Siddie nodded firmly. "Okay. Let me put a bag together and get someone to take notes and feed the minis. Do you know how long we'll be gone?"

Sammy blinked watching as Siddie listed off things she would need to do in order to be ready. "Y-yeah that's good. Call Calder and have him take care of it maybe? The notes and stuff. We can ask Junko to watch the minis?" She blinked again, "A day or so, maybe longer. It says we need to camp in the weeping woods till we find a portal to the mountain...."
Eventually she finally gave in too her own curiosity, "You umm. You seem eager for this, are you sure you want to do it?"

"I'll ask him nicely." Siddie smiled. "And maybe promise cookies. Ooh, good idea, the minis will be just fine with her." She slid off the bed and pulled a shoulder bag out from under it. "If it's not too long we shouldn't have to take much with us."
She looked up at Sammy's question. "I'm not letting you go by yourself this time," she said firmly. "I'm going to help and not sit at home like a useless lump."

"Junko is always good for something like that, if she doesn't have student council stuff going. She's a sweet heart really." Sammy watched Siddie pack, "Pack for you, not me... there was a reason I was made for this stuff. Think about it, I don't need to eat much, or sleep. Undead are perfect for just... leaving in the woods to camp out for this stuff. Worry about what you need."
With that said she stood by watching Siddie as she stopped to look at her. "Siddie you aren't useless I just, I don't want you to be like me, to wonder if everything you did was a mistake I just..." She shifted uneasily rubbing at her left arm, scratching it even. Something she hadn't done over and over in a year or so, not until recently had the old habit come back.

Siddie paused in her packing to look up at Sammy. "If I don't do anything," she pointed out quietly, "then I wonder if that was a mistake, too."

For a while the purple eyes just flickered watching Siddie as she turned to stare back at her. Eventually she moved over very quietly and cupped Siddie's cheeks before offering a slow kiss on the lips. When she pulled back her eyes where half closed inspecting Siddie's face.
"Pack... pack what you need, I'll meet you at my room okay?"

Siddie held Sammy tight for a few moments after the kiss, then released her, nodding in silent agreement.
Ten minutes later, she showed up at Sammy's room, dressed in practical traveling clothes and carrying a small duffel bag slung over her shoulder; Clove, for once, was nowhere in sight.

Sammy thankfully was already half packed, a change of clothes, a cycle of old worn clothing replaced with fresh pairs and more supplies took place in her duffel bag now. She lacked the proper camping equipment and instead settled for a rain tarp she scavenged and the one sleeping bag she owned. Siddie shouldn't mind the last part too much.
When Siddie arrived Sammy stepped out the door clicking it shut behind her with a nod. "We go. I um... hopefully we won't need to camp too long, I only have a tarp and a duffel bag, I haven't really had a chance to get everything we need but it should do for the first few trips right?"

Siddie nodded. "I'm ready," she said, squaring her shoulders. "We can do this."

Sammy offered only a sharp nod back to Siddie patting her shoulder once before moving out the door and leading her on the way to the weeping forest.
----
Once in the forest Sammy settled in, tossing out her sleeping bag and pulling out the tarp, moving about she placed the tarp against a near by tree grabbing a rock to drive one of the spikes into the old wood making a half decent tent by hanging the tarp between two trees and pinning the other side down to the dirt making a nice wedged rooftop.
"Okay... now the hard part.... waiting."

Siddie missed Clove already. The drutten would be safe and well spoiled in Junko's care, though; Siddie made herself stop worrying. Clove wouldn't be safe on this trip, and that mattered more than how much she liked its company. When Sammy had gotten the makeshift tent set up, Siddie pulled a folded blanket from her bag and spread it on the ground so they could sit down. "Here," she said, and patted the blanket.
She took out a notebook and a pencil. As long as they were going to be sitting here for a while, she was going to study her Development of FEAR Combat notes. She hated memorizing names and dates, but she needed the class credit to move on to the applied technique workshop.
She'd barely gotten started when she heard the soft distortion sound of a portal opening nearby. Hastily, she stuffed her notebook back into her bag and swung it up onto her shoulder, getting up to peek between two trees at the wavering glow of the opening in reality. "Sammy - this looks like - let's try it," she said excitedly.

Sammy moved easily to the blanket flopping down on her back relaxing somewhat in the makeshift camp. It wouldn't be a quick snap of the fingers to find a portal so relaxing for a bit didn't seem like too bad of a deal.
While Siddie worked at her notes Sammy simply blinked out her eyes and let the empty void fill her vision as she listened to the wood around them. Here and there a mini would make a noise, but otherwise it was the quiet peace of Siddie scribbling in her notes.
She missed the sound of the portal, but not Siddie's voice. Rolling over her purple flames flickered back to life as she moved to stand up and follow after the other ghoul towards the shimmering glow of the portal.
"That... seems like a portal to me alright." Grabbing her bag again she moved through the trees with Siddie closer to the glowing rip in space. Very carefully a pair of bone fingers would reach out wrapping around Siddie's right hand squeezing gently.
"You ready?"
