Halloween was really different without a golem. In them it felt like anywhere else with only the added distraction of a skin that didn't quite fit. Without one though, Rep very quickly became aware of a low level feeling of wrongness that permeated the place. It was as if he'd walked into a room slowly but steadily filling with toxic fog, everything felt just a little bit more difficult, whether it was breathing or moving.

Tracey stated grimly.

The cloaks were a good idea he thought to himself as soon as he had his on. Too many students and horsemen knew exactly what they were dealing with when they saw the white and gold. Wearing a black cloak in a place like Halloween was like wearing a mask at a mask convention, the perfect disguise.

It was vaguely irritating the way the pendant clicked against his necklace when he moved, but at least it was a reminder he'd remembered to bring it.

So portals. If he was a portal, where would he be? Probably being all ******** dramatic in some clearing somewhere.

It didn't even take that long to find that for once in his life, he was totally right. The portal waited in the middle of clearing with every pretence of innocence, oblivious to how dramatic it was apparently being. "Here's hoping this takes us where we need to go."

There was a slight twinge of memory, a door in the haunted house and a warning against it. He hovered uncertainly, eying it. He hadn't been superstitious before he became a hunter. He damn well was now. "...together?" he added hesitantly.

"Like hell I'm getting into one of these things by myself," Harrison said. He hesitated, then repeated with a growl, eyes on the portal, "Together."

He got a hold of Rep's arm, just in case.

Getting into the Underwater Labyrinth: - You need to camp out in the Weeping Forest after reading the information. Hunters can enter Halloween as well without a golem (recommended as the Labyrinth itself is very golem unfriendly due to its climate and high altitude as well as natural enemies), for a max of 30 minutes. Each roll takes 5 IC minutes - students can pretty much park here as long as they need as well as horsemen while Hunters will need to exit and enter back again.
- All players roll 1d100.
- Rolling 50 or less will let players find a portal that randomly leads to someone's house. Feel free to RP this as you please as awkwardly as you please
- Rolling 80 or less will let players find a portal that leads to the Land of Holidays. Right now is really not the time for Xmas cheer...and the creatures there seem extremely hostile
- Rolling 90 or less will lead you to the Haunted House.
- Rolling 91 or higher will let you find the portal! Success! You can now proceed inside.

After shaking off the near-death experience, Harrison sorted out his hood and supplies and headed with Rep back to the woods. Their shields were okay, since the prison had been in the human world.

It was just a matter of finding the right portal again.

He and Rep, per prior agreement, went together...and Harrison pulled him right back.

"Definitely not that one," he said, momentarily as grey as the messed up place and its fog.

Rep was still a little bit daze and shaky looking after the snakes. Thankfully the cloak hid exactly how much paler than usual he was, and quite how flighty he was being. Oh yeah sleeping was going to be fun for a few nights.

As they moved through the forest again he found himself acutely aware of how snakey tree roots looked.

As he considered where the next portal could be hiding, he once again considered where would be the most dramatic place to be.

It was under a fallen tree.

He tried not to look too smug as he pointed. "Over here!"

"I'll be damned," Harrison said, ducking under the tree, hand around Rep's arm. "You really got a thing for finding this underwater s**t. Sure you weren't a pirate in a past life?"

They dicked around in the Lighthouse a while before heading back to Halloween. A break was good for their nerves, anyhow.

Snakes that spit bugs shouldn't have even been a thing.

Harrison picked again, even if his last portal hunt had gone tits up, this one feeling kind of blustery. Snow. Where the hell...? A set of glowing eyes decided for him.

"Uh, your turn," he told Rep, beating a hasty retreat back into the woods.

A mug of hot chocolate sometimes made all the difference in the world and Rep felt a lot better when they returned to halloween.

He found a portal, but it looked somehow different than the others. He narrowed his eyes at it thoughtfully and stuck his head in. There was a dizzying moment where head and body were in separate places - almost enough to make him throw up, and he leaned back out in a hurry.

Leaning on one of the nearby trees he shook his head, looking perturbed. "That's not right. There... it's like. Its a room. With people. Not the one we want."

Harrison looked in the same portal Rep had.

"Yep, just a bunch of people," he affirmed. "Weird."

"Guess this place has like flukey portals too."

The next one he found also didn't look quite right. There was a minty breeze. He checked it out only to have what looked like an adorable Christmas elf in a hat spot him, freeze and then charge at him brandishing a razor sharp looking candy cane.

He leaned out of the portal in horror.

Christmas was never going to be the same.

"How were you finding the other ones, anyhow? Thinking titanic thoughts?"

This time he found his way into some lady's bathroom.

"Uh, whoops. Sorry lady."

Rep was hesitant to even go looking for more portals after that last one.

He checked in it again just to make sure he hadn't been tripping balls.

Yep. Still there. What the ********>

"B0nez is getting worn out. How many ******** portals they got in- here we go." Harrison grinned.

"This one," he said, keeping his voice down.

The right portal was next to a gloomy pond, where moonlight shined just right through the treetops.

Harrison was relieved to find Rep back in the lighthouse.

"...Spike wall," he explained, a little meekly. "Uh. Anyhow. Like I was saying. It's sorta nice being out together. I mean, it's no bed and breakfast, but-"

They'd been landlocked for months.

"I know what you mean. I like actually doing s**t." he got so bored on the island there wasn't even words to fit around it. A moment to moment existence when he wasn't harassing one or both of his guys. "I'm just sorry I ******** like, can't seem to figure out this whole dungeon thing."

The portal in front of him was actually familiar, despite the distorted swirl of the thing he recognised it. He wasn't going anywhere near it.
