I just ship your characters, Esme had said. That was present tense. And one of the things about her characters was that they shared her body. Fleur gulped and tried to get over it before she slipped into Oh No Please No Land again. "Pairings? Uh..." I think fan fiction is really stupid and I only read it when people tell me to, so, "Why don't you just show me the last thing you wrote? I'm sure it's great." She smiled at the other girl. "If you love something enough to work at it for a long time, nothing can get in your way that you can't overcome. I do love acting, and I'm glad it shows. Thanks for telling me." Fleur looked away then. "I guess you don't have to love what you do to be good at it though. You just have to try hard. But if somebody else is making you do something, it doesn't feel worth it. If you're doing it for yourself, that's when it makes you happy." She shrugged, looking back at Esme. "Maybe that's why so many celebrities are depressed. But we're doing this acting and writing for the right reasons, so we'll be ok even if we do get really famous."

"Ehehehee, I suppose so. I really haven't thought about it like that." She smacked her lips and puckered them, before grinning. "What made you get into acting? Like, did you all of the sudden go 'WHOOOA this is awesome right on' like some sort of epiphany or.. were you inspired by somebody? Or it just sorta happened?" Esme was always interested in hearing backstories! Not that Fleur was a character in a big novel or anything, but it was still very interesting to hear.

"You want me to talk about acting?" Fleur's voice held the slightest hint of surprise, but it wasn't like she was going to refuse or anything. "I love acting. It's my life- it's been that way since I was little. The first show I remember was for my preschool when I was four. Everybody else was scared to go onstage, some of them were crying. It was pretty basic, we were just walking around and stuff. I was a rainbow. After that, it was..." She paused. "I could go on for hours, but I don't have hours. I could tell you about every single play I was in, up until today's. I love it. Without drama I could seriously die." She giggled. "It's a weird thing to live for, I know. I share myself with my characters and sometimes I don't know what's left." She giggled. "Look, you made me go back into celebrity mode, and you're the interviewer! I guess that's one of the hazards of being a writer, though. Just like I don't mind being the center of attention." She stopped, taking a second to meet the other girl's eyes. "Ok, your turn. Tell me everything- I spilled my life story for you. What do you uh... live for?" Her voice was borderline sarcastic, but she really was interested.

"Hmmmm... Ahahaha," she laughed in between her pause, closed her eyes. "I don't think it's anything weird. I think it's actually pretty cool. And, ahaha.. I didn't mean to sound like a fan again. I just like hearing stories. Like you said!" Esme settled her hands behind her back and puckered her lips. Spilling her life story wouldn't be a ... good idea. The senshi part and the part before that. "I live for..." A heavy blink. "Ahahahahahaa, I live for love, I guess! I just like making people happy and smile. I write a lot about love. I, ah, haven't really experienced it for myself yet! But I like helping people with their problems and I like it when they read my stuff and get inspired, y'know? I think I started writing like.. four years ago. Seriously. Some people don't think fan fiction is all that serious but I guess that's what my readers like! "At some point I guess I'll start writing my own stories. I have a few ideas buuuut... ahhh... cater to the audience and all that, ahahaha."

"Love?" Fleur asked, a bit surprised. Esme did seem like a bit of a hopeless romantic, though. "It's a good passion. There's so much hate around. The world needs more people who live for love. Fleur giggled at her over the top speech, then continued. "Not that I know anything about love. Well, my characters are always hopeless romantics, but I've never been kissed offstage." She looked down. "Well, once, but that was on a dare. Even worse." She shook her head and shrugged, trying to think of a way to change the subject. "Uh... writing? That's so great. I can't really help you with that, either, like I said." Fleur squinted a bit as she tried to think of something. "Well, maybe characters. That's what you don't have to worry about when you're writing fanfiction, but if you're writing," Better. More mature. Real. "Original stuff, then you have to think up great ones. But... I guess I don't really make up characters. I just make them more interesting, like you do." She frowned slightly. "It is for the audience, though."

