Freya stopped, and her smug look vanished in place of sheer confusion. Why was her sister always pushing her away? She hated that feeling. It settled, deep down in her gut. Unwanted. She was completely unwanted by one of the people she'd tethered herself to when she was lost. It made her sick to her stomach with fear.
She blinked away the tears that threatened, and furrowed her brows in an attempt to look serious. "Fine. I'll go, under one condition. I promised yeh I'd leave Mac alone, and I will. But yeh owes me this much at least." Freya took a step forward, and this time, she was serious. "Stop sayings cruel things teh Kettil. He is a good boil. He doesn't deserves any of teh s**t yeh gives him. And I won't tolerate it anymore. He is not anybodys toy. He is perfect."
Freya's eyes narrowed, threateningly. She dared Hel to challenge her on this one thing. This one, intolerable thing.
Hel could hate her, if she wished. But she could not hate Kettil.

It was wrong, but Hel got a bit of satisfaction in wiping that smug look off of Freya’s face, but it was short lived. A small feeling of disgust welled up. She shouldn’t be happy that she had done that to her, and just like that the satisfaction died.
As Freya stepped forward though and spoke, Hel inclined her head towards to indicate that she was listening, and at the end, all she did was smirk lightly. That was all, huh? Easy. Why? Because Hel didn’t care that much to go out of her way to bug Kettil, and if leaving him alone meant Freya would leave Mac alone, she’d do it in a heart beat, hands down. “You have my word.” Hel uttered, rather serious despite her smirk, and then spun on her heel and left for the dorms.

Freya stood there, and watched her sister leave.
She waited until the sight of her, getting smaller by the second, was finally out of sight.
And only then, when she knew Hel was truly gone, did she sniff, just once, and let herself cry.
She didn't want to go back to the party yet. She just sat by the tree for a while, and cried.
