 *Luuk is getting a name change. i'll keep using it for these races to keep it consistent and to avoid any confusion* Looking down the hill then back at the runner and owsla, he feels extremely nervous and tingly all over 1/10 *will add numbers up in the end. hopefully he finishes race unharmed ;-;

Falcon lines up at the start looking down the hill. Footing here has never been so important. He needed to make sure that while running his paws didn't slip and he could grab the ground in order not to slide.
He crouched low to the ground and dug his nails into the dirt to enable him getting a good start. Once the start signal was given he took off, every other race he started off great and had no doubt about that today. He put all his strength into his legs and started to plan his path down the hill.

He made up for that awkwardness with quick, steady paws. He cut off any unwanted movements and, instead, sped off at full tilt, paws picking across the terrain.

He managed to hold that steadiness, his speed only fluctuating slightly. He was roughly half way down the down's side, ears pressed tightly against his back.

As he came near the bottom, he banked slightly, his speed slowing.

He slowed significantly as he hit the bottom of the course, then quickly began the hard part, the ascent.

He slows down while hopping down the hill, avoiding paths with dirt holes in them.... 4/10

Thistledown had been quietly ecstatic since winning the second race, but wasn't going to let overconfidence trip her up. She watched the runner carefully before setting out, bounding easily down the hill.

That was not the type of start he wanted but it wasn't too bad either. He needed to let the slope of the hill take him to increase his speed. He was concentrating on his footing and making sure they stayed underneath him and steady. He was going to push his legs hard still but at least he recognized his paws were the more important part of this race.

He managed to pick up some speed, leaning in to the slope as he struggled to make his way up.
