But a Parsec is a measurement of di.. Nevermind. *familyguy*
I've heard only good things about this game and a demo game was said it was going to be had at the local club. I look forward to trying it out.

Aye, so I've heard.
With the prepainted minis, too? Really seems to lend itself to the jump in and play type of game. Which will be a welcome break after so many games that require so much preparation.

The game also comes with quick start rules, meaning you can play the game on purchase in less than ten minutes.

All I need to do now is find out who bought it for me. I hate mystery gifts that I can't trace.
On the bright side, finally got an ion cannon! emotion_dowant

So, what does it exactly do? Shut down the entire ship for a turn?

Forces a ship to move at speed one straight forward for a single turn, it can still shoot though. I think dodging also suffers.

Lady Blodwynn I played a few quickies with John and I must confess, I really need one or two extra starters! sweatdrop The extra dice and templates are always welcome, as are the extra ships, though I do highly recommend also getting the regular X-Wing and Tie Fighter blisters, should FFG ever get around to re-re-releasing them, as they got a few interesting pilot and upgrade cards included. Just don't get too carried away with the Tie Swarm. talk2hand

Tie swarms routinely win at tourneys held by FFG and others. Keeping the movement clear and concise may be a bit problematic, but a Tie Swarm led by one or two aces and backed by Swarm Tactics allows for some serious ganging up on individual models, breaking the enemy apart piecemeal. Be wary of cluster missiles though.
