"Sounds easy enough," Ariane replied, stroking her chin with a thoughtful look, "Always easier to do than try explaining something... Like riding a bike." Once you start doing it, it gets easier over time... Explaining how to ride a bike? Not so easy.
"Is Mike even his real name?" She mused out loud, "Might always want to run a search on 'Nana', his weapon... As for card games, the only one I know is blackjack. Basically, you get 2 cards at the start- You know, it's really easier to do it than to explain it. Or have a deck of cards with you when trying to do explanations."

Ofelia happened to have a deck of cards with her, carried in the back pocket of her pants. The short shorts could actually hold way more than people gave them credit for, and as soon as the cards were mentioned the redhead had the pack pulled out and was holding it towards Ariane. Her face may or may not have been a look of puppy and childish eagerness, combined into a person who took a bad beating and was covered in bruises.
It was not pretty even if she wasn't trying to be.

"Now that's what I'm talking about," Ariane grinned, taking the deck of cards from Ofie. She then proceeded to sit down on the floor, legs crossed. Taking out the cards from its box, she shifted through it, tossing the joker cards back into the box, "Basically, your goal is to beat the dealer with cards of a higher value than his... However, the total value of the cards cannot go above 21, or it's an automatic lose. Like I said, you will start out with two cards, and the dealer will ask you if you would like more cards after cards had been distributed to all players."
It's probably one of the simplest card games, once you've played it a few times, and gotten the hang of it.
"If you have two cards, and one of them is an ace, the value of ace is 11 or 1. However, if you have more than two cards in your hand, the value of ace is 10 or 1. Value of all Kings, Queens, and Jesters are 10 each," She showed each card as she talked about them, "The more people are playing, the better... We can't play with two, but you want to practice to get the feel of it? I'll be the dealer... And then maybe you can try teaching me solitaire."
She was already shuffling the cards; maybe they could play this together with others sometime in the future... For now though? Time to make Ofie into a pro.

Ofelia sort of inwardly groaned (and maybe a little physical) as she had to get back down, her body protesting the motion. It wasn't that she didn't want to sit, it was just hard and it sort of made her hurt. Getting back up meant she'd have to push with her arms (unless she was lifted) but whatever she'd get over it because someone was paying attention to her and there were also card games.
"Ah'd love ta learn, an' yeah Ah'll show ya solitare. Yer game sounds a little easier though, so Ah'm excited ta learn it." After finally getting settled enough that she could spring up should she need to the teen nodded for Ariane to continue on. "Jesters? Ya mean Jacks, or. . . do ya play wit' jesters too? That's pretty cool." Ofelia only knew a lot about cards because she used them for solitare and telling fortunes. Maybe instead of solitare she could read Ariane's fortune? She was getting really, really rusty.
"Okay, ready whenever ya are."

"Oh s**t, I meant Jacks," Ariane replied, slapping herself on her forehead. Laughing, she begun shuffling the cards, distributing the cards first for Ofie, and then herself, until they had two cards each, "I don't even know why I said Jester instead of Jack... Anyway, the way I was taught, both cards remain hidden. Casinos usually have it one card face up, one card face down."
She checked her own cards - wow, those are some really bad cards - before gesturing for Ofie to do the same.
"You can choose not to draw anymore cards from the deck, if you are confident about beating the dealer's hand," She grinned, tapping the card on the top of the deck of cards placed between them, "If not, you can always draw as many cards are you like in hopes of getting a higher value. Oh, before I forget, a blackjack is an ace and a card with the value of 10 - it's an automatic win."Rown 2d10; the number correspond to the card? ouo So 1 = ace, and 10 = 10, Jacks, Queens, Kings?

"Oh! Okay, Ah think Ah got it but we'll see." Ofelia nodded to everything Ariane said, practically eating up all her words. If there was one thing that could be said for the defense of the redhead it was that she was a fast learner and learned best of all when it was hands on. It would take her a bit to catch on as it would with anyone but sooner rather than later she'd have the game down pat.
The cards dealt to her were looked at with a frown, the numbers so low she assumed it was bad, and taking the grace she'd seen from movies here at Deus (whenever she happened to pass by someone watching one) she tapped the top of her cards with two fingers. "Hit me."
Then she grinned like an idiot.

Ariane grinned, sliding the topmost card off the deck, and towards Ofie, wondering if she got a low number or if she was testing her luck... Or maybe she got a pair of cards as shitty as hers were.
"Tell me if you need more, and I'll keep them coming~"

"Uh.....hit me again!" Ofelia had no idea what she was doing, this just seemed really fun, so she tried her best manly voice. For the time being she could pretend they were in a casino somewhere and she was on a roll against a notorious cardshark. The dames and fellas depended on her to set things straight.
Ofelia also might have only known two out of seven or so words that just ran through her head.

"Ah guess so? Ah mean Ah jus' like seein' ya hand me cards too, so...uh...hit me again? After this next card Ah'll either stand or flop so if it's all the same ta ya?" She looked to Arianne and grinned sheepishly, doing her best not to shrug her shoulders with the motion. Sitting down and having someone else move the cards for her made the pain a lot less but just general expressions had her wincing from the effort. Stupid body, heal faster!
Also she might have been crossing her toes a bit hoping not to lose on her first hand. There was such a thing as beginner's luck, right?card standing 16

"Another card, coming up," Ariane chuckled, sliding another card over to Ofie, "Hey, I'm not ecstatic about my cards, so I think you have pretty good odds."

" . . .Ah think Ah busted?" Ofelia looked at her cards and then flipped them over. She ended up at 24 because she was so excited and apparently couldn't count so well. It also just happened that cards weren't something in her control. "Does this mean ya win, or do ya have ta keep tryin' too?"
Beginners luck had totally failed Ofelia and she was seething a little on the inside.

"That means I win," Ariane replied with a chuckle as she revealed her hand, "If you hadn't hit that last time, and chose to stand, I might had lost... 16's a really low number for a banker to have. It's the minimum value."
She gathered the cards, putting them back into the deck, and shuffling the cards.
"As the banker, you have more to lose because you'll have to pay all the winners. If nobody hits, you can assume that they all got good cards, and you'll probably have to take the risk of going burst in order to get a hand that will beat theirs... You just got to act depending on the situation," Putting the shuffled deck down, she grinned, "Let's play again another time... Think I got to send you back to the infirmary for now."

Ofelia was feeling sleepy, not that she was willing to admit it or was even rightly aware. Perhaps it was because her body was being far more honest than her brain and she was wearing down. Any activity was certainly strenuous on her being as a whole and even though Ofelia wanted to protest she just sort of grunted in agreement.
It took her a little bit of effort to get to her feet, swaying in the process, and she paused to place a hand on her head. Getting up so quickly was making her dizzy and it was evident. "Uh...Ah feel a bit...off?"

"Well then," Ariane grinned, taking Ofie's arm and carefully slinging it around her shoulder in order to act as her support, "Probably because you lack rest. I'm sure you'll feel right as rain after some rest~ Go ahead and lean on me if you need to."Rown NO NEED TO BE. I'm not exactly fast myself. :'D