"You're right! The world really does need more people who live for love." Esme nod nod nodded. It was true. That had been her own secret mojo for at least four years, if not even more. The code she lived by. "If no one else will love, then I will just be picking up the slack." She smiled as she listened to Fleur's admissions. The girl had never loved before, never even kissed except on a dare or onstage. "Ahhh, to be honest though, even if they're not your own characters, you still need to get into their skin. So to speak. Just like with the characters you play on the stage, they're not imagined completely by you. You need to figure 'em out." She giggled. "People knock fanfics off as worthless because they're not their own characters, or that they're just mashing this character and that character because they want to see that pairing. I guess it's true for a lot of fanfic writers, but not for me. The pairings I write... gotta make sense. And you just peel their layers like an onion to get to their juicy centers." Esme stopped in her tracks and winked. "I guess that's why I like writing fanfic more than writing my own stuff. So I can get to the parts of characters that haven't come to light yet! That's part of the fun!"

"Well..." Fleur hesitated for a split second. "I don't think fanfiction's worthless." It wasn't quite a lie, some good writers had started out writing fanfiction, right? " I know it takes a lot of work to polish a character and make them your own. I really do get to share their skin, though." She smiled as her thoughts turned back to acting. "But if you do it the right way, then people like it. Of course, I don't think there's such a thing as fan acting. All the actors already know who their characters are going to love." She shrugged, but didn't really care. "It's sweet what you said about love. And it's a noble goal." She managed the shut up before she said something really stupid that made Esme hate her. Well, almost. "It's not the only thing in life, though." Or acting. Or writing, I think. Fleur looked away from the other girl quickly. Of course she had to say something dumb. "It's really important. I just don't know a lot about it. That's all." She turned back to Esme and forced a smile. "Sorry."

"Really? What about improvisation?" Esme asked. "Liiiike 'Whose Line is it Anyway'? Or just plain ol' roleplay? Or maybe.. MAYBE... we're all just actors on this stage. All the world's a stage and we are merely players~" she sang. "Ahahaha... I don't really know much about it either," she admitted. "Love, that is." Esme paused, trying to collect her thoughts. She did tend to write a lot about it. And say a lot of stuff. "I mean, I guess, I've crushed on a lotta guys and girls but, uhm. Nothing's really come of it." Save for real life shipping fodder. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut she kept that little tidbit to herself~

"Improv isn't exactly polished..." Fleur pointed out. "It's fun sometimes, but it's not really deep. Well, at least not to me. I'd rather have my lines memorized, know my characters inside and out, you know." She shrugged, frowning slightly. Like writing fanfiction, improvisation was not her thing. "That's what the stage of life is for though, I think. Actors mostly know what is going to happen next... who to love, when to randomly start dancing..." She smiled at Esme, trying to lighten the mood a little. " And..umm... love?" Fleur said awkwardly, doing a quick search of her mind for the Correct Thing that a helpful, supportive new friend would say. This, at least, wasn't hard to figure out. "Don't worry. You're so cheerful and pretty I'm sure someone great will fall head over heels for you eventually. Probably even soon." She tried to look reassuring then glanced ahead. This time she could see the cafe she was heading to.

stari_maga Sorry for the long wait! :c Esme smiled back at Fleur. "Yeah, I guess that makes sense," she agreed. "If you know what's going to happen in life, that might make things easier. Actors have that going for them. I'd rather have that spontaneity myself. That's just who I am." She laughed nervously at her next words. "Oh, I'm not really worried about it. If it happens, it happens! And that's that~!" The girl's eyes followed the actress's. "Oop, is this where you're headed?"

"Well, spontaneous things happen a lot no matter how how hard you try to avoid them," Fleur said, still smiling somewhat ridiculously, "in life and on stage. Sometimes the sound effect gets turned on a scene early, or the curtain falls or you move or something really unexpected happens..." She was referring, of course, to becoming a senshi, but that's wasn't something you could just mention in casual conversation. "And yeah," she continued, waving at her friends through the window before pausing at the door to say goodbye, "This is where I'm going. It was reallynice meeting you, though."

stari_maga Annnd exit stage left. Thanks for the scene! <3 "Ahahahahaha. Uhm, right!" She snapped back to attention, glancing at Fleur's friends before turning back at her. "It was really nice meeting you, Fleur. Have fun at your thingie! Your.. yeah." Derpy Esme was losing it. But she just kept that smile up, stopped in her tracks and waved a goodbye to her new friend. "I'll give you a call sometime~ We'll do lunch~" That's what famous people said all the time to each other, right? Right! "Ciao~"
