Was she? Was she really taking it seriously? Yes. Maybe. "Are you telling me you could win forever?" Yes, that was a challenge creeping into her voice. She was hurt, she knew that, but she wasn't dead yet. She sounded very pleased at the moment. Yes. Sherry knew what Armagnac was wanting. Their fear attack was not big or flashy, nor was it meant to be. It was something that the opponent would really only notice, if you know, it actually hit. Armagnac bellowed. She was not pleased about Sherry missing. HP: 17 Damage: None Charge: Used! (1/2 left)

Really. Was she going EASY on him?
That question seemed to be answered when he watched her weapon fizzle.

He took the opportunity to deliver a light punch to her head.
Hopefully that would get her head in the game... or out.

Armagnac was pissed. The yelling going on Sherry's head was almost enough to distract her from the hit that came to outside of it.
"I'll take it seriously when I feel like it. And nothing, apparently."
Armagnac raged a bit more.
"But if you want me to keep hitting you, I can do that," she grinned, stepped back, and took another swing at Jake.

That hit was going to leave a bruise, but at least she was finally starting to take things seriously.

Armagnac was still raging, but it was slightly less angry and more just hungry at this point. Sherry was doing her best to shut it out.
"The infirmary? I have to admit, I would rather not end up there," she grinned and took another swipe at him.
"But that doesn't mean I want to put you there, either."

"That we will." She might have been wearing a cocky grin on her face, but she could feel her fear shield weakening. Crap. She didn't want to lose for the second time today. Armagnac was bellowing. She wanted to hit something. She wished Sherry would grow the hell up and learn to hit something. Seriously. Right now. This was disgraceful. Some silly little new kid showing them up? Apparently, Sherry had finally stepped into the mindset of, 'if I'm going to lose, I might as well enjoy it.' "I assure you, you'll get a top-notch performance from me sooner or later." Armagnac started ranting about how that attitude gets you killed, and Sherry really needed to cut the kid. Completely ignoring her weapon's instruction, Sherry stayed where she was and looked Jake up and down. Her best line of attack would be... HP: 11/40 Damage: Zero. Hell, how did this girl even survive?
He scoffed. He didn't need pity.
"It'd better be soon, or I'm going to wipe the floor with you."
He knelt and swung his leg out, hoping to sweep her off her feet.
It wouldn't hurt TOO much, but a tumble should help knock some sense into her.

It certainly didn't hurt too much, but it did knock her off her balance. It was ungraceful and undignified, and sent the voice in her head to eleven. Using the butt of her glaive as a support was the only thing that kept her on her feet. And she was pretty sure she'd never live it down. "By actually putting me on the floor?" If Armagnac hadn't been bellowing with hunger and happiness, she might have commented on the fact that Jake seemed to have figured out how to manipulate the life trainee.

He caught the blade on his shoulder, and fought back a hiss.

Jake was whittling away at her fear shield. "Whittle" might not have been the right word. She could feel it near falling.
The life trainee was doing her best not to show it, though. She didn't want to be weak, and she didn't want him to think she was weak. And she really didn't want to lose for the second time today. But it looked like she was going to.
So she did the only thing she could do. She grinned, and took another swing.
Armagnac was full of encouragement.
