Say my name, but it's not the same...”xxxxx xxxPulling a deep red Hyundai Sonata into the garage, Roiben Gonzalez cut off the engine and smacked his forehead into the steering wheel. Dropping out of school, taking over a business he had never really been taught to run and caring for his baby sister was exhausting. If he didn't care so much about taking care of Gabriella, he'd have given up on trying to keep the business going strong. After getting out of the vehicle, locking the car doors and stepping inside the house from the garage area, the male with silvery colored hair and deep ash grey eyes let out a soft yawn. “Gabby? Gabs? Is she already in bed? No... If she were, Spud would be...” he mumbled while glancing around yet never bothering to finish his mumbles due to being too tired to care to finish the sentence. Now this was odd. Gabriella, his cute and loving baby sister, would usually be excited if she heard his car pulling into the garage this early and deliberately run all the way down here just so she could talk his ears off. It was still relatively early and yet there was no Gabby let alone a Spud. Where the heck were they?
xxxThe first thought to run through his head was something bad happened while he was gone. Muttering unintelligibly to himself, Roiben started checking the rooms for any signs of a possible break in or just distress altogether. Finding nothing on the first floor, the elder male started up the stairs cautiously. While he was exhausted from having to work a very large business firm, it worried him not to have that little blonde haired girl he cared so deeply for running up to him to welcome him home for the few times he'd come home early. “Gabriella? Spud? Anyone home?” he called out down the upper hallway while hoping that the little girl would be jumping out sometime soon just to say boo. He would have a complete mental meltdown if something bad happened to Gabby.
xXx‘No. Don't think negatively. She's probably just wrapped up in some game with the Spudster in her room. She'll be fine... I hope she's alright,’ he breathed in the back of his head to reassure himself that his baby sister was alright. Of course by the time he reached Gabby's bedroom door he was nearing a panic attack, his hand froze before he could knock on her door. What if something bad had happened? How was he going to react should he enter her room and see something horrible that he couldn't fix? How would he not freak Gabby out if he looked like he was having a panic attack when she was just playing in her room? He did that last year and ended up making her cry for what felt like an eternity.

  Иʋƨнαℓα Ғɛияιя Nushala smelled the same scent she had been smelling since she had arrived in the house, only this scent was stronger which told her that he was home now. Nushala stayed in her corner of the room, "Your Brother home" she said simply to Gabby as she awaited him to come into the room, she could smell the panic on him.

Ⓖⓐⓑⓡⓘⓔⓛⓛⓐ "Ⓖⓐⓑⓑⓨ" Ⓖⓞⓝⓩⓐⓛⓔⓩ ☆═━❤┈♥┈♥┈♥┈εїз┈✿┈εїз┈♥┈♥┈♥┈❤━═☆ Gabby raised her head to look up at Nushala when she felt something touch her shoulder. She smiled and giggled. "I know." She watched her go back to the corner before she went to put her teddy bear on the bed, skipping a bit. Straightening the tie for a moment and humming she glanced out the window. It was almost bed time and Roiby would be home. She felt a little panicky now. She needed to get Nushala to the guest room before he could see her. "Let's get you to your room." She ran over to her and grabbed her paw, trying to yank her to the door.
When she reached the doorway she heard his car pull in and then a door opening and slamming shut, as well as Nushala announcing that he was home now. Nope, it was too risky now. "No, wait in the corner!" She started trying to push her back in the corner after she shut her bedroom door softly. "Umm, I want to play hide and seek. You should stay here okay?" She heard her brother's steps up the stairs and she glanced to the door. They finally stopped outside. Gabby only hoped that he wouldn't enter the room. She just wanted her friend all to herself for one night.
Spud was out there luckily, and he was able to console him. Clearing his throat he greeted the panic-stricken teen with a tip of his hat. "Sir, Gabriella is just playing and wants to be left alone for a bit. Do not fret. I made some macaroni cheese for her, and I brought some of my wife's left overs for you." He recalled that when Roiben was younger he would enjoy eating with Spud and his wife whenever she cooked. "Now that you are home I shall be off. I'll come for a visit in the morning if I have time. Good night, Master Roiben." With that he left, glad he could help Gabby a bit, even though it wasn't much.

