ball all over again. That was okay though... Wash was... she honestly doesn't know the man. Maybe he kept Sasha alive but... Rin shook her head. There was no point dwelling on it. She was chasing after a concept that was never meant to happen and she just had to accept it... wait, what?
"Huh?" Rin's face twisted up in a quizzical stare.

Hmm. Rin wasn't sure what that meant exactly but she dropped it as loud peeping began again. Her attention swung back around to the egg, "God, I have no clue what it could be."
She looked back at Sasha just to pat the spot on the bed behind herself then scoot even closer to the tank. Inches from pressing her face up against the glass.

Sasha toed off her other shoe and settled them near the chair before climbing onto the bed next to Rin. She leaned over the other woman awkwardly so that she could get a good look at the habitant of the tank.
"I don't think I've ever seen one of these things hatch before."

"Me either to tell you the truth," Rin was watching her breathing as she felt the heavy warmth of Sasha looming over her. She smiled slightly too hard and it hurt her face.
She jumped slightly though as a piece of shell suddenly shifted upwards. A sharp little beak the cause, "A bird?"

Sasha laughed softly.
"It could be anything, honestly. I never know what to expect between one stage and the next."
She hummed softly, oddly transfixed by the peeping that came from the tank.

Rin nodded, "You're right. It could have three faces for all I know." The egg and peeping all seemed to halt as the contents within began to rest again. Rin was on the edge of her bed with anticipation. "Life is so unpredictable in general. I mean. A week ago I was lonely but had all my arms."

Sasha rested her chin on the other woman's shoulder so that they could both peer into the tank. She jerked back slightly after realizing what she was doing, brows furrowed.
"I'm sorry. Does it hurt?"

"A little sore but it's okay," It did hurt, but it was the sort of pain that was worth gritting your teeth and bearing it. She suddenly shifted, "Oh! Here it comes I think!"
There were more holes appearing along the sides of the egg as the creature spun around weakening the integrity of it's hard-shelled prison.

Once more Sasha leaned over Rin, pale eyes locked on the movement within the tank.
"This is kind of exciting," she admitted softly.

"It is," Rin agreed. Suddenly something inside seemed to be stretching out to push against both ends with all it's might. First try a failure it took another pause to catch it's teeny little breath before puuuushing again only this time, pop went the top and something green and covered in dark red blood seemed to ooze out from the bottom. Glowing red eyes closed tight at the bright new world around it as it tried to find it's way. It wobbled a bit before shaking off a bit of blood and then flopping over with an exhausted chirp.
"What do you suppose that is?" Rin looked to Sasha bafflingly.

"I have no idea. It's a homely little thing, though, isn't it?" Sasha hummed softly, an almost disgusted look on her face. It looked like it was kind of rotting, and Sasha pursed her lips slightly.
"I was hoping for something a bit more adorable," Sasha admitted with a chuckle, leaning back before swinging her feet off of the bed.

"I don't know... I think it's kinda cute in its own right," Rin leaned down to grab a fear candy and shift the lid up to drop it inside. "It's got stitches like me."
She looked back at Sasha searchingly.
Inside, the small creature was attempting to groom itself using its teeny red hands and it's little black beak. It was too busy to notice it had an offering just yet.

"You're lovely. That thing is.. well. I guess it's cute."
Sasha deftly slipped her shoes back on her feet before rising from the bed, turning just in time to catch that searching look from Rin.
She lifted her brows as if to say 'What?'
