The God of Punks was caught off-guard by the left jab, causing his grip on his opponent to faulter and send him back a step. Now Chrono wanted to play fisticuffs? That suited Shanahan's fighting style just fine.
As Matt stepped back from the blow, his right side was already preparing for retaliation. Before he even knew what he was doing, his right arm shot forward like a bullet, his fist aiming to hook The God of Time right in his jaw.

Chrono took a step back from the blow after he was hit from the punch and smirked as he aimed another quick blow to Matt's face but this time to the right side!

The Punk's beautiful jawline was rocked with the punch, his head whipping to the left side from the blow! A stray chuckle emitted from the momentarily stunned Shanahan...
... Until he shot his left fist forward, going for a haymaker to the side of the God of Time's cheek!

Chrono chuckled at Matt's haymaker after he tilted his head to the side. The God of Time smirked as he moved forward and attempted a collar and elbow tie up to The Punk.

The power struggle between the two Gods was going to end here and now; at least, that's what Shanahan was hoping for. Once Chrono turned his head back and went in for the tie up, The Punk proved that he had other plans in mind with an attempt to bring his massive fist down for a crushing blow against the Time God's crown!

Chrono was hit, his eyes widened as he seemed to be filled with rage. He attempted to grab Shanahan and toss him judo style across the ring like a rag doll..

With a roar of disapproval, Shanahan was tossed over Chrono and landed on the other side of the ring. As his back landed on the mat, the momentum was carried to bring him rolling to his feet and -still- moving; that damn God of Time was powerful.
As his forced momentum carried him to the ropes, he turned his back and rebounded off of the ring's taut barrier, and went flying back towards his opponent. Now was the time for the deciding factor. Who would be the one standing at the end of this early-match stand off?
... Shanahan was hoping for neither as his feet left to ground and his body carried forward like a torpedo. This is where a normal person would aim for a dropkick, a clothesline, or even a boot to the face, as was his signature trademark. But no, Shanahan's head was the only thing heading towards Chrono. A high-speed headbutt that would surely send both men to the mat, should it land.

Chrono was hit with Shanahan's headbutt and fell to the ground with a hard thud. He looked up at the ring lights for a moment, momentarily stunned as he half expected Matt to go for his signature kick.
The ref began to count and made it to two before Chrono rolled out of the ring to take this fight to a whole new playing field.

Shanahan was never known to planning out his in-ring work. He was starting to reconsider this way of doing things, as he was now laid out on the mat with an aching forward. "I'm... Never doing that... Again,": he mumbled to himself as he slowly began to open his eyes. The sound of the referee counting him out broke the silence in his head, realizing that he still had a match to attend to.
... And where was his opponent, but rolling out of the ring! At the sight of this, The God of Punks knew what was coming; things were finally about to get fun. With a groand and a roll to the opposite side, the massive heavyweight rolled out of the ring and disappeared from sight. Mainly because he landed on the mats with a thud. After the initial gasp in pain, he began to push himself up, scanning his surroundings as he did.

Chrono moved up to the fan railings and started using it to climb up to get to a footing..

With the help of the apron, Shanahan's massive frame soon rose back to it's feet, a sign that this fighter was not out from just a simple headbutt. A sigh escaped his lips as he began to walk around the ring at a fast pace, heading to his opponent.
With high hopes that he'd manage to get to Chrono before he was fully assembled, Matt would charge once they were on the same side, and attempt to hit him with a boot to the side of the head! Classic Shanahan!

Back in 2008, when Chrono had Cartwright in a similar position than he was in now, Chrono remembered what happened when 'He' tried to big boot Cart, Cartwright moved out of the way..
That is what Chrono did, barely and much like Chrono hurting his 'hourglasses' back then, the impact would hurt Shanahan's 'Little Punks'

Shanahan was used to people moving out of the way. Ring ropes, turnbuckles, referees, ex-girlfriends... These were all things he was used to hitting his Shanahan Jrs. with.
... But never a barrier. Until tonight, that is. Because right as Chrono moved, The God of Punks' foot was sent over the barrier instead and landed his godly endowment on an unforigiving railing. With a yelp of pure, uneasy pain, the crushed Matt flew over the barrier and into the crowd!... Holding onto his precious testaments.

The ref made a count, but Chrono picked up replica WWE:E tag team championship belt (available on WWEEvolutionshop.com) and held it up screaming I AM THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS before he decked it at the ref.
SHUT UP! He yelled to the ref. He then hopped over the barricade and attempted to pick Matt up in a fireman's carry. If successful he'd drop his back on his knee.

While Chrono was busy with his ego-trip against a man that was just doing his job, Shanahan was busy trying to get himself to his feet. The pain inflicted upon his holy testi-ments was grave, but he would push on. It wasn't the first time they were harmed, after all.
Regardless of The God of Punks' attempt to get to his feet and re-adjust himself, he found himself up on Chrono's shoulders right as he turned to look for his opponent. He found him, -and- Father Time's knee found Matt's back as he was tossed over onto it. With another yelp, The Punk fell back to his previous position on the ground, now holding his damaged back instead.