Say my name, but it's not the same...”xxxxx xxxSighing on the inside, Roiben felt a flood of relief pass over him at Spud's words. “Thank you, Spud. See you tomorrow,” he responded to the elder male while setting his hand against the wall for a moment. She was fine. Spud and Gabriella were safe from harm for yet another day. He could remain calm now.
xxxRapping his knuckles lightly on Gabby's door yet never opening it, Roiben let out a soft breath. “Gabby, don't forget to brush your teeth before bed. I'll be in the dining room if you want me to braid your hair before you go to bed or if you just wanna talk. Love ya,” he called through the door in the smooth rumble of a voice only with a slight twinge of exhaustion seeping through. Shortly after making it clear where he'd be if she needed him whatsoever, the silvery haired male let his hand drop down back to his side and heading exactly to where he'd said he'd be at. Now what he needed to do was get started on the paperwork in that briefcase he left by the garage door. He was going to die at an early age and Gabriella would be traumatized for the rest of her life.

Иʋƨнαℓα Ғɛияιя Nushala stayed where Gabby had instructed her to remain, after hearing her brother through the door calling out to Gabby she knew that he was hoping they would spend sometime together. Nushala looked at the girl after he had walked away, "You tell, he need know, could cause trouble if he don't" she said as she was trying to tell Gabby that it may be for the best if she told her older brother that she was here. "If wish, I will be in guestroom" she offered to make things easier for her to tell her brother.

"But I just want to keep you secret until the morning," she murmured in a hushed tone, wringing her hands together. At least that's what she kept telling herself. "I'll show you where it is if you are getting sleepy." Her tone was that of stubbornness and it was obvious she wasn't going to tell her brother. She waved for her to follow as she quietly left her room and went down the hall to another room. "This is where Spud used to spend the night." She skipped over to the bed and patted the blankets, thinking of the times she would hang out with her favorite butler, smiling over at Nushala.
Suddenly a thought popped up in her head about a conversation with Spud. Spud had told her that keeping something a secret was like a form of lying sometimes. Was this what he meant? Her eyes grew wide and guilt washed over her. She didn't want to lie to Roiby! "Noooo!" she wailed abruptly. Without so much as a word of what she was doing she ran into the hallway leaving Nushala in the room. She thumped down the steps hastily, almost tripping a few times, and raced into the dining room where her brother was. She was blubbering like a baby as she hugged him and buried her face into his side. "I didn't mean to lie to you, I swear! I didn't mean to!"

Say my name, but it's not the same...”xxxxx xxxCatching what sounded like a wail of the word no, Roiben raised an eyebrow but shrugged it off as Gabby not wanting to go to sleep. She was stubborn about sleep yet couldn't fight her natural instincts of needing sleep. Continuing to read over the papers, his brow furrowed slightly at the sound of small footsteps running down the stairs, almost slipping a couple of times even. Then before he knew it, the small blonde haired sister he would give the world to, if it was possible, was clinging to him and blubbering about something. “Whoa, whoa, whoa. Calm down, Gabby. Slow down. Stop the tears and take a deep, calming breath before speaking. My brain's already shutting down for the night so the most I caught out of that was lie,” he purred soothingly while gently picking the little girl up and setting her in his lap, his arms keeping her close until she could calm down and speak normally.
xxxHe really needed to speak with Spud on what all he was teaching his baby sister. If only the morons at the business firm would stop calling him in repeatedly. How hard was it to copy a piece of paper and fax it to him?! Were they still confused on what a telephone was? It was irritating getting dragged away so constantly.

Иʋƨнαℓα Ғɛияιя Nushala knew what the girl was about to do as she could tell there was realization on her face, hearing the girl run down the steps and apologizing to her brother, she walked over to the bed and sat down. She wanted to look as least threatening as possible, considering she was an Ulfheonar after all, her peopled looked threatening on a good day to most humans. If she were to stay by this child's side, she would have to show her older brother that she would not harm the child, in fact, even act as a body guard so she would be safe.

She inhaled deeply like she was taught and wiped her eyes with her balled up fists. She gripped his sleeves as she was lifted and set down in his lap, her cries softening as she nestled against his chest. After a few tries of of speaking she finally managed to steady her breathing and blurted out what was running through her mind in a single sentence. "I wanted to play so Spud took me to get a new friend and so we got her and when we came back home I showed her my room and my toys but then you came home and I didn't want you to meet her so I hid her and put her in Spud's old room and I didn't mean to lie!" When she had mentioned she was upstairs her head swiveled and her gaze looked to the direction, pointing to the ceiling. "I didn't want you to be mad at me!"

