Eyebrows came together at the snarl gracing Roka's teeth. There were only two properly dramatic mortal ways to shut up a lion like that. Striking them across the face and winning a fight, or. . .

The goddess stepped forwards, the flat top of her skull bumping against the exposed curve of Ruka's throat and chin.

"Get over it."

Kaelyndra
Shhh.

From the way she reeled back, Roka would have taken better to being struck. Her family, especially given the background her mother had, were mostly stable and productive. But. Within it, she was dominantly hands-off. Her mother's willingness to cuddle up with her brood had made Roka uncomfortable from a young age. It was no one's fault but her own she had such an aversion to contact.

This was. . . embarrassing. Highly embarrassing. Roka would have blushed if lions were known to do so.

She made several attempts at words that all ended up nothing more than stunted sounds. Finally, she latched on to a few and was able to filter them through her teeth. "What is wrong with you?!" she demanded, but it was more comical than offensive for an audience.

The goddess stood there, nonplussed, as the brown lioness reeled at her. Fortunately, there had been no physical backlash. Pain wasn't on her top priorities. She'd been hoping for a little less dramatics.

"You're more repressed than I thought," Uuni mused out loud. No regrets.

If Roka wanted to have a discussion on what was wrong with Uuni, however, she'd have to push extra hard. The egotistical goddess was already moving on, unphased.

"You're a lucky b*****d." Uuni wasn't looking at Roka, but the mound of dirt they'd finished. She had a few words to say after all. "Someone came to bury you."

The fur on the back of Roka's neck bristled up and stayed that way, try as she might to keep composed. She curled her tail around herself after she sat, though the very end thumped anxiously on the ground. What? She couldn't completely avoid any nervous twitches. She was only mortal.

"You're a lucky b*****d."

Charming.

"Someone came to bury you."

Roka huffed out a counterfeit sigh. "How... enlightened." The grave dirt wasn't complaining. "May death treat you better than life, little cub," she said boldly. Now that was eulogy.

"--Provided there's anything after it."

Now that was a moment ruiner.

Uuni smiled.

Not a pleasant, happy smile, but a sardonic, tickled twitching of the lips that matched the swivel of her ears.

"There's something." Even if it was a giant collection of souls to feed the wicked plots of an evil-doer. Until someone made it through that gate and remembered when they returned, it would frustrate both gods and mortals alike.

"Well, good luck." With not freezing to death, she meant. Perhaps she'd return later, to make sure the brown lioness would make it through the frost of the morning. But, Roka had probably been through it before and she was headed towards the warm continent center, not away from it.

"Well, good luck."

Why did that feel more like a threat, Kill 'Em With Kindness Style? Two could play at that game, even if Roka was going to end up on the losing end since she couldn't fly or vanish into thin air. Forget about any immunity to the weather she suspected Gods had.

"Thank you," Roka replied. "And thank you for your help."

She left it at that and continued on her way.

Best hurry and find somewhere warm while she still could. . . Something told her it was going to be a cold night.
