As they watched the Thread turn to ash a flash of movement out of the corner of his eye caught F'itz's attention and Brumath jumped between just as a short length of thread blew into his flank.
he assured his rider as he appeared back in formation. he added as he watched the Thread advance towards them.

Adi hated this, the fear and the uncertainty of Threadfall, the very real danger of injury and even of death. Her first Fall had terrified her, and things had only gotten marginally better since then, in part because she knew now that there were even scarier things than Thread, at least for her. Regardless, though, she was never eager to take to the air, but it was what they had to do. They had to help protect the people below.
It will be fine, Mine. We will be fine. We are always fine. Mazamath did worry for His, but he kept that worry away from her; she did not need him to add to hers.
When they were both ready, he threw himself into the air to join their wing and fight.

Or, well, they were always mostly fine. In a not-permanently-crippled sense of the word, not in the completely-uninjured sense of it, although that would have been nice. Thread laced across Mazamath's back, and he went between as quickly as possible, before it could do him any damage that would render him really not fine.
It still hurt something fierce, but he answered his rider's inevitable concerns with calm reassurance that it was nothing to worry about. He could fly. He could fight. He was fine.

Dezima and Microth

Hearing the alarm, they were as ready as they could be. Dezima and Microth flashed into the sky taking a quick glance around before Microth bellowed and dipped her wing to avoid some of the silvery menace. Hold tight, Mine! The Green warned before making a steep dive to gain speed, pulling up to attack a clump of Thread with flames.
Don't forget to let the others know we're here! Dezima said quickly, pointing out another clump to her dragon.
Microth and Dezima are reporting in! Microth informed all, unsure if their Wingleader was present or not yet.

Dezima and Microth

Damage: 3 - 2 = 1
HP: 37 - 1 = 36
Mi, look out! Dezima squeaked, ducking low to her dragon as Microth snarled and attempted to dodge some of the silver strands. She was swift, but not swift enough. The burn against her wing pulled a pained roar from the Green before she took them between, appearing lower and out of the way of any clumps.
"Are you alright?!" Her heart was pounding and it was difficult to tell how bad Microth had been scored.
I'm alright, Dezimine. Let's go!

Z'fer & Calanoth // Burn Post
Z'fer got his wing ready and into the air as fast as he could manage. With all of the distractions recently Thread had been the last thing on his mind. Now he'd have to put all those little worries to the back of his mind and focus on the task at hand. Out of all the falls to be distracted in, today's was the worst being right over Trine itself.
Calanoth was lucky as a dragon he forgot most things before too long. Where his rider fought to get into the fighting mind frame, Calanoth was already there. His stomach felt tight with the flamable gasses built up within and he released a long belch of flame the first chance he got at a low falling clump.
HP: 79
Agi: -3
Burn: +5
Thread Burned: 5+5=10
Thread Remaining: 55 - 10 = 45

Z'fer & Calanoth // Damage Post
Calanoth bugled and slipped between as a few strands grazed his ridge and headknobs. ~ Mine did it get you? ~
~ No. You're quick buddy. ~ Z'fer replied gratefully. He hadn't even thought that they might be in the wrong position for that clump. Had Calanoth not been so sharp Z'fer might have gotten a face full of Thread.

S’kor/ Bronze Scarath (Gale Stalkers Wingsecond)
HP: 62
Agility: -4
S’kor had seen the wing was ready to face the Fall. He double checked the bags of firestone across his dragon’s neck. It was automatic as he tightened the straps and followed his wingleader into the sky. They were fighting on home turf now.
The large bronze rumbled. His second belly had been stoked well with the gasses that would burn Thread to harmless ash. Eyes whirled a bright red as he tossed his head waiting for the single. Half a wing flap behind Plexith he followed with a trumpet of defiance. As Thread began its fall Scarath flamed on a curtain of the silvery stuff. Though it was a mighty flame it missed most of the target. Scarath took quick evasive action to avoid being hit by it.

[Kleos and Moriath Agility: +1 HP: 63/77 +5 to burn] Kleos asked, gritting her teeth at her dragon's pain.
Moriath replied turning a barrel roll to evade and burn away a clump of Thread. Without another immediate target she reached out to address the other wingleaders.

~ Storm Riders report well. ~ Calanoth responded after questioning his wing. Their damage was minimal so far. The bronze and his rider were feeling optimistic about their chances and the safety of the people below.
~Right! ~ He warned his rider before sharply turning to follow a patch down.

Optheli/ Green Dynith (Gale Stalkers Wingrider)

She knew Dynith had forgotten the last time they’d fought. Optheli checked her straps and climbed up, murmuring encouragement to her green. They were as ready as they were going to get. She let Dynith carry them aloft with the wing. Her eyes scanned the horizon for the tell-tale of Thread. There! Alright my love. Let’s go! For the dragons! For the Weyr!
Dynith gave a tiny bugle. She would fight for the honor of her fellow dragons and her Weyr. She beat her wings and rose to meet the menace. Opening her maw she flamed the strands. They burned satisfyingly.

Once again as their attention was divided they failed to notice a secondary patch of thread as it came down upon them. By the time it was noticed it was too close for his Wingsecond to catch and Calanoth blinked between again, silver strands fracturing and dissolving to dust as they left trails of exposed green tissue along Calanoth's tail.
Calanoth bugled with a draconic laugh as he re-appeared. ~ Still fine Moriath! ~ The comment made Z'fer snort. Yes indeed his dragon was feeling particularly enthusiastic this Fall.

Banking to the side Brumath burned down a small tangle of Thread but as he did so a gust of wind blew another clump into Brumath's chest, sending him between with a hiss of pain.