Say my name, but it's not the same...”xxxxx xxxFeeling his deep ash gray eye twitch slightly, Roiben continued gently rubbing his fingertips against his little sister's back. Spud was going to get severely reprimanded for taking innocent little Gabby to such a dark establishment. “It's alright, Gabby. If you wanted a new friend, you should've told me before bringing the idea up to Spud. I don't want you going back there ever again, Gabby. It's a dark place to step foot inside of and I'd lose my mind if anything happened to you,” he murmured gently to the little blonde haired girl before setting a gentle kiss on top of her head. While he seemed completely calm on the outside, his insides were twisting and churning every which direction out of the thought of a stranger in the house. Yep. This was completely deserving of Spud getting a severe reprimanding.
xxxGlancing back down at Gabriella, he gave her a gentle smile while wiping the tear streaks from her face. “May I meet your friend before you go off to bed? I just want to be sure you'll be safe with this new friend of yours since I can't always be here to keep you out of danger. I promise not to chase your friend away,” he purred sweetly.

Иʋƨнαℓα Ғɛияιя Nushala could hear the slight aggravation in the child's older brother's voice, knowing he wasn't happy about there being someone in the house he didn't know she got off of the bed and moved to the back of the room and sat on her knees in a corner facing the door. She placed her hands/paws on her legs and closed her eyes, she would wait for him to see her before she moved or spoke, and knew that she would make sure a growl didn't come out, though that tended to happen when her kind spoke.

Tears threatened to spill again as she thought about the trouble Spud was going to get in even though she had slightly tricked the old man to go there, she had been at school and overheard one of her richer classmates bragging about how her father had bought a friend at that place. She lowered her gaze when he kissed the top of her head and rubbed at her eyes again. "I got out of the car when Spud told me not to." Quickly slipping off Roiben's lap she stumbled to get to the stairs. "If you make her leave then I'm going to leave with her," she huffed without thinking. She cupped her hands around her mouth and proceeded to shout, "Hey, Nushala, you can come out!"

Иʋƨнαℓα Ғɛияιя Nushala heard Gabby she got up and slowly walked out of the room, she then proceeded to the stairs, "I'm coming down" she slowly made her way down the stairs, her tail swishing behind her as she saw Gabby waiting for her. Once she reached the bottom she looked over to Roiben and bowed her head, "It is an honor to meet the older brother of this child" she spoke and moved slowly as to not alert him, she meant no harm to anyone there, she felt that she might be needed to stay by this child's side to protect her from any danger when her brother could not.

Say my name, but it's not the same...”xxxxx xxxGrumbling something unintelligible under his breath at his sister's stubbornness, Roiben stood up from his chair and followed the little blonde to the stairs with his hands in the pockets of his jeans. Watching the female come down the stairs, he kept a blank expression while studying her with his deep ash grey eyes. “Suilad, Nushala. You may call me Roiben. Sorry to say, but knowing you are fey and the slower motions doesn't exactly put me at ease any,” he stated smoothly while lightly stepping to where he was slightly in front of his little sister. Slightly flipping his hair out of his face with one hand, he didn't intend to explain how he knew elven let alone that she was fey. It was one of several secrets he'd kept from Gabby after all. While she had Spud telling her it was a form of lying, Roiben had been keeping secrets from her for years.
xxxGlancing briefly down at Gabriella, he flashed her a flicker of a smile before returning his gaze to Nushala. “So... What makes you think I can trust you to watch after my one, my only irreplaceable little sister?” he asked while letting that flicker of a smile vanish from his face. So it wasn't the kindest way of asking if she was honestly trustworthy, but he was exhausted and uncaring of how his words came out. He didn't even intend to let Gabby near her until he felt he could trust her. It made him happy on the inside that she hadn't harmed either Gabriella or Spud when they got her, but the fey were a mischievous bunch which meant she could just be playing with them for fun.

Иʋƨнαℓα Ғɛияιя  Nushala kept in a growl as he called her one of the fey, upon hearing his question to her she stood head up and proud, "Many humans group us with they fey, but my people are of no such ways, we are Ulfheonar, we are warriors of honor and would never resort to such trickery as they. If I was of any danger to your sister or the old one, they would have been dead the moment I was let out of the cage. When your sister approached, she showed no fear and there was loneliness in her eyes, I suddenly felt that should she choose me that I would do everything I could to protect her and comfort her till I was no longer needed. The only threat I pose is to those who would wish this child harm, I give my word for that is most precious to my people, for our promises and words are a part of how we keep our ancestors proud of their lineage" she said honestly. She knew that her manner of speech would typically set someone off, but she knew he wanted the truth so she gave him what he wanted. Her people were warriors and they were ancestor bound, if she lied it would disgrace her tribe and her ancestors.
