"It's a pleasure to meet you, Terra!" She chirped back politely, bending down in another small bow. So she had found the ghoul...but how was she to keep an eye on her--
Cooking? Xiu's eyes lit up slightly at the word, her tail waving with a little more vigor. So she cooked! That was definitely a delight to hear, considering that the baku honestly didn't know many other students who cooked. "If I wouldn't be imposing on you, I'd love you join you. I can definitely tell you where the marketplace is and...about..." She paused, furrowing her brows. Escuela...?
...
"School...?" She guessed, slowly.

"Si, school!" Terra said. "I have never been! Ah, but my room, it is downstairs," she said, starting to lead the way. It seemed she even lived on the same floor as Roch--not that she realized it. "I do not think I have any neighbors," she said. "It is very quiet down here," she added as she headed to the room across from Roch's. Her room was rather empty, but there were beautiful pieces of cloth hanging on the walls in various stripes of colors. Her mat in the corner was neatly made, and her kitchen even had decorations, such as beautifully painted pots and pans. There was a small four person table in the corner with simple wooden chairs--she had found them on the corner of the street and cleaned them up. "I do not have much," she said again, "but I ask that you make yourself at home." She headed for the kitchen, gathering her supplies to make beans and rice and simple tortillas.

"Aah, that must be quite the change then. How are you liking Amity so far? I'm certainly happy to answer any questions you may have."
She followed after the other ghoul, lifting a brow where she realized just where it was she was staying, gaze automatically flickering to Roch's door. My, this was...mostly certainly a coincidence? Unless Austin had something to do with Terra's room assignment or something, but there was no use wondering about that right now.
The baku couldn't help but smile as she took in Terra's room--there were so many colors and patterns! "I think your room is lovely," The baku assured her, keeping her hands behind her as she leaned forward to eye one of the colorful pieces of cloth, "How does it feel to live in a dorm?"

Terra went still, her mind going to the past for a moment. "It is... lonely," Terra admitted. "But I will grow used to it," she added, starting to cook. She wasn't looking at the other ghoul as she said that. Life had been lonely, actually. There was a small painting on the wall by the pieces of cloth that Xiu was looking at. It was a picture of a skeleton--but one that was gorgeously dressed with beautifully coifed black hair decorated with roses and flowers painted on her skull. "I hope you are not bothered by spices, senorita Xiu, I tend to make things a bit spicy," Terra called over her shoulder.

The other ghoul's answer was an unexpected on, and Xiu momentarily tore her gaze away to look at her in surprise. Lonely? There was a moment of pause, and then a small smile spread over her lips. "I'm sure you won't be lonely for long, Terra. You'll meet lots of new people here!" Her voice was chipper as she spoke, a small laugh escaping her lips, "I was really shy and awkward when I first got here, but I got better."
And seeing as Terra seemed to be quite sweet and friendly, Xiu had no doubts that she would make a bunch of other friends as time went on. Casting the painting on the wall one more admiring look, she moved closer to where the reaper was, cocking her head to the side.
"I'm fine with spices! Is there anything you'd like me to do to help?"

"But--" Terra started out, only to stop and smile slightly. "Would you set the table por favor?" she asked. "The plates and cups are in that cabinet," she added, pointing. There were only four plates and four cups, but they were hand cast and painted, and quite beautiful. She had obviously been very careful when packing them to bring them from home. "I completely forgot," she said abruptly. "Were you not looking for someone? I do not wish to interrupt a meeting--"

"Of course!" She chirped cheerfully, before moving off to where Terra had motioned towards. Opening up the cabinet, she carefully reached in to grab two plates and two cups, lifting her brows as she examined them. "These are so pretty! Almost to pretty to eat off of," She added, looking a little wry as she gently set them down on the table.
The baku stiffened a little at the inquiry, immediately reminded of the fact that Austin had left her with little details about his request. For example...was Terra supposed to know that he had asked her to keep an eye on her? ...And that being said, what was their relation anyways?
In the end, Xiu managed a small smile and lightly shook her head. "Don't worry about it, it's not a big deal! Besides, I'd like to get to know you some more! I want to make sure your adjustment to Amity isn't too difficult, you know?"

"Gracias, senorita Xiu, you are most kind," Terra said as she stirred the rice and flipped the tortillas with an expert move. "Mi Madre, she made those," she added in a quieter tone. "She was very good at glazing, so do not worry, they are far tougher than they look! I am afraid I never got to her level of ability, though. I enjoy playing in the mud, but clay, she eludes me." That seemed to have been a joke. "Do you mind water?" she asked a second later. "I have not learned what drinks are popular here, or I would offer them," she added as she brought the food to the table. It looked far different from the usual stuff seen in Halloween, but it smelled great.

Mi Madre...mother, Xiu was guessing? At least, that's what it sounded like from the context. She hadn't missed the past tense either, but that didn't seem like a matter that she needed to bring up and pry about.l
Carefully lifting one of the cups, the baku turned it over in her hands to admire it, gently running her fingers over the patterns with a little smile. "Pretty and tough. They're much better than many of the plates and cups that you can buy around here." She emitted a little chuckle at the other ghoul's joke, looking a little sheepish as she set down "I tried, once. A pottery class..."
She trailed off and made a face. It was clear how that had gone.
"Oh--water is fine!" Xiu reassured her quickly, perking up as the food was brought over. "They smell wonderful! Do you like to cook often? You seem to have a talent for it."

"Si! It was one of the things that DID stick with me," Terra said as she started dishing out the food. "Ah, I forgot the forks," she said, heading back into the kitchen and returning with the silverware before sitting down. She bowed over the food, a simple, graceful motion that indicated she was mimicking her madre. Then she dug in. "I am very hungry!" she announced between bites. "I forget to eat sometimes," she admitted. Then she grabbed a bottle of hotsauce from the table and topped off the already spicy food with it.

She murmured a thank you as she was passed a fork, looking at the meal curiously before cutting off a small piece and taking a bite. At once, her face lit up. She probably would have complimented Terra right then and there if she hadn't caught herself, remembering that she still had food in her mouth. Still, the rapid waving of her tail was probably a good indication about what she thought of the reaper ghoul's cooking.
When she finally swallowed the piece, she beamed, "You're a good cook! I haven't really tried anything like this before to be honest, but I really like it." Spicy, yes, but the baku definitely loved a little spice in her food.
Taking a sip of her water, she tilted her head to the side at Terra's admittance. "Too busy to eat?" Or just distracted?"

"Too busy, I think," Terra said, slowing down her eating. "Would it be rude to ask you about yourself?" she asked. "I am not quite sure what species you are, I admit," she said, flushing. "Where I come from there is mainly undead. I am the only reaper that I know of. In fact, I only just met--" She stopped, her mind rushing, "another reaper this week."

Xiu chuckled, looking more amused than anything at the question. "No, it's not rude at all! I get that question a lot, actually." Looking sheepish, she scratched her cheek, "But I'm a baku, a type of dream-eating demon."
She perked up at the hint of hesitation in Terra's voice before she finished her sentence. Another reaper? "Aah, that must have been quite the change, then! There are quite a few reapers in this school, as you can probably guess from this dorm. We have a lot of monsters and demons too." Quite the variety, when she thought about it. Xiu certainly hoped that Terra wouldn't feel too uncomfortable by all the change, though.

Terra smiled. "I wish to meet many, many people!" she said. "I have met a very fun ghost named Siobhan and a very protective one named Frost, and a most wonderful gentleman named Nahm! And a very strong reaper named Hel," she added. "Oh, and one of my favorites--please do not tell the others--an undead named Merope! He is very much my opposite," she said. "He comes from somewhere very quiet underwater." Then she stopped, her eyes widening. "But you say there are so many more people that I should meet--I have a lot to do," she added, wondering where she should start. "Oh! Perhaps you know of some of the other reapers? I would like to know who I should meet!"

Terra, Xiu decided, was super sweet, and the baku was almost glad that Austin had pulled her aside all of a sudden. After all, had he not asked her to look for the reaper ghoul, would she be here talking to her now?
Her face visibly lit up at the familiar names--especially Hel's--and her smile grew at the ghoul's inquiry. "Other reapers, hmmm? Well, there's my big brother, Shun! He's a little intimidating, but he's not a bad guy. And umm...Mot! Mot is a real cowboil gentleman--I'm sure you'd like him!"
And of course, there was..."Roch too! He's a great guy, and--...oh, well actually, your room is directly across from his. Apparently he's not in right now though."
